I clicked my forum signature a few minutes ago. Rather than launch my ancient "Thoughts on a Second Play-Through" Oblivion thread in the old official forums, it now takes me to an overview of the new official forums. That being the case, my signature has been changed to point to my decrepit YouTube channel.

I didn't know a youtube channel could be decrepit

I'm sure there are lots of decrepit YouTube channels. I was going to add, "but there's only one Decrepit channel." Turns out that isn't the case. A number of channels begin with Decrepit.

My initial thought was to change my signature to "My crappier(?) than Sakiri's YouTube channel". But it seems Sakiri's signature has changed too, so there's no point in it.

My videos are all hidden.

YouTube keeps changing it's crap around and I haven't decided on if I want to weather the garbage.

Oh, your channel is about games? It must be aimed at kids, let's restrict your features. Oh, you're not following the "for kids" rules? Let's restrict you some more. Say the wrong word? Your video will never be seen by the public.

But that's why I shut it down. Like heck it's for kids. The games rated M and if I ever do commentary it'll be full of f bombs like my normal everyday language.

Yup, games and Not for Kids. Only my very earliest uploads are 'voiced', so I've little to worry about so far as profanity goes. As I don't monetize, YouTube has very little to object, standards wise. I wonder if your vids would pass scrutiny if they were flagged for adult audiences only? I've seen some pretty risqué stuff on YouTube, though admittedly it wasn't due to language.

Flagging as adults only can get you in trouble if they decide that it can be for kids. Also restricts your stuff.

I don't want comments restricted due to some arbitrary BS. That's why I'm taking offense to it. Kids only means no comments.

I don't monetize either. Youtube HATES people that don't monetize. They make no money off you, so you're "leeching" off of them.

if BitChute wasn't such a pain in the neck to upload to, I'd do that. But they want a thumbnail picture to add to the video, unlike Youtube that generates that for you, and I can't be bothered to take a screenshot I want to use as a thumbnail. It's more complicated to upload there, for sure, but I have a single video up there.

<nods> They for sure want folk earning funds for them! And I certainly appreciate that we are allowed to publish there without need to monetize. I forgot about BitChute. Seems to me I might have an account there. Never use it for anything. Not even watching. Can't recall why, except a vague recollection that back when I discovered it most of the videos on display didn't much appeal to me. Maybe I'll visit there later today and see what it's like nowadays.

Visited Bitchute. Now I know why I never took to it back in the day. That hasn't changed, it seems.

If you don't have it on your phone, it'll want you to download it. We had this discussion before.

Decrepit, I use BitChute because a few political commentators I follow do exclusives over there. The goal is to get everyone worth a crap OFF YouTube because of their restrictive, authoritarian measures. BitChute is located in the UK iirc, so none of this legal nonsense in the US applies. Nor the EU nonsense. So we'll see what happens.

If you're just looking for simpler stuff that isn't political or controversial, you should be fine on YouTube.

It's not just phones. Even on PC it wants to download something. Happened with the flyby Haven post, too.

Really weird because I tried opening it on my phone, opened the app immediately, no downloading of anything.

Not sure why it's try DL on PC. Esp when it's just a YouTube link.
