Also, don't feel bad if you can't solo World Bosses; you aren't supposed to be able to! They are made for groups to take down - and don't forget that you don't have 810 Champion Points helping you, either. In order to solo World Bosses; you need a fully developed character; and even then might not be able to. (I can't; and have well over 1000 Champion Points). That just isn't something new characters are able to do; and that is okay too).

QUOTE(Lopov @ Nov 16 2019, 01:45 PM) *

On one hand he's tough, on one hand he still gets pwn3d very easily, if some enemy hits him repeatedly, because his magicka doesn't replenish fast enough to be able to cast an armor / healing spell. He also has slim chances of surviving against a group of enemies. I know I'm being a little bit too impatient. tongue.gif

How's his equipment. I last made him some armour etc. at level 34, and he's 43 now. Does he need a new set yet?

Thanks, he's fine for now. It's just that I'm too impatient when it comes to more difficult foes, on regular quests he never gets killed.

Cat Man Dhou continues fishing, but he's run out of guts (and then minnows), so he needs to stock up before he can do lakes. So we took him on a salt-water tour of all the zones he's not completed. So now all the zones' salt water holes are done, and he still needs more guts and minnows. We're doing all the foul holes next, as we have plenty of crawlers from all the Ancestor Silk nodes.

We have hit a sort of milestone, in that he's now caught a fish in every Alliance zone. None in Cyrodiil, but Coldharbour is done completely. We'll probably go back to Artaeum, even though we already have the Pickled Fish Bowl recipe, to get the other one - Takeaway Broth. That won't help him, but it's good for Stamina DPS characters. Craglorn is a maybe, as it's not part of Master Angler, but we often do a circuit for Nirncrux, and CMD may as well fish as he goes.

Kelp, seashells, and furnishing fish are building up, but at least they stack, so that doesn't cause a problem. And the furnishing slot limit will prevent the beach at Hunding's from completely getting covered. biggrin.gif

There are some foes in this game that he will never be able to solo; even Acadian's Buffy can't solo them all. It isn't always sheer force, either; sometimes it is the Boss's mechanics that you need to learn and figure out how to counter.

If you study the boss; sometimes you will notice they do a certain animation right before they use their worst damage (the one that kills in one hit, etc). It always pays to learn whatever each Boss's mechanics are so you can test ways to counter them when they are about to use their worst weapon.

What you do when you know something bad is coming is to either Block; Bash, or "Roll-Dodge" it.

Block: Hold down the Right Mouse key = when you have sunk Champion Points into Block; it becomes a very powerful combat tool because the boss can't hit you. In Fungal Grotto the second boss is rendered totally useless if you Block him; all you have to do is Block and DPS him down to solo him.

Bash: Press the Right Mouse key at the same time as you are pressing the Left Mouse key. You should see your character holding a semi-invisible shield and pushing it forward each time you do it = practice doing it; and when you get Champion Points put some into Bash, too. Bash can Interrupt the Boss when he is working up to use his worst weapon; and it can stun him for 3 seconds; giving you time to cast Healing on yourself; move out of his grasp; or just take advantage of his stunned state and nail the living daylights out of him. You can tell if you have stunned them; they will stagger back from the bash.

Roll-Dodge = double-tap the W, S, A, or D key to roll your character away from or out of the "red zone." The Roll-Dodge uses a lot of Stamina up; but can save your life in a bad fight. Have a triple restoration potion = one that boosts all (Health/Magicka/Stamina/and regens) on your "Q" and hit the "Q" key as soon as you start the Roll-Dodge to replenish yourself for his next attack.

Plus: Roll-Dodge keeps you in the battlegrounds so you don't reset the Boss's health line (leaving their battle grounds resets their health to full; and all your hard work getting their Health down ends up wasted).

How much Damage you can do is going to be important for bigger Bosses; but learning your enemy's tricks and avoiding them can be just what a character lower in DPS needs to accomplish that harder Boss.

Another thing you can do is to go to the Guild Hall and test out the different Mundus Stones there to see if one gives you better/higher DPS or Critical percentage.

Click on the "C" to see your character's stats and log whatever your character's stats and Mundus are now; then try the different Mundus Stones there to see if there is one that gives you better stats.

Also; test out your combat on any of the Combat Dummies at the Guild Hall to see how much DPS you are producing. After a minute or so; stop and check your Chat Box to see what your DPS reading was for the fight. (it will be printed in Gold colored type in your Chat Box).

As you try different Mundus Stones; use the Combat Dummies to test which Mundus improves your DPS the most.

Oh, and don't forget to always eat something before a big fight. This game is loaded down with free loaves of bread everywhere = pick one up and eat it; and watch how huge your health bar gets! My Tank only eats bread going into battle because it adds massive amounts of hit points to her! Then in combat she uses "Tri-Pot" potions to boost her Magicka, Stamina, and regen).

Also: always check before a battle with a big Boss to ensure your armor is repaired and your weapons are charged.

And remember; food and drink do not stack. If you eat a loaf of bread and then drink a "Drink;" the loaf of bread effects are gone; and all you have left is whatever the drink is.

But you CAN eat something and drink a Potion and get the effects of both the food and the potion; so keep that in mind when setting up your "Q" hot wheel for a big battle.

Shonta Quassan will soon leave Deshaan and move further south to Shadowfen. There are some things to do and some places to explore in Deshaan first, however. Right now he's at Shad Astula, which he finds one of the most interesting places so far. Before leaving for Deshaan, Shonta also wants to fight against Dremora Druitularg - he's already been at his altar a few times, but there weren't other warriors around, and he didn't dare to attack it alone. He found all but one skyshard, but it's out of his reach, hidden somewhere in the Forgotten Crypts, but since he didn't make it even past the first skeletons, that blocked his way, he didn't even try delving deeper.

