They're actually moving away from physical copies. Rumor going around that the new Xbox will be cross platform with pc, and digital only.

I haven't bought a pc game on disc since 2015.

They become to tempting to sell to GameStop when I get into a spending mood :/. What I do like with digital is that its always on my account and I can redownload it anytime I want if I get a new system biggrin.gif .

Problem to selling to Gamestop is that your entire collection in two giant boxes is worth 10 bucks in store credit.

Their prices on selling them anything is laughable.

I remember when there was Electronics Boutique before GameStop bought them out. Khajiit seems to remember them having better exchange rates for trade ins.

As mirocu can confirm, maintaining an old machine for the older games is a major challenge. You can't easily find compatible components if anything breaks.

I have some working 5 1/4" floppy drives, but finding a working motherboard to drive them is getting harder all the time. And 3 1/2", Zip, CD and other optical media aren't on the modern laptop, and won't be installed by default on a tower, either.

At least I'm not trying to find hardware to read punched cards... or half-inch magnetic tapes. biggrin.gif

My computer doesn't have an optical drive.

At least I can get a USB external if I really need one.

You used to be able to get external 3.5 inch floppy drives... can you still get those? I haven't even tried. All the discs would have dried out and crumbled that I'd had.... I never did get to finish Mario is Missing.
