So it's not Dire Bramblepatch (as you say), it's not Caravan Crest either. I think it's not Druitularg's Altar either and I think it's not Mabrigash Burial Circle either. It could be the Grove of the Abomination or that hillock close to Narsis. I'm going to say the Grove of the Abomination, I remember some high rocks from that place, even the skeleton could be found between them.

The quest showing is at Seyda Neen, so I expect she is, too.

You can suppress the HUD in ESO, but the function isn't assigned to a key by default. And unfortunately, it's a per-character setting.
