Well done, mALX and Pia!! Congrats on your victory!!! I love that feeling of "let's just see how far we can go" that sometimes leads you all the way through.

Yes, and each victory is a cross between "HOLY COW!" and "WHEW!"

It felt really good for a few minutes; but more than anything it felt like I never wanted to go through all that ever again, lol. Last night I was SO happy my friend Aussie (from TESAlliance) was able to join me for the run again!!! Whew!!! I don't know how on Nirn Acadian and Buffy do this every day in a bunch of different dungeons!!!!!

A thousand times yes!! I have had to scrape my fingers against the table to release the controller from my frozen clutches after Jerric drags me through hell. laugh.gif Blessings upon guildies, friends, and random friendlies who will group up for battles!

Jerric pointed out that there are a bunch of open character slots on my Evergreen/Valdi account, so I've created a couple of bankers. Taking wagers on how long it will be before they start to demand adventures. rolleyes.gif

YES! My hand was cramped around the mouse; and still ached the next day from it!

Ah, yes = the bank mules do eventually get their day in the sun; sometimes forcing us to make a new bank mule to accommodate them, lol.

My Britta was a former bank mule; and this year Lita (formerly known as "Grunting Calia") was rescued from a life as a bank mule by the surgical removal of her grunt via the "Race Change Tokens," lol. She is now a Player Character; though she needs to build up her skills now. (she is CP 160; but doesn't have a single combat skill = crafting is all she has ever done since I discovered the grunting).

Today in Tamriel seems the best place to post this quick story. I don't know how others approach this game. I'm approaching it as full roleplay. I don't know if a lot of others I see do this. For me, RP is all I know.

So with Ana, she does a lot of sneaking around, and I've caught at least 3 other gamers who've seemed surprised to find her lurking in some bushes or grass. They always run up to her. Pause. Then move on. laugh.gif

Anyway, so my story is she's been hunting all the various creatures which lurk in the Seyda Neen / Vivec area. She's a hunter. There was one moment when this warrior or knightly-looking lady came rushing through, began beating on an alik. But she was only Level 3, and was having a tough time. Ana had a perfect shot at the beast (still hiding in grass) and began helping the lady take the thing down!

After this, I got my first Friend request (from a total stranger, that is). And that felt pretty good. smile.gif

I've said before in regards to other games that I am not a hardcore roleplayer, but I set some boundaries for my characters. Cincy, for example, is not going going to do the Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood questlines. They do not fit him. But I don't set many hard restrictions for them. More power to you, though, Renee.

Cat Man Dhou went fishing. He's done six complete zones so far, and today was Glenumbra's turn. He started at Spreads' little cottage near the shore, and di all the salt water holes first, then moved inland to the rivers, found the foul holes while looking for the lakes, and did those next. So that left the lakes to last.

We have now got Piscatory Total Stress Disorder from trying to catch the (probably extinct) Cambray Perch. We used up all our supply of minnows, caught over 350 white lake fish, 35 green, countless wet gunny sacks and bait, three furnishings (Fish, small - Fish, medium, and Fish, Trout) without ever getting the blue one. I lost count of how many circuits of all the lake holes in Glenumbra we did.

It must exist, or nobody could ever have made Master Angler, right? sad.gif

Renee, I love that you are doing a full RP with Ana. It is easy for me to get caught up in player-centric mechanics and start rushing around to get things that I ‘need’ rather than just following the character.

Jerric has had a few adventures out in the world when another player’s character started talking to him as a character rather than to me as a player, which is always fun. Most of those times ended with Jerric being invited back to their home for a banquet. This is the point where Jerric realizes that his new friend is a vampire and guesses what the banquet might be. So far he has given a no-thanks and moved on. None of my other characters have been propositioned by vampires. Maybe he looks like he has a lot of extra blood.

The sneaky and slow types are fun because they get to see so much idle NPC and animal behavior. I remember seeing a snow bear stand on its hind legs to scratch its back against a rock. wub.gif

Brenna’s Witches Festival Recap

She accomplished pretty much everything she wanted to. She got her witch hat and officially carries the title “Witch”. Much proud, such honor.

Now that the Witches Festival is over we will probably be taking a break from the game until the New Life Festival begins. Have fun out there folks!

Much the same here. Got Witch hat, got title, got the Glenmoril Style. More Dremora pages from the solo content than we can use, none from the group stuff (except a couple of dungeons). Hollowjack complete on one more character.

And more ugly furnishings then we're ever going to use - especially bones.

Burned out well before the end, so we went skyshard hunting to fill in the crafting gaps around the crew, and then Cat Man Dhou went fishing instead.

I avoided dumping into the Guild bank, but we have a lot of duplicate Glenmoril pages in hand we haven't destroyed yet. And we're still holding some Companion ones, for that matter, if any of the newest members are interested.