Noticed that Shonta was online so grouped him up with Buffy to take on Druitularg - and we won, so Shonta has that completed now! tongue.gif

That was awesome, thanks! Shonta Quassan appreciates Buffy's help. She did most of the work, her health barely dropped. ohmy.gif I have laughed out loud when Druitularg focused his attention on Shonta, because all we could do, was run in circles, until he focused on Buffy again. laugh.gif

P.S.
Sorry if you waited for me for a while. As soon as I accepted the invitation to the group, I got a message, that you're in a different version of Deshaan, so I needed to travel to your version, which took a while. I don't know why we weren't in the "same" Deshaan, but it happened the same with Renee & me on Vvardenfell.

You and Shonta sure are improving quickly, Lopov. Took me probably longer than everyone else here to hit champion level, and you seem to be almost at the doorstep. You'll be able to take on a whole bunch of new challenges soon.

If you need to get through to the skyshard in Forgotten Crypts; just let me know when I'm online and I'll bring Pia over there to help you get to that Skyshard.

That happens a lot; even if you are grouped with someone you have to use "Travel to Player" to travel around the map with them and stay in the same instance. One of you should go first; (usually the "Leader" of the group) then the rest "Travel to" that person.

Shad Astula is one of the most fun questlines in the game; I loved it!!!!

Yeah, I'm like that, when I'm "in love" with some new game, I play it a lot, then I go through phases when I don't touch some game for years, for instance, I don't remember when I played Oblivion for the last time, it must have been years. Morrowind, even more. I must say that ESO is very addicting, as most of you already know.

Thanks, I might do this today or tomorrow, because I notice we're often online at the same time. But just FYI, Pia will probably need to do most of the work in the Forgotten Crypts, seeing that starting skeletons dispatched of Shonta so easy, like he was a common mudcrab. laugh.gif

I completed quests there yesterday, too bad there aren't any more. I was positively surprised that the game recognized deeds from before, so despite the Maulborn were threatening Shad Astula, Shonta had an option to tell the Arch-Mage that Vox is already dead.

The final part, when other members wait for you at the pier to bid you farewell, was nicely done.

Good to see Shonta making steady progress. Don't get too far ahead of the rest of us! biggrin.gif

Cat Man Dhou is making progress with his fishing. Since a shortage of guts meant he couldn't do everything in one zone at a time, he switched tactics to doing all the salt water, then all the foul, etc. leaving lakes to last, so he has a chance to gather the bait.

Last night he caught the last foul fish he needs (outside of Cyrodiil, anyway) and he's already done all the salt. We'll be moving on to the river fish next.

When he stopped doing complete zones, he'd completed all of the Covenant, and two zones of Pact, plus his home zone of Reaper's March. So 60 fish to go!

Yes, I hated leaving that school; that whole thing was so well done with the enjoyable NPC characters! And it was very touching how they came to see you off!

Not sure if they fixed the staff they give you as a reward; but that girl that kept messing up the spells gives you a "Staff of Finding" or something (it will be in your "Mementos" under your "Collections" Icon) = when the game first came out; if you used it on a friendly animal (for example, a horse) = the horse would skyrocket into the air. For months after it came out you would see horses flying through the air as you went through the game, it was hilarious! It was supposed to turn a large animal you were fighting into a small animal to fight; but never worked as intended = but was so much more fun!

I haven't played with mine in years; and since then they have added a "Justice System" to the game; so it may be considered an assault on a horse now if you do it = I wouldn't try it near a town, just in case, lol.

I might have to look up the WIKI on that staff to see what it does now, lol.

A few new developments to report from Cincy's travels, and I have probably forgotten a few more:

1) He is now a full-fledged Psijic Mage, at least as far as the game lets you go. Imbue Weapon and Meditate and HUGELY helpful abilities to have. We've morphed them and almost maxed them out.

2) Going back to Craglorn yesterday and the day before, Cincy and I discovered a couple of things. One, we are quite capable of handling group delves on our own. Two, we are indeed able to take on WBs there on our own too, at least the Anomalies. If you kill enough spellfiends and atronachs in your battle, they will stop spawning.

3) Several WBs from elsewhere have also met their end at Cincy's hands. We had already developed a very successful strategy for dealing with WBs and group areas, and now it's been fine-tuned a bit. Great success!

I feel that Cincy can take on almost anything that's out there. Soloing WBs from DLC areas might be a bit out of reach, and I'm sure there are a bunch of group dungeons that couldn't be soloed yet either (although I have not attempted any yet). We also still have a long way to go before we have even a chance at the cream of the crop in PvP. But I'm quite pleased with our progress.

Holy Cow, this is Awesome!!! Great job! That Psijic line isn't an easy one to get; you did really good to make it through that questline!

If you want to test yourself on soloing a Group Dungeon = Fungal Grotto is the easiest Group Dungeon in the game; it is what Bethesda used to call "Baby's First Dungeon."

54 more fish and grinding on.

Looking for furnishing ideas that use a lot of kelp. tongue.gif

Cat Man Dhou may well take up Buffy's offer of guts, as he's not finding herds of bunnies in the rivers he's fishing at the moment. For that matter, where did all the frogs go?

And we left Cyrodiil to last, so that may be another story.

I haven't done Cyrodiil yet either; but like you = was holding it out for last. (and I'm WAY further back than you are to being close to the end = more like at the beginning, lol).
