QUOTE(Renee @ Sep 12 2020, 04:53 PM) macole: Do you ever roll new characters? If so, TU is highly recommended by me. So many options, ways to start the game.
Used to do so a lot when the game was new. Rarely now though since I tend to play long sessions 2 years and more. My current Oblivion session is now more than three years. Interestingly it was started just to complete quest mods that I have always included but never finished e.g. Adense Epic Dungeon, The Ayleid Steps, Hentai Mania II, and others.

Acadian: so my geeked-out roleplay with Balztu is that she's not supposed to speak much of whatever the "common" language is supposed to be. In fact as I was gaming with her, I switched the Oblivion.ini file from English to French, just so (from my perspective) I barely understand what anybody's saying. My daughter speaks French so I had this idea that she could sit alongside me occasionally while I game, and act as a translator. I'm not sure if this idea will work though. According to Lopov, he's thinking I'll probably need to install some kind of a language pack, which is starting to sound like a hassle. I don't want to delay getting her to Valenwood, you know? I've been waiting too long to get there. But that "foreign language" idea does still intrigue me. That was one of the ideas with my Renee Gade III. She'd do all the quest mod stuff I was interested in like Vampire Hunters and Fighters Guild Quests. I did most of the vanilla quests on consoles, you see. Maybe she'll do Archeology Guild some day. And Lost Spires. How do we get to Valenwood? I am assuming we get there from Anvil's dock. Maybe I should read the actual readme. This post has been edited by Renee: Sep 23 2020, 01:51 AM

From the East Gate of Skingrad head east a short distance. Turn right at the road sign that reads Arenthia. Continue on past Bloodcrust Cave. Just before Silorn take a right turn. The road runs along the south side of Castle Skingrad to a bridge crossing the Strid River that will take you to Valenwood. Or you could ford swim the Strid at any point. Oh, the Archeology Guild and The Lost Spires is one and the same mod. This post has been edited by macole: Sep 23 2020, 05:15 AM

Balztu needs no keys, Balztu has warhamma! How was she able to meet with Glarthir outside of Skingrad? Balztu goes to Valenwood - nice wooden bridge! Ooh nice, she speaks in German. I can be your translator if you want. Basically, that lady is giving you the standard arrest dialogue. Looking forward to more pics from Valenwood! macole: I can't thank you enough for your assistance. Even just answering simple questions like "which .esps do I install?" helps a lot. Because the original mod author abandoned his or her project, apparently due to Skyrim coming out in 2011 (I am basing this theory on the final update of VI, which was October 2011. Such a shame). Lopov: Balztu BIG! When she got arrested she got sent to Skingrad. Apparently Valenwood has some Imperial influence. Anyway, she did not spend much time in the town, since she's adverse to walled places. I assume Glarthir saw her and followed her out of town. Yes, you can help translate the German text dialog. I am really tempted to try using a German language pack as well, if you can point me in the right direction. Acadian: Oh nice, so VI does have some guilds. Balztu won't bother with those, but some day when Lady Saga returns she'll have places to stay, I assume. SubRosa: Yes, the entrance to Valenwood is located just south of Skingrad. There is no loading screen, just walk right over the bridge. Dang. Still haven't loaded the next set of pics to imgur yet. Well, next time. This post has been edited by Renee: Oct 1 2020, 04:31 PM

Renee, here are tips how to change the in-game language. I own the Steam version, so the second method worked for me.

Graci, Lopov. *curtsies* -------- Arenthia -- (this is the first town of Valenwood) Foggy ArenthiaKvatch in DistanceIC in DistanceNotes: as Balztu has explored Valenwood outside of town, I have found its countryside is a bit too much like Cyrodiil's, but maybe this is because it's still close to Cyrodiil. Maybe different trees and foliage eventually show. Another thing is Rosa's Witchcraft is NEEDED for this mod. Either that, or I'll have to mess with Leveled Lists to try to introduce more peaceful creatures. Really getting tired of fighting bear after bear.

I don't often comment on this thread; but HOLY COW! That is the most perfect and gorgeous Oblivion game I've ever seen! Would you share which graphics enhancer mods you are using and some details on your rig? These are AWESOME !!!! (also, your character doesn't have the usual potato face either, want to share how you got around that too?)
Really great looking game you have there; I wish my Oblivion looked that good!
Thanks, mALXy! I'll try to post the load order when I get home tonight. It's actually pretty light, with most of them being bug or engine fixes.