---

This all overlapped with the campaign to "make Blossom a real Lady", so we were raising gold at the expense of other activities. That resulted in Laurie building up a big backlog of Master Writs for which she didn't want to buy the motif page. Now the cash can flow that way, we're trying to decide which ones to do. Our AP reserves just went on Akaviri pages, but we're still several items short of the full motif. The choice is between buying the pages that complete motifs, and boosting the rate of getting new writs (long-term benefit), against buying the ones that get the best return in vouchers (short-term).

Wonderful to see you all posting here. Reminds me of the old Beth forums, in which we were all posting stuff about our characters almost daily.

I love these kind of stories! There can be so many of them in this game; too! When they first opened up the Japanese Server into the NA Server; a lot of young Japanese boys joined the NA (meaning they had to start all new characters) and for some reason were drawn to my Misa. She has had a lot of young Japanese boys come up to her and ask her for a "present" = something to help them with their new games! So I started carrying around an extra 200 each of Lockpicks, Soul Gems, and some of the "Event" foods and drinks that are level 1 so anyone can use them. It is one of the things I love so much about this game!

That is so funny that Jerric appeals to vampires that way! (and gets invited to dinners where he is going to be the dish served up, poor Jerric!!!) rollinglaugh.gif

Misa also did a lot of sneaking her first couple years in ESO; lot in Oblivion; and always in the DC Wasteland in Fallout 3 = and you are right; she heard some hilarious conversations (especially by Super Mutants) and saw some amazing Daedric idle activities in Oblivion gates she was sneaking through! She still sneaks in a new area till she gets to know what enemies she will be facing; and even Pia will drop down into a sneak when approaching a known enemy site. Getting a critical hit on an enemy while in Stealth is still valid to boost the damage in this game; and some armor sets and skill lines take advantage of that and boost it even further.

It was just a long delay while I worked on the texture. I had the base canvas, but the folds/stretch marks took forever to do by hand. And I recall a bunch of quirks in NifSkope/GIMP trying to stop it being shiny.

Cat Man Dhou was lucky, and got a complete mod to test. Jo'Bashi had to struggle through multiple iterations of incremental change, especially the ones to the tool-hunting quest, where he kept clearing bandit lairs. And Ma'Lishus was the one who had to kill all the hired thugs. laugh.gif Cat Man Dhou just cruised around in his slick ride, making sure it could negotiate all the roads. Now he owns Sleek Creek in ESO, he's hankering for a wagon to park there.

Of all your "Race-based" houses; the Khajiit was my favorite one! Some mod author put out a mod that was all camping gear - tents, fires, etc. I loved that kind of lifestyle a lot more than the houses (with Housecarls whether you wanted them or not, lol). One of my houses had a rude Nord Housecarl that was eating his head off every time I entered (and it WASN'T Jerric, so he wasn't welcome) = I think he met with an unfortunate accident one day; really not sure how he managed to disappear...Oh yeah! I remember now! I got another mod that turned all the Housecarls into beautiful women with sweet personalities! (yeah, that is the story I'm going with...) rollinglaugh.gif rollinglaugh.gif rollinglaugh.gif

Cat Man Dhou is now half-way through his Rivenspire fishing, and that's the last zone for the Covenant. He's done all the starter zones, and Reaper's March because that's home. We're trying to decide if he'll do Coldharbour and Cyrodiil last, or in between the other Alliances.

Hunding's has acquired a lot of additional furnishings, like seashells, kelp and most recently a piece of coral. The dozen or so fish (Bass, Salmon, Trout and generic large, medium, small) may get used at Sleek Creek in baskets by the grill, but I suspect we'll be getting a lot more, and they'll be used all over. We keep seeing a lot of small boats that we'd like to park along the shore at Hunding's but the only one available is the fishing vessel for the Master Angler achievement, so that's what we're chasing.

And the cat likes fish, so he's happy doing it. tongue.gif

Edit: Finished Rivenspire, finished Covenant, moved on to Coldharbour, and have two more fish to go there. We decided to fish Artaeum next, and try and get the Pickled Fish Bowl recipe to aid further fishing. Although Artaeum itself is not part of Master Angler, I think the buff will pay off.

And the Undaunted event is upon us, so I have to decide the split of time.

Had one of the best sessions today.

Apart from exploring some interesting locations, Shonta Quassan took a fight against two bosses in Deshaan. He liked it better now that the festival is over, and there are less warriors around, so fights are a bit more challenging. He first attacked the Abomination and was alone against it for quite a while. Fortunately, the Abomination was capable of "just" directly attacking Shonta, so as long as he avoided its blows and healed himself in between with a spell that also made him run faster, he was fine. It wasn't long and two more warriors arrived and together they brought it down.

