QUOTE(ghastley @ Aug 30 2018, 12:29 PM) QUOTE(mALX @ Aug 30 2018, 12:24 PM) Speaking of Sleek Creek, if anyone has "Port to Friend's Houses" = I spent all night last night revamping my Sleek Creek House inside and out! I'd love it if anyone stopped by and saw it who might see something I missed (like floating carpets, etc. = I found two plants floating in the air above the balcony when I was remodeling it, lol).
I've been meaning to try that add-on. Now would be a good time. Since my son's account doesn't have any houses, I've been using it on his account = and gotten pretty spoiled by the ease of it. I favorited all my houses on his account so all of those characters can hop to any mine as if they were on his account too - VERY convenient for me playing on his account since it keeps/saves your favorites list so it is always there unless you purposely remove any. I've been meaning to try that add-on. Now would be a good time. What I really want, however, is the inverse that lets a player designate which houses are "ready for visitors". Maybe I should start looking at how to create UI mods. You can already do that = set individual houses you don't want visitors at as "No Visitors;" (and any further houses you want not visited = change the association on them to the first house you set up as "No Visitors" to be sure it is no longer associated with any of your houses that allow visitors. I've been planning to do that with some of my storage houses, too; but never got around to it, lol. QUOTE(haute ecole rider @ Aug 30 2018, 12:37 PM) Regarding Essential Housing Tools, I just spoke to Cardinal, and he says it’s doable - so he’ll work on inverting the banner so our names show up top and the game name shows up below.
Just wanted to mention, if you go to a friend’s house, it’s going to show the game’s name of the house followed by the owner’s name. So if I went to our guild hall, I would see it as “Hunding’s Palatial Hall” followed by “owner: @mALX1” or something like that.
Just a heads up!
That would be Awesome if he would do that! On visiting other member's houses: When I was hopping to Acadian's house yesterday trying to figure out why I could see the titles and he couldn't = the banner said "AcadianPaladin's Snugpod, Elden Root" for his house; but he never changed the name on his house so I don't know if it will show the changed name or not. The only other one I went to was SneakyBo's Guild Hall, and that hasn't been renamed either. ** Actually, you could find the answer to that by going to Hunding House and seeing if you see "Chorrolite Guild" when you land! Haute, if you use Essential Housing Tools, can you tell me how to find some instructions on it? I was trying to use the "Snap To" feature last night, and have no clue how. I couldn't find any "Read Me" guide to learn how; only those vids on their web page where they go so quickly that I can't see what they are doing. None of them have a step-by-step (for dummies like me), lol. If you are good at it and feel like doing it, could you write out some basic "how to use it" tips? I had one total hell of a time trying to hang signs on signposts last night, lol. This post has been edited by mALX: Aug 30 2018, 06:04 PM

The standard option just lets you completely lock the door. I want an intermediate level of "visitors may need hard hats" for when it's under construction. And probably others, for example...
I use Moonmirth as a warehouse for furnishings I've made, but decided not to use, or replaced with something "better". I'd like that to be tagged as such, in case someone wants to see how big a piece is, for example, or make a trade.

Lol, I guess we'll find out if other people using add-ons can see what you have named something, then name them as "Warehouses" if we find out they can, lol. If you want to limit the access, you would have to lock out all visitors until you wanted someone to come see something there; then unlock it while the visit is on/relock it afterward. QUOTE(haute ecole rider @ Aug 30 2018, 01:39 PM) I haven’t really dug into EHT, but I will take a look at it when I go to Pariah’s and start playing around with it. He may have a "Read Me" somewhere, and maybe I just didn't find it. The vids have no verbal instructions, just show them doing something but by watching it the viewer doesn't really know what they are doing unless they are also adept at using the add-on. (and if they were adept with it, they probably wouldn't be watching the vid). It would be nice if the vids said something like, "If you want to snap two items together, you click on (X) to select ... (etc.) I bound the "Snap" function to a key, then selected the signpost (and it immediately moved the signpost into the center of the post it was abutting). I tried selecting the sign instead of the post and it moved the sign off about three feet up in the air. I'm a really fast learner when someone gives me instructions; but I can't just figure things out on my own without possibly crashing my game,

I installed "Port To Friend" add-on and went for a look around Sleek Creek. The only thing I noticed was that you can't put a horse on uneven ground. With the front hooves on the hay pile, the rear ones float, but if you landed the rears, you'd have the fronts embedded in the hide on top of the hay. That is something ZOS needs to fix, not you.
My preference would be for some plain hay without the "bedding". I haven't found any, and forgot to check if those piles can be flipped over for a flat scatter effect.

