That 20 hour cycle pissed me off no end, because I missed more than a few days to get the event ticket, even though I logged in every single day of the witches festival. Because my work requires me to go in early one day and go in late the next, if I got my event ticket one evening, I would not get the next one until two days later, because more often than not, the ticket for the next day would not be ready when I logged in in the morning of the second day, only for me to be at work when the ticket timer would reset.

As it was, I barely squeaked by, getting my 10th ticket this morning with just six minutes left on the festival clock.

And picked up my emerald feather just two minutes shy of the Impresario disappearing.

Not that I really want that Indrik mount (I kind of lump it with the elk mounts - you could put your eye out riding them things), but it's the principle of the thing. I don't mind it so much for mount training, because that's always there, but for a limited time event like the Witches Festival, I feel it should be on the same simple reset cycle as the daily crafting writs.

Whew that was close! And indeed, it is definitely the principle of the thing. Khajiit works a similar schedule to you and there were a couple of days which we couldn’t get a ticket.

And the prize for Best Use of Hat in Khajiit’s crew goes to Mira!

I think we got 12 tickets, but didn't trade them in for a feather. Was never sure if I was on the next day and could earn another ticket or if I was on the previous day and had no ticket left.

Pretty decent idea for an event to earn a free mount but I think Zenimax needs to work on the execution if they do it again.

Well they definitely are doing it again; the Clockwork City Anni. event, The Undaunted event, and the New Life Festival, so hopefully they will tweak it a bit before the Clockwork City one in a couple of weeks.

So some of you may know that I decided to try Alcast's builds for two of my toons, Do Raheita, my Khajiit magblade, and Julian, my trusty Redguard stamblade. With the Murkmire update, Alcast has added skills to the recommended stamblade PVE build that requires some PVP skills (specifically vigor and caltrops). So that means Julian has to either head off to Cyrodiil or to Battlegrounds to level up her Alliance Assault skills and unlock those two.

After being killed (basically one-shotted), even with the modified PVE build, Julian and I decided we would focus on PVP skills just to level up faster. Today we looked at Alcast's Silencium, the stamblade bow build, and started putting together a second build just for that. And yes, that means reassigning CP points, and likely new skills. But we started out getting the gear first. While shopping for it, we were pinged by a random player in Wayrest who complimented Julian on her outfit. Any of you who has seen her since the outfit system dropped will know that she is rocking Blades Blue and Gold. In fact, Covenant Blue is the predominant color in her armor. The funny thing is, when we thanked this player politely for the compliment, we got invited to a PVP guild that is DC only. However, the voice chat (Discord) requirement resulted in auto decline from us, heh.

Julian was able to find all the gear she needed for the build, but some pieces had different traits or enchantments on them. So she sent them to Maz for improvements, trait reassignments, and re-enchantments. And all of these were carried out at our guild hall, where everything is working just fine.

When Julian got her new gear back, she wanted to put them to the test right away. So we got a guildie from our trading guild (you know the one, mALX) to join us, and he brought along his healer/stam toon. The other two were random players from the queue, and my guildie talked me through a Deathmatch. I was very happy that Julian and I did much better (and dealt more damage) than the last time we tried it, with our old PVE set. I also tested the new gear on our dummy at the guildhall, and was very pleased to find that twin blades went up considerably. Bow still needs work, but that takes time.

Anyway, TL;DR, but wanted to share!

Since Trey was getting killed... running away from things... exploring Craglorn, he decided to clear some of the miscellany from his inventory and track down the crafter's surveys that have been accumulating.

Of course, the blacksmith ones seem to be partial to places that are occupied by trolls- and the Scaled Court and Iron Orcs are conveniently parked on some of the others... so... yeah... lots of fun. He did get to Champion Level 60- but because his... controller can't focus, he is still a jack-of-all trades, master of none--- which means a lot of dying and/or running away.

laugh.gif Yeah, I remember those days real well! Misa avoided combat every chance she got, or died trying, lol. Right now she is doing really well (comparatively), but the only reason she is doing well now is because I found someone who really knew how to build a good NightBlade and they helped me to tweak her build into a viable one. (her DPS tripled!)

I also had a totally useless Dragon Knight until a guy who knew how to build a Tank came along and gave me some tips on how to turn her around, and she turned out to be one of my most fun characters!

Right now Acadian is teaching me how to build a good Sorc (because the one I built couldn't win a fight with a base level mudcrab).

I have learned by this game that I just don't have a talent for building a good character; and so am really grateful for meeting some people who can, lol.

A lot of my characters are in that situation. We've only gone into Cyrodiil for the Midyear event, and picked up a few points (and boxes of trash) but nobody got anywhere near Vigor. That seems to be the DPS builds' "Oh dear!" skill to get out of jail free on PvE, but it's a PvP-required skill. I hadn't considered getting a group together for BG as an alternative.

Spreads will want that knowledge too, but I suspect she'll have issues getting the right gear together. We have her in Crafted/Overland stuff now, and will likely want other sets to move up.

Good luck to Blossom. Buffy's spent plenty of time camping that northern most dolmen in Bangkorai farming Spriggans jewelry.

More by luck than good management I figure, Buffy finished the Witchifest with 15 event tickets (10 went to a feather), an apple bobbing animation momento and a few nice little bits of random furnishings. I do believe 15 event tickets was the maximum possible for the event.

I just saw this apple-bobbing emote yesterday = I love it! Sometimes the girl I was watching got the fetid fish instead of the apple; and she'd make a face and spit it out of her mouth - throw it on the ground. When she got the apple she would raise her hands up and cheer, then hold the apple up = it was AWESOME !!!!

