This is my first Fan fiction and if anyone likes it I will add to it as time passes.

In all my adventures around Morrowind I never felt so sad as when I found a body in an ancestral tomb journal in hand. As I look at the door upon entering it was obvious that this door could only be opened from the outside and this poor adventurer had been trapped inside. I picked up the journal and read the last entry to understand what exactly had happened to this adventurer.

"I write to you for possibly the final time as I carve my final Epitaph in this wall and write my final journal entry. To know me entirely would take a lifetime. I'm not well known even in my end and likely will never be recognized for all of the great deeds I have done the great island of Morrowind. Many have never heard my name or of my accomplishments and likely never will. My greed and lust for money has led me to my end and left my task unfulfilled. In this journal I have kept entries of my accomplishments in their entirity."

I sat down gently laying my sword beside me and flipped to the front of the journal to read how he had gotten here and what had happened to him and this is what it said,

"Today I awoke from my sleep to a strange dream. The dream was not bad but I have forgotten most of it but one thing I can remember was the soft voice of a woman. You have been chosen, fear not for I am watchful." Probably a side effect of the awful drink I had been given by the guards. Oh yes I've yet to explain that I am on an Imperial prison ship. The reason is unknown to me for I have suffered a loss of almost all of my memory previous to my time on the ship. I was not the only prisoner on the ship though, there was also a strange man with pale blue skin named Jiub. His voice was deep and piercing though he was always nice and friendly. I feel sick as the boat sways in the water, it is clear that we have run into a storm on our way to our destination."

As I read the first entry in the man's journal I felt sorry for him already. He had no clue about his past. That is a horrible way to live. I knew this wasn't a safe place to continue reading so I took the journal but left all of his personal belongings on his body. I wasn't one to rob from the dead...well I was robbing an ancestral tomb so I guess that's a lie, but I still don't want to rob this particular man. I had a recall spell set to the Eight Plates in Balmora so with a movement of my hands and whispering the correct words I was lifted into darkness and appeared in the Pub.

Upon my appearance at the pub the patrons were startled other than Dulnea the mistress and owner of the bar. This bar was not too popular and there were few patrons, that's why I always liked it so much.

A sturdy looking Dark Elf was helping an Imperial woman down the stairs to the rooms, the girl looked exhaused. I was hoping they hadn't rented the last room and I started talking to Dulnea. I had known her for some time and I had become a regular at her pub.

"How is business lately?" I asked her

"Well enough Kiln, can I get you something?" she replied

"Do you have any rooms I can rent for the night?" I asked

"Sorry Kiln, an Imperial named Serene just rented the last of them."

Still tired I walked out of the pub in the direction of the fighters guild. Someone had taken my bed at my favorite place at the inn. Usually only people who had recently arrived in Balmora and myself slept at Eight plates so Serene probably had needed the room more than I had anyways. However losing my room wasn't that bad because I could go to the fighters guild and sleep it just wasn't as relaxing as sleeping at the Eight Plates, probably the pub's bard and his soft music that relaxed me versus the loud clanging of the trainers at the Fighters Guild.

I walked in and was greeted by several members of the guild on my way down the stairs. I sat on the bottom bunk of the bed on the far right side of the room and opened the torn red journal to the next entry.

"The storm has finally let up. Jiub and I have become quite close since our journey began. I've gotten to know him and since I can't remember my past, he is the only friend I can ever remember.

I needed water or a blade so I could see my reflection, I was still quite unaware of what my face looked like. All I knew was what I had remembered. And that was that I was an Imperial named Tiren. Memories come and go for me now and I've come to accept the fact that my memory may never fully return to me. Though I do wish I could remember my parents and childhood.
Talking about it makes me feel depressed and confused so I've been trying to stop thinking about such things but with no avail."

I was incredibly tired so put the journal into my satchel and tied the top shut tight. I layed it and my armor beside the bed and layed down. No sooner did my head hit the pillow did sleep come to me. I dreamt of the coming day and what I would do but moreso wondered what the journal would reveal about the man in the tomb.

