QUOTE(Decrepit @ Mar 16 2019, 01:41 PM) Not a hardware issue, but instead software.
During YouTube searches I almost always sort results using the Upload Date filter at far right. (Not the ones on the left.) All of a sudden, that no longer does anything. (I've not tried other filters as I never use them.) Booted up my secondary computer and launched YouTube. I'm not logged into my YT account there, so should not be affected by any mistake I might have made on my primary machine that might cause the SNAFU. Nope...the filter does nothing there either.
Anyone else experiencing this???????
I use that filter on the right too; and it has always worked for me. (I use it to sort "Oldest to Newest" to find the Fallout 4 vids more easily). When did it stop working for you? I'll have to check it out and see if it is still working for me. Thanks for the heads up!

More on YouTube search filters not working. Searching YouTube videos on the issue unearths next to nothing, or did as of yesterday. Seems odd. You'd think creators would be howling to the rafters since last of filtering makes it difficult to find new videos. Had better luck searching via DuckDuckGo. Here's a reddit thread about it. If what is discussed has basis in truth, and it certainly might, it bodes ill for those who enjoy YT for its ability to let us access events and viewpoints not sanctioned by the powers-that-be as presented and shaped by mainstream establishment news and entertainment sources. YT has already taken a number of steps along those lines these past few years, after all. But there I go getting political again. <quietens downs>

YT has already taken a number of steps along those lines these past few years, after all. But there I go getting political again. <quietens downs> Well, the reasons given in that Reddit page kind of don't make sense; because YouTube has always had a policy of removing anything that they didn't approve (anything of a violent or sexual nature specifically) = so why would they break a feature just to make vids less accessible (instead of just blocking those vids like they have always done in the past? ) I actually did test out that sorting function on the right side yesterday (I've always used it to sort "Oldest to Newest" so I could get to the Fallout 4 vids on an Author's page) = it was still working for me, though. I def agree with what you and someone on that Reddit page were saying though = they are def catering to the high volume publishers; the ones that pull in advertisers that they probably gain some income from. I've noticed that recently their search function ALWAYS shows a vid I searched for in the past stuck in with my current searches = like they don't care about showing me what I'm searching for NOW; they are more interested in making sure I am still seeing the ones I searched for last month or something. It completely dilutes the search from being focused on what I want to find! Google is doing that exact same thing as well; it doesn't matter what I am searching for = every single search I make has a Backhoe bucket in it that I searched for over a month ago to show Mirocu! Why do they think a Backhoe bucket is relevant to me trying to search for information on a local death? They are so focused on getting the right ads in our faces that they have completely turned away from the whole reason for having a good search function and turned it into an advertising tool. Urgh, rant over. This post has been edited by mALX: Mar 19 2019, 03:02 PM

QUOTE(mirocu @ Apr 11 2019, 11:22 AM) Turns out I was wrong. My beloved 3.1 computer is beyond salvation. It's apparently too broken and the content on the harddrive cannot be salvaged.
At least I gave it an honest chance.
Sorry birb.
