October Crown Store ShowcaseSome familiar items but also a few new ones. Khajiit loves how ZOS is pretty much forcing him to buy Summerset. While it’s true that this one still has the choice to not buy, Khajiit would be madder than Sheogorath’s jammies to miss out on the free stuff. Guess this one will be buying that tomorrow and we promise to do our part with the achievement even though it’s moot at this point.

I'm in the same situation of having no Summerset, but the only thing that's tempting me to get it is making/upgrading jewelry. I've been to Alinor and Artaeum on the PTS and wasn't persuaded by the new lands/homes/quests that I needed them NOW! I'll explore Morrowind until the next chapter comes out and go there when it downgrades to DLC. There's so much I haven't done with the DLC's I've got with ESO+.
Summerset would allow me to farm dolmens for dropped jewels and upgrade the blues/greens to purples, which takes a lot less time than grinding them for all purple; or to bypass that process and craft other sets that didn't have jewelry before.
It's not quite enough to persuade me to spend, even if it's equivalent to half a tank of gas. ESO+ was an easier sell, as the craft bag is priceless. There's also all the extra grind if I did get it for Jewelry crafting.

QUOTE(hazmick @ Sep 27 2018, 12:16 PM) From the eligibility section of the event page:
"If you own The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset and log into the game before October 7, you are eligible to receive each reward (if its requirements are met). Even if you only buy the new Chapter towards the end of the event and are unable to earn the Summerset Pathfinder Achievement in time, you will receive the rewards. The deadline for acquiring the Summerset Chapter and logging in is October 7 at 8:00PM EDT."
Awesome. Thanks for the info. Getting it as soon as I get home. QUOTE(mALX @ Sep 27 2018, 01:40 PM) And I don't know when the sale ends, but for this event the price of Summerset was dropped to just 20 US dollars!
It is $22 with PlayStation Plus membership. Not bad at all! QUOTE(Grits @ Sep 27 2018, 03:16 PM) I am re-downloading my PS4 game to see if I can get a couple more hits for the total by tomorrow. Join me on an adventure if you’re ever on! Awesome! We made 100%. Honestly I’ll have to admit I’m a bit intimidated now. I bought the Surrealist Estate a few days ago, and now the Hunter’s Glade when it comes out and now the Psijic Home! I swear all I’ll ever do now is grind for coins to buy furniture for the house. Quests? Never mind that! I’ll be stuck on all three homes decorating

And yet I am, and live—like vapours tossed. I long for scenes where man hath never trod A place where woman never smiled or wept There to abide with my Creator, God, And sleep as I in childhood sweetly slept, Untroubling and untroubled where I lie The grass below—above the vaulted sky.”

Quests? Never mind that! I’ll be stuck on all three homes decorating That Grand Psijic Villa is so huge that it will intimidate anyone trying to make it look even partially good with only 700 slots. But a free mansion is a free mansion, lol. Oh, and they have a whole section of furnishings now that is varioius bloody and chewed up body parts in the Crown Store, that should help you with the Hunters Glade! Plus I think you can get those huge slabs of black rock to make caves with for only 500-5,000 gold each at the housing furniture vendors. I want to read your Kraven story again to see how you will decorate it since it is in Hircine's Realm! This post has been edited by mALX: Sep 27 2018, 07:37 PM

QUOTE(mALX @ Sep 27 2018, 12:15 PM) @ Khajiit - Imho, I think the 100% they needed to achieve was always about sales on the Summerset Chapter because they needed them. Summerset didn't make near the money for them that Morrowind did; (probably because no one wanted to buy Summerset after ZOS gave Morrowind away free after just a year, and all those people who paid so much for it felt like shmucks).
This is the second time they have put Summerset on sale since its release just a few months ago; and now them giving away this house to push sales on it - I'll bet they had to because the sales for Summerset were way below what they needed it to be (and that the 100% is actually them reaching their funding needs from Summerset).
The Pathfinder thing was so easy that everyone would be able to do it with no problems; and would distract us from the actual goal they needed to reach.
But at any rate, WOOOOOOOOOOOOT !!!!! We get a free house with 700 slots !!!!!
Well Khajiit is not really sure what they expected. Morrowind had name recognition and nostalgia going for it and it was the first “Chapter” to be released so people didn’t really know what to expect. There was no indication that it would ever be free to Plus members so if you wanted Morrowind, you had to buy it. Where ZOS really messed up in regards to Summerset (in Khajiit’s honest opinion), was releasing Morrowind for free right before launching Summerset. They had to know that, having witnessed that, a large portion of the player base would simply wait to get Summerset for free. This one knows that was his own intention until this special event came about.

QUOTE(monkeyemoness @ Sep 27 2018, 09:12 PM) tbh Don't most MMOs make their expansions free after a while? Then again most (good) MMOs are subscription based. 'Course I don't play many MMOs to begin with so I could be wrong.
Anyways, I can't believe ESO fulfilled the dream of many Millenials and gave us free housing. With a catch that it has no furniture.
We've known since day 1 that ZOS have no idea how to do MMOs. They know how to take all of the money, and that's their primary concern I shudder to imagine how many crowns are going to be spent on furniture packs in the coming weeks. What a handy coincidence that more were added to the crown store recently.

This one knows that was his own intention until this special event came about. My thoughts exactly. That was a huge mistake; because it let everyone who was feverishly waving their credit cards in anticipation for Summerset (know that if they waited a year they could have Summerset for free). Yeah, whoever was responsible for the timing on that idea is probably in the unemployment lines right now as ZOS scrambles to recoup that income they would have made. But I don't mind, because I got a free 700 slot house plus my son's Summerset purchase for half price, lol. This post has been edited by mALX: Sep 27 2018, 09:46 PM

Yeah, ESO is the only MMO this one has played for longer than 6 months so don’t really know how other MMOs do their expansions. This post has been edited by TheCheshireKhajiit: Sep 27 2018, 09:36 PM

From what I saw, they are going to be selling the furniture that was in it in "Packs;" but I couldn't see the price they were asking for them on the PTS (since everything on there is 1 gold, lol).
