The problem is they allowed the directors to have freedom in the directions their characters take, and backstories. They didn’t have any major things set in stone, such as Snoke’s background, Rey’s parents, etc. Rian has a different vision than JJ. And the former actually said he wouldn’t mind Abrams rewriting Rey’s parentage which just begs the question, shouldn’t have this been more organized in the beginning?

It seems hard to believe they would be that disorganized. But that appears to be the case. Actual footage from Lucasfilm's planning session
Yeah, I mean there's plenty of disagreements between Hamill and Ryan, but the directions the movie took was, well, meh. I've enjoyed Force Awakens, not so much of a fan of Last Jedi.

I watched the trailer again, and now I think I know what that giant wreckage is at 1:43. It is the lower edge of the Death Star's superlaser dish. And you can see part of the equatorial trench beneath it. That makes me wonder if the world they are on in that scene is either Yavin or Endor. Unless its from a new Death Star?

Khajiit wondered that too. Is it possible it’s from the second Death Star and that Empy Palps somehow managed to survive the fall and following destruction of the space station?

QUOTE(Darkness Eternal @ Apr 14 2019, 08:41 PM) *

EU had stories of Palpatine surviving after his death, using his spirit to enter a clone body. In canon Sith can’t wander around in ghostly forms after death like the Jedi do(which by the way is awesome that the Jedi can survive out of selflessness). I think perhaps the Sith can survive and are bound in the place of their death.

There’s a precedent for this in the form of Darth Bane speaking to Yoda, or Momim(an ancient Sith) speaking to Darth Vader through his shattered helmet on Mustafar. Perhaps Sidious’ spirit or essence is haunting the ruins of the Second Death Star.

That is probably the case. Maybe Palpatine is the wreckage of the second Death Star? Perhaps just waiting for some force sensitive victim to come along so he can possess their body? Kylo Ren perhaps?

I can see that happening. Definitely interesting. Apparently, they planned Palpatine's return since Force Awakens. The concept art for Force Awakens had a submerged Death Star debris and someone exploring the ruins.

Another concept art for Force Awakens was Anakin's force ghost that would alternate between Vader and Anakin, commissioned for the movie. Having Hayden Christensen return as Anakin would be a fantastic way to close the Skywalker saga.

I long for scenes where man hath never trod
A place where woman never smiled or wept
There to abide with my Creator, God,
And sleep as I in childhood sweetly slept,
Untroubling and untroubled where I lie
The grass below—above the vaulted sky.”

That looks frickin’ wicked! It seems weird to Khajiit that Anakin’s Force ghost would have all of the cybernetics and life support apparatus though.

I’m kicking myself for reading credible spoilers/leaks on Rise of Skywalker but man.... wow.... I don’t know what to say. If it’s true, well, we’ll finally get to know more about Snoke.

I’ll post it here:

Pffft. The leeks at this point in time leave me going meh, tbh. There’s literally nothing interesting or something that stands out that’ll hook me in, story-wise. Honestly I’m just going to watch it just for the Knights of Ren, which, as we all know, was absolutely wasted. They should’ve appeared in TLJ smh tbh fam

At this point Khajiit is just going to watch it to finish out the series. Perhaps going in with low enough expectations will make it enjoyable?

Well, Rian Johnson is not making this one, so it can't be as bad as the last movie. Since JJ Abrams is directing it will be a copy of one of the previous Star Wars movies, probably Return Of The Jedi.

Boy oh boy Disney really stepped into it this time. Say what you will with the prequel series those weren't nearly as bad and did get good though a little rough in some areas. George Lucas is a good Idealist and Producer but questionable in the Directing department. If Lucas and JJ Abrams teamed up for the sequel trilogy it might have been good. Regardless on how people think of JJ Abrams I like his his Star Trek movies with St: Beyond being my favorite. Still in all honestly I'm going to wait for the reviews on Episode 9 and see if its worth my time or make my own version of Episode 9.

I would consider the prequels to be canon if it wasn't for one major thing; the midiclorians. When did Yoda ever talk about midiclorians to Luke when training on Dagobah? Did Vader ever talk about them? Or Palpatine? Did Obi-Wan inform Luke about them when giving him his father's blue lightsaber?

No one ever talked about midiclorians in your blood stream being important for using the Force in the original movies. Not even as a side-note. Just an "Oh, btw". But in the prequels they were the talk of the town. Or galaxy. It all depended on them. Low midiclorian count equalled never being a strong Force user and vice versa. And age of course. Luke, a 20-something is perfectly fine for training according to Yoda. But Anakin, an eight-year-old or whatever, is too old? Please.

This is why I am so adamant about only the original trilogy being canon. Everything else might be fun, but to me it'll never be canon. Too many inconsistencies.

Sorry. Had to get it off me kvleft.gif

Khajiit is going to have to remind you that Yoda was reluctant to train Luke at first because of his age. He told Obighost as much.

He did, yes. I did forget about that, tbh. But he didn't object nearly as strongly as when they all considered training Anakin. Then Yoda was like "Impossible, it is. Too old, he is. Refuse, I do. Hmm."

Eh, honestly, Khajiit just chooses what he believes to be canon. The new series? Luke ate something that disagreed with him and these new movies are just his nightmares playing out.