To Minque: Well I wanted to have a reference to your story somewhere within mine because yours is really what inspired me to write this and an actual book I've started writing with my own ideas not based off of morrowind and such. I thought of the journal thing and went with it and it will be mentioned often in my story as you can see.

The night passed and he woke up to the loud swordplay in the training room. He wished the guild bedrooms had been placed further from the training area so he could've slept for longer but he was ready to go outside and wander about for the day.

So he picked up his heavy steel chestplate and slid it on. Picked up his pack and tied it to his back. He looked around searching for his sword, though unable to find it he got on his knees and felt around under the bed.

"Where did I put my blade?" he wondered to himself...then it came to him..."The ancestral tomb where the journal came from!"

He wondered how he had forgotten his father's blade, such an important heirloom to him yet he had left it at the tomb. He had found the tomb by accident while picking mushrooms and was unsure where to find it again so he went to the silt strider port and payed his way to Hla Oad.

He had remembered going up the bank to the west picking plants, and mushrooms, and things of that nature but the distanct down the coast he was unsure of. He remembered passing a large boat along the way and a cove but he couldn't remember how far it was from that point to the tomb.

So he walked slowly along the shore carefully scanning the area for the tomb. The tomb was not far from the boat as he remembered but the boat may have left for another destination or moved further up the coast, either way it was gone.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry this one is so short but company just arrived and I'll continue later or tomorrow. Oh yeah and the tomb is really in the game along the west coast of Hla Oad if you want to visualize what it looks like.

The boat had gone but the small dock was still somewhere along the coastline. When he saw it he would know he was near the tomb.

He walked along the beach combing coast for the dock and finally he saw it. Then one of the most annoying creatures on the entire island let out it's loud screech. He looked to the sky and ducked down hoping not to be caught by the cliff racer unarmed.

They were huge birds with sharp beaks and a tail that could pierce weaker armor he only wore a chestplate, which left the majority of his body open for attack. Cliff racers were weak and easy to kill if one was armed however at this time he was not.
So he moved quietly toward the few trees lining the bank and tried to stay near them so the creature wouldn't spot him.

He passed the cove and followed around the bank until he saw the familiar looks of the entrance of an ancestral tomb. Just as he walked into the open, the cliff racer descended upon him. He rushed into the tomb but the bird beat on the door with it's sharp tail trying to break through.

He ran down through the sublevels of the tomb and saw his sword shining on the floor. He grabbed it and ran back up the stairs and opened the door. The creature dropped on him trying to jab with it's tail. Kiln barely moved each time as the beast thrust his tail forward he also stabbed for it's tender underbelly trying to kill it.

He missed several times before he finally struck the animal right where he wanted to and it let out one final screech as it's lifeless body hit the ground. Kiln wasn't used to fighting a creature with such agility and was quite tired.

So he sheathed his sword and entered the tomb once again, this time to rest. He sat down near the skeletal corpse of Tiren, the man who had written the journal to rest. Most would've thought it strange to sit next to a corpse but it didn't bother Kiln. He opened the journal and picked up where he had left off.

"The boat has come to a hault and Jiub said he thinks they will let us go! I am nervous about being released. What will I do? What will people around me think of me? So many thoughts flow through me right now that will be answered soon. Jiub and I are ready to taste the fresh air once again. I'm still not sure why I've been imprisoned anyways. What did I do that was so bad? I hope to find out along my journey who I once was before this all started."

Kiln closed the journal and looked down at the dusty floor of the tomb. His body felt numb. He needed a place to sleep but the whispering in the tomb made him feel uneasy. So he tried to use a spell to take him back to town, but he was to tired to concentrate and couldn't cast it so he would stay in the tomb for the night.

Only a fool would travel so late when the animals really start to move about. But one thing bothered him. He thought that the name Tiren had sounded familiar, it wasn't a common name but he couldn't remember if he had met him before. He eventually decided that they had never met but something about the name was still bothering him though he wasn't sure what.

I really wanted people to feel like Kiln felt some sort of connection and familiarity with this guy which justifies him to carry around this journal and hang onto every word it says. Not that he would do that with every journal he ever found but rather that he felt like he somehow knew this guy. Are you guys feeling it or do I need to change it up?