QUOTE(haute ecole rider @ Aug 31 2018, 09:56 AM) already tried doing that with the hay beds - not very attractive - you have a hay lined hole . . .
I'm not surprised, but since a number of other items have a usable bottom surface, there was hope. I can't believe there isn't just a plain pile of hay. Why not?

I've begged for hay/straw piles for the stables since housing came out (and water in the horse troughs). They have both for the NPCs; but none for the players. I have used the "straw bed" (with the cloth on it) for bedding; and sunk the "Hay Cart" down into the ground for a hay mound for them to eat; but you are right about the uneven floor thing. You can position the horse on a slant when you put them into the stall, I guess (but I don't like to do that). In real life their feet would sink into the straw; but it wouldn't make them stuck in it like it does in this game, lol. They can't be flipped over though; they are invisible from the other side. Like Haute said, all you get is a very small fringe. It looks bad to see that tattered rag laying on top of the straw in the horse stall, but I figured it was better than no straw at all, (I guess) This post has been edited by mALX: Aug 31 2018, 04:58 PM

Okay, moved the horses around so their back feet aren't floating! Thank you so much for letting me know that, I didn't notice it at all.

Does anyone have plans/hopes for the Friday meet?
With me not having Summerset, and monkey without ESO+ and so not all the DLC, I'm starting to think we need a list of "common ground" somewhere (stickied?) That's even without ZOS locking things behind quests some members might not have done.
The reason I ask, is I'm trying to decide which character to bring. Whether it should be one of the champion-level ones, or one who needs experience. And the usual tank/healer/dps choice for the impromptu team.

Speaking with a good friend of mine, who has a visual impairment, it seems I am not the only one with that problem. Is it possible to write a basic tutorial explaining what the different elements of the UI do and situations where you would want to use them? With screenshots? Thanks! @Hauteecole_Rider16 Hi Hautee! So, I think I may know what could help. In the Essential Housing Tools window, at the top-left, is an Information icon. If you click that icon, it will show a series of pop-up tips that explain what you're looking for... how to get started, the basics of selecting items, editing items, etc. So, my suggestion, set up a keybind for Controls > Essential Housing Tools > Show Selection Window (I use F1, but you can choose whatever key you wish). Then, while in your house, enter Housing Editor mode (F5) and press your keybind (F1, if you choose that). The Essential Housing Tools window will open. Then, click that Information icon in the top-left and take a look at those tips (there's quite a few). After seeing those, and how to select/edit items on the Select tab, you can then move on to the other tabs and click that same Information icon. You should see tips for whatever tab you are currently on. So if you want to learn how to animate things with Scenes, click on the Scenes tab and click the Information icon. (Just as an example) If you still have questions after that though, you know where to find me! I'm always happy to help I will be looking at it shortly (just not tomorrow - it’s Maz’s second ESO anniversary!). Oh, and it can take the place of PTF now . . . In chat I just type /house [name of house] to go to one of my houses /house [player’s name] [house name] will take me to my friend’s house; alternatively leaving the house name off will take me to her primary. For example, to go to our guild hall, I just type /house @mALX1 and it takes me to her Hunding’s /home takes me to my primary So I’ve disabled PTF, Furniture Grouper, and Inventory Insight (replaced by Cardinal’s DecoTrack)

Recently one Guild Master that has several guilds was doing a remodel of his own guild hall and sent all his guilds to our guild hall to use while theirs was remade = that was a pretty huge honor that he felt highly enough of our guild hall to tell his members to use it! Guild meeting today. Buffy will be there and is happy to tag along on any adventures - once she gets some wine and dancing in. Though we hope someone has a better idea, she'll be prepared to lead a group into Stonefalls to kill the three world bosses found in eastern Stonefalls, then back to our guild palace for a nightcap and maybe a swim. If that is the course we follow, it is a good opportunity to bring any character you'd like since (if not focused on healing), Buffy can solo each of the three bosses in question. Again, if anyone else has any little adventure they'd like to lead, Buffy will be delighted to tag along. The plan I put out there is just in case no other ideas emerge. Hope to see folks there!

i may bring Cat Man Dhou, as he needs some more XP. He's an NB Tank, which means he kills slowly when I run him solo, and that slows down his levelling. Since we got his crafting up to 50's, it's time to get his overall level up there, too. World Bosses with a group should help a lot.
