Illana won’t be a nightblade any longer starting Summer! Wooh!

Nice trailer, but the ending was awesome! He’s alive!(or undead)!

I long for scenes where man hath never trod
A place where woman never smiled or wept
There to abide with my Creator, God,

The grass below—above the vaulted sky.”

Come to think of it, this is probably the only time the trailer had ANYTHING to do with what actually happens in the game. Which is probably why it's the first time I've felt any hype whatsoever lol

Seriously, so many theatrics over characters and events that don't actually show up in the game. Why am I supposed to care about the Breton, Altmer and Nord again?

It is only "Dwagons" if Todd Howard made them. These are Ptwagons!

Yehap!

QUOTE
Venture to the land of the Khajiit in The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr, our newest chapter, an epic story in an all-new zone. Face dread creatures from the past—Dragons!—and discover the dark skills of a new character class, the Necromancer, as you join with new friends and old enemies to save Elsweyr from war and devastation.

ESO reaches new heights of storytelling with a war against the Dragons that unfolds and builds over four quarterly releases to an unexpected climax.

I'm curious to see how this unfolds.

At last, Baron Loredas can achieve his full potential. At last, he will have his revenge.

I am seriously excited about what is coming in June!

HEY, I'M ACTUALLY NOT DISAPPOINTED IN THE SLIGHTEST

THEY SHOWED CONCEPT ART OF ALFIQ KHAJIIT, SOME OF THEM ARE MERCHANTS, THEY CONFIRMED THE OTHER FURSTOCK WOULD BE SHOWN

ELSWEYR IS REALLY PRETTY--AND THAT WAS JUST ANEQUINA

BLESS YOU ZOS

I might actually get these Dungeon DLC tbh

The Breton Covenant Hero from the cinematics from years ago. He never shows up in the actual game in spite of being the "face" of the Daggerfall Covenant. :v (But his costume is obtainable in-game...sometimes)

I heard he's an undead disguising his nature.

Fun fact: It was confirmed that Necromancy is in fact outlawed, and guards will attack you for using it, even in player duels within cities.

I was wondering about how that would work in one of the Undaunted Pledge dungeons where you have NPC's going with you through the dungeon: Example: Ruins of Mazzatun; etc. - Especially if you are playing as a Necromancer Class character.

Next major update/patch will include changes to racials. Here's ZOS current plan that they expect to introduce into the PTS for Elsweyr I guess.

It looked like most of the changes were replacing percentages with fixed numbers, so they remained static. A few items like Bosmer getting better detection in place of their own stealth, but nothing looked game-changing. To me, anyway. The min-maxers living on the edge will find plenty.

I agree. Most of the racial changes are minor nibbling around the edges. They don't address the fact that race selection encourages channeling characters into either stamina or magicka creating a division between performance players and roleplayers. ESO provides that gender choice is purely cosmetic; I'd like to see the same for race choice.

Agreed. I’d be happier with a handful of race-specific emotes than the current system. As long as PvP is part of the game, race shouldn’t provide a competitive advantage.

You want to eliminate the innate Race bonuses? Oh no, I can't agree with you on that.

There has always been certain attributes to each race that helped us choose our characters by either innate ability or appearance; and I have always loved that.

I had to really think if I was willing to give up a little bit of prowess to keep the looks I wanted my character to have; or even take on a character I'd never played before to gain expertise in an ability = love that it makes me think carefully about my choices and not just (leap on the prettiest and still have it all type thing).

I think that is a good thing. I wouldn't want the characters to be just identical plugs = not to mention it would eliminate all the Lore built into the races throughout all the Elder Scrolls games and stories.

Unless I misunderstood what you meant here; and if that is the case = "Er...never mind..." laugh.gif

I mean, the racial differences are largely a gameplay thing and even then they aren't exactly consistent. (Especially in earlier games where attributes were a thing, the distribution was all over the place depending on the game you played)

Within the lore it's not as cut and dry as racial bonuses would have you believe. Even the notes on the passive changes state that the people of Tamriel (if one could talk to them) may not agree entirely with the assessment.

I get wanting to have racial choice be meaningful in a gameplay sense, but having them impose on roleplay and sometimes even contradicting lore by itself (as racial bonuses do to some extent no matter the game) is never a good thing imo. It should have been closer to previous games where it's more of a factor when you start out but evens out regardless of race near the end.

Race and class are unlike the other skill lines in that you have to choose between alternatives, at the start of the game. I think that bundling three lines into one choice as "class" was a mistake, making it much harder to change later, and that race needed morphs, and active skills, to allow more development.

But that kind of change is way too radical for this late. Too many players would have too much to change, and what they're doing is about as much as they can.

Race can't be totally neutral. Khajiit have claws. Argonians are amphibious. Redguards, Nords, Dunmer have adapted to their homeland environments. Elves live longer, and that presumably brings some metabolic differences. However, those should be relatively minor, compared to training skills in-play. Just enough to start you along a chosen path, rather than block you from any.

I was hoping that more skill lines would be introduced to dilute the effect of the class bundles. If you could get equivalent abilities outside class, then the fact that it governs three whole lines is less restrictive. But they've added Warden, and now Necromancer is coming. Those could have been additions, instead of start-up options.

There is certainly more than my own way of looking at this and differing opinions are fine. smile.gif I think what drives me is a bit of resentment that ESO is trying to say that even though you are The Chosen One to save Nirn and the most special/unique being on the planet, there can be no such thing as a Bosmer who is gifted with magical aptitude. ESO doesn't channel characters into certain roles/skills/abilities (like stamina vs magicka) based on gender choice and I would like that same freedom and flexibility applied to race choice.

The good news is that, as a mage, Buffy's race has and will continue provide her two benefits:
1. She remains 'Best in Slot' for Cute.
2. She can block better than most mages.
That said, I'm not sure how deeply those scant benefits are tied to Bosmer lore. tongue.gif

I love the differences between the races in the single player games, but in ESO’s PvP the Khajiit, Nords, and Bosmer are just other players. To me the best thing would be splitting the game so that PvP and the various flavors of PvE don’t dilute each other the way they do now.

Khajiit does not play PvP so he plays whatever kind of character he wants. If a character can perform his/her role sufficiently in the rare dungeon romp, then that’s good enough for this one.

Bold: Like they did with the Psijic lines; something everyone who wanted to could tap into with their already established characters. I def agree to that!
