QUOTE(Acadian @ Apr 22 2020, 12:51 PM) Saw in the guild roster that you were playing earlier today, Reaper. So pleased to see you in ESO and your game does indeed look fabulous!
Thanks. I would have played on PC but didn't have one that could play TESO very well, I usually played it on console. But I'm back on PC better then ever .

QUOTE(Sakiri @ Apr 22 2020, 02:01 PM) I never played ESO on console. Or any mmo really. Just seems like an awkward idea.
The one thing I LOVE about ESO is that you can play it just like a regular Elder Scrolls Game, sure there's social stuff you can do but mostly you can play at your own leisure. It's why I prefer ESO over WoW.

QUOTE(mirocu @ Apr 22 2020, 01:21 PM) I'm not a PC elitist; the NES is still king! I'm still not to keen on PC gaming cause mostly with every game that comes out you need to update your rig and that can be a pricey hobby. At least with consoles like the Playstation or Xbox One the game will run no matter what.

Which is why--even though I greatly prefer PC gaming over consoles--the whole PC Master Race thing is so stupid. Elitists actually get offended that somebody would want to play on something that isn't a computer. But I'm not trying to play all the latest and most technologically intensive games, so I'm not constantly trying to upgrade my rig. I'll joke about being part of the PC Master Race, but the people who actually believe they are superior because of what they game on are idiots. I remember seeing a legitimate argument from somebody who apparently felt the need to lecture people on all of the reasons PC was the only real way to play games that featured a webpage that was practically a whole book's length. That someone actually took the time to write it up was quite sad.

Related to this, here is an article about trying to build a PC to match PS5 specs for the same price as the PS5 at launch. I was curious if it could even be done. As for PC gaming, I haven’t had to upgrade a single piece in my PC since I built it and it runs every game I’ve thrown at it on “ultra” settings. That said, I built it with longevity in mind so I spent a little more on some components than was technically necessary at the time. That year before I built it, I was saving up and buying components like some people buy guns! Yep. I say let people play games however they prefer. If they are happy with consoles, that’s fine! If they decide they want to save up and build a more powerful pc, that’s also fine. In the end, it’s all about games anyway.

I like to joke about being a PC Snob too. But it is just a joke. Play however you like. Back in the day I owned a Sega. I bought it just to play Soul Caliber. My girlfriend had it, and I loved playing it at her place. So I went out and bought one for myself, played the crap out of Soul Caliber, and never touched it again once I 'beat' the game with every character. What really keeps me away from Consoles is I hate the controllers. They feel slow, crude, and clunky in my hands, when compared to a keyboard and mouse. That year before I built it, I was saving up and buying components like some people buy guns! That is a really interesting article! Like you, I built my current PC about 7 or 8 years ago. I am not really sure how long ago it was. I spent about 2k on it, because I wanted something that was going to be able to play Skyrim on Ultra settings. Since then I had to replace the graphics card because the old one died. But other than that, I have never had to upgrade it in any way to keep up with technology. I don't see having to for at least another 5 or 10 years, to be honest. Maybe not even then. On the other hand, if you aren't concerned about playing games at the very highest settings, you can go buy a PC at Micro Center or Best Buy for $300 - $400, and put a decent gpu in it for about the same price, and still have a serious gaming rig. My second PC, that I use for burning discs and keeping backups, is like that, except without the add on gpu. It could run any game on it just fine, even it not at x16 Anti-Aliasing and so forth.

I don't have that problem as I still play the games I bought my rig for. Also; did I just spark a whole conversation here just by writing that NES/PC thing? *makes grand gestures* -DANCE, PUPPETS! DANCE!! *laughs in a maniacal fashion*

It's why I prefer ESO over WoW. I totally missed this response. See, I no life MMOs. I'm a housewife, and have about 15 hours a day to play if I want to. This leads me to a problem with ESO: I ran out of single player gameplay, and the group play sucks. This is why i play WoW. I prefer group play in MMOs, and if I don't feel like that, I have 7 full expansions worth of stuff i can do. Even the group content from old expansions is soloable now. Waltz in, two shot boss, collect shiny loot for appearance farming or whatnot. A lot of people go back and collect armor sets for transmogrification, which is WoWs version of ESO's costume system. I farm for those sets quite often. Haha.