The odd thing about it was that the guy who was showing me the emote on his character = he wasn't seeing what everyone else was! He saw his character facing away from the cauldron and then suddenly having an apple in her mouth! So it seems they made the emote for others to see, but neglected to make the Player's viewing of it. Anyway, I love to see it, it is a very fun emote!

Khajiit is somewhat annoyed they’ve never released a raven noncom pet. Witchwood is in dire need of one!

Not really, I think Acadian's sets were Law of Julianos (craftable) and Necromancer Necropotence (which the guild bank is full of!).

Brenna obtained the crew’s Witch’s Festival Indrik feather and we have a 2 event ticket head start on the next one.

Khajiit is annoyed that the timer for the event ticket reset was not on a similar schedule as the login rewards but was instead tied to the very second you picked up your first Dremora Skull. It caused us to miss out on some tickets even though we played everyday of the event.

Ditto.

Oh, that must have been really frustrating! (and WHEW! Right down to the wire on the timing!)

I didn't have nearly that reason for not getting mine, just had some real life things that needed doing and = like you said, it bumped me from getting the gold skulls/event tickets. I'd get the purple Plunder Skulls; but I didn't feel like chasing those. I spend enough time in front of the PC as it is, laugh.gif

Like most have said here, I'm not really as interested in the mount itself; it is just ... because it is there, lol.

That means if you earned more than 12, you didn't get them because you were holding the maximum amount allowed; unfortunately.

I agree though; they kind of made it so complicated that a lot of people won't get it even though they did everything they were supposed to do. It was about getting people to participate in the event, and we obviously did that.

But like a lot of people have said = even if I get it, chances are good that it will sit in my collections and only rarely get pulled out and ridden. So I doubt I'll whine much if I don't win it.

BOLD: WOO HOO !!!!!!! Awesome !!!!

Alcast has some good builds! (even if you just use them as a basis they are good!) It is really great when you have made changes on a character's build to be able to see the difference immediately that way, that is Awesome!

And to find someone who can teach you how the Death matches work = gold mine. I couldn't figure them out, just kept going in till I got a good team around me that whipped the tar out of the other two teams, lol. I prefer Cyrodiil to the battlegrounds, lol.

And you are def right; it only costs 3000 to change your CP points around. If you are going to PvP; most def log your PvE build stats (so you don't lose your PvE build) and redo your CP points just for PvP'ing. It is well worth the changes; and as long as you made a record of the PvE build (you can always flip back and forth). There are CP points that are specifically for PvP - they are useless for PvE'ers, but make a huge diff in PvP!

They kind of do have them for furnishings; just not as pets. They had some in that furnishing pack (that won't be out till next year now) = indoors: A black raven sits on a wreath type perch that you can hang in your house; and it moves its head; looks around; and even moves around on its perch intermittently.

They have a scarecrow for outdoors that has a flock of ravens that occasionally swarm around it or perch on it, and they had a black raven that you can call to yourself and it will perch on your arm and look around for about 15 seconds before evaporating. (they also have a flock of crows that will circle you indefinitely until you want to scream; I am not a fan of that one).

They also had a huge black raven combat dummy, lol. I loved it, but felt bad hitting it.

A lot of these furnishing packs have unique items that you can't get anywhere else; it pays to peek through them while they are on there for these special events.

Someone: Murkmire dialogue actually makes note of your race!

Me: Oh, cool.

*Five minutes in the dialogue forces me to make extremely stupid questions for an Argonian, let alone one that is native to the area.*

Me: Ah, you meant they just have different greetings. Okay. Gotcha.

I'm only a little mad. I'm used to this from Bethesda.

Lol. Khajiit is also having dialogue/story problems in Summerset. This one is trying a brand new character and one of the first things out of Razum-dar’s smart alec mouth is that he’s wounded because my character asked “Who are you again?”. They’ve never met, wtf?!! Also, Khajiit had only had a brief encounter with someone/thing called “The Golden Knight”, but he sounds suspiciously like Darien.

Yeah, it's a mess, and it's hard to tell how much of the dialogue mishaps is due to bugs. (Example: a random encounter in Murkmire that's a followup to one in Summerset claims Lucius joined the Dark Brotherhood. He....did not???? At all?????)

At the very least, The Golden Knight has plenty of reason to know who you are regardless of what you've done.

Well, after escaping a mind prison in Summerset, Dredwyn Stormhowler has arrived on the shores of Auridon, and has been recruited as the third witch on Khajiit’s crew. As soon as she left her room at the Mara’s Kiss Pub House, she was met by a mysterious hooded figure asking her to go meet a mysterious benefactor. As soon as she finishes running errands at the bank and guilds she may go see what this is all about...

Because Izanami the Redguard Templar has been so much more survivable, even at a much lower level, Trey Nightblade went to Wayrest and respected. Many thousand gold later, he is on his way to becoming a Sorcblade- which makes more sense for a Breton.

As he also dropped most of his crafting skills (except provisioning- he likes to cook tongue.gif), he will soon be assisted by the new Nord Dragoncrafter, Hrolf Smedson.

Hrolf finished everything on Bleakrock (after a minor completionist hiccup that caused him to have to be deleted and rebuilt... to wit, "Save the People" and he missed the fisherman with the dog). So now Hrolf is running around Bal Foyen, lighting fires and digging metals and chopping wood. He has only slotted one skill in each racial attribute so as to save points for crafting- once he actually gets trained for Smith, Woodworker, and Clothier.

I still miss how in Oblivion the Khajiit players were called "Furball" by the Khajiit hating guard in Anvil; or asked "How ass tastes" by that one (Khajiit hating) Argonian in Leyawiin, etc. Somewhere along the line, Bethesda seems to have lost its sense of humor in their games! They had so much fun little things like that to find in Oblivion and Fallout 3; it is one of the things that made them my favorite games of all time.