The fight with the second boss, Sharpfang, was even more interesting. Shonta Quassan brought it down three times. For the first time it was with a warrior called Drizzty, first they cleared the nearby Lagomere Dolmen, then they both moved to Sharpfang, as if they arranged to do it. The battle lasted a long time and just when Sharpfang was about to die, it fatally hit Drizzty, so Shonta brought it down alone, getting compliments from Drizzty afterwards. The second time he brought it down with a help of a very experienced warrior, so the battle didn't last very long. The third time he attacked it alone, being sure that someone will show up sooner or later. He used the same technique as with the Abomination but by the time, he brought Sharpfang down to 75% of his health, no one else came by and Shonta's creator's fingers already ached. Shonta was convinced that now someone will definitely come. A lot of time must have passed and Sharpfang was now at 50% of his health, nobody came to help and Shonta's creator's fingers ached even more. When the beast was down to around 40%, some knight came around - he didn't actually join the fight, but he cast some powerful healing or protection spell on Shonta so Sharpfang was doing him barely any damage. Then it didn't take long to bring the beast down.

The day ended with finding a hidden skyshard deep in the Vale of the Ghost Snake.

P.S.
If I needed to bring Sharpfang down on my own, it'd probably last about half an hour in real time. While fighting it, I was secretly praying, that my wife won't enter the living room and need my help with something. laugh.gif

Nice job, Shonta. smile.gif

The Abomination is pretty straightforward. Sharpfang is straightforward as well but has a very trollishly high health regeneration rate so without several players you're right - he can take awhile to bring down.

You're right, both of these beasts are capable only of inflicting damage upon touch, that's why Shonta has chances against them.

On one hand he's tough, on one hand he still gets pwn3d very easily, if some enemy hits him repeatedly, because his magicka doesn't replenish fast enough to be able to cast an armor / healing spell. He also has slim chances of surviving against a group of enemies. I know I'm being a little bit too impatient. tongue.gif

This is amazing progress! Wow, Shonta is one really tough character! Congrats on your day's combat; you earned it!

On one hand he's tough, on one hand he still gets pwn3d very easily, if some enemy hits him repeatedly, because his magicka doesn't replenish fast enough to be able to cast an armor / healing spell. He also has slim chances of surviving against a group of enemies. I know I'm being a little bit too impatient. tongue.gif

Heavy attacking with a Lightning staff will build your Magicka up quicker; Pia uses that all the time to keep her Magicka up in combat.

Also: you can also drink some of those free Restoration Potions that we keep getting in our "Sign On Rewards." They are tri-pots; so will boost all three stats (Health, Magicka, and Stamina).

** Argonians get a huge burst from potions; so use them whenever in combat.

Those potions have kept my characters alive MANY times! I have them set on my "Q" Hot Wheel so in combat if I see my Health or Magicka/Stamina dropping low I can just hit the "Q" key to boost myself back up.

(they have something like a 15 second cooldown period after using that you can't use another; but unless you are being swarmed that is usually just perfect timing).

Also, don't forget to use your Green Dragon Blood at least once on every "rotation" of your Skill Bars. It isn't a burst heal; it is a sustain heal = so use it early in the fight to sustain your health throughout the combat; and then again each "rotation."

If you want a burst heal; go into the Battlegrounds with Rader and boost your Alliance skill line up till you can take the "Vigor" skill. That is a powerful burst heal that also helps your Allies.

Also on your rotation = you should have Igneous Shield = that is always good to use going into a fight too; and it also helps any Allies with you fighting too.

Next = do you carry a Destruction staff on your front bar? If so, then put a Restoration staff on your second bar. Argonians are Master Healers; but you don't have to become a Healer to use the staff just for your own health.

Check your Skill Bars and see if any of your skills are Stamina based. If so, rotate them on your Skill Bar so that you alternate using Magicka and then Stamina when doing your rotations; that gives your Magicka time to replenish.

** Put your Green Dragon Blood and Igneous Shield early on your Skill Bar and throw them out coming into the fight so that you are boosted going in; and by the time the Boss gets your Health down you should be able to use that Dragon Blood again; and any time you need to between times you can drink a potion.

Also: check all your armor pieces to make sure all are enchanted with Magicka; and your jewelry should all be enchanted with either Magicka Regen (to sustain Shonta) or Spell Damage (to boost how fast you can take the enemies down.

If they are all giving you Spell Damage but you need more Sustain = change one of them to Magicka Regen.

Also, if you are dying too fast = it may be that your armor is too low for your Character's level. If your armor is ten levels below your character's level; you will die quickly. Let us make you some current armor.

Also, you can enchant your staves with either"Absorb Health" or "Absorb Magicka," and it will steal the Health or Magicka from whatever you are fighting and give it to you for an additional boost.
