I need to do something about my weight. I'm now circa 160lb. I want to be circa 140lb, what I weighed between circa 2000 and late 2019. Thing is, I've not changed my diet in any appreciable way. If anything, I've eaten less overall since the pandemic hit, completely cutting out infrequent sit-down restaurant splurge meals. I figure maybe it's an age thing, and me being even more inactive than ever before.

I don't plan to alter my daily breakfast. Too much goodness there. Oalmeal and fresh fruit.

I don't plan to alter my daily supper. Salad with lots of veggies and tuna. True, I ought to pick a less decadent dressing that Thousand Isle. But, I lost that battle years ago. Besides, I used it for years when my weigh remained more or less where I want it.

That leaves lunch. I've been dissatisfied with my standard lunches for some time. Especially those days I eat soup. I like my Wowbutter sammiches well enough, but admit they are not low-cal.

Problem with lunch is, what to do with it? It has remain ultra cheap. Yet preferably healthy. Or at least not overly unhealthy. Nor should it mimic either breakfast or supper. And of course it must contain no migraine triggers. I've given it some though. Nothing satisfactory comes to mind. Yet.

I felt bloated at lunchtime today. Yet, my body/mind told me to eat something. I decided on one slice of toasted 100% Whole Wheat Bread, smeared with a thin layer of Wickles Spicy Red Sandwich Spread. A half-apple for dessert. Water to drink. I figure that's a good 70 calories max, plus whatever the apple half is. It was okay. It appeased my hunger cravings, in any case. I still feel bloated.

An issue with Wickles. Used as it was during lunch, I can tell it contains a migraine trigger. In the almost used, it gives me only a minor 'buzz', that will fade on its own without treatment. During suppers, it's too diluted by other ingredients to cause issue.

I honestly wouldn't mind giving up lunches altogether, except for special occasions. Or maybe just an apple half plus something else inconsequential but healthy? We shall see.

I think it's just lower metabolism that comes with age plus you being less active. Perhaps keep your diet and go for long walks? There must be a good area where you live for that smile.gif

My weights stayed steady at 240 for quite some time but I need to lose about half that.

I don't eat much, and exercise hurts.

I find it both boring and painful. I don't mind boring. Sure, a nice scenic landscape is ideal. But I'll walk any old where, so long as its safe and the weather bearable. My problem is that, after my unfortunate 2019 dead-of-summer mowing 'incident', I find I can only walk so many days until I start feeling poorly and need to stop. Plus, winter is right out. I don't take cold weather well. Not even our now sorry excuse for winters. (I once would exercise-walk in sub-freezing temperatures. (Properly attired, of course.) Those days are long gone.)

I don't mind going out in the cold, and my walks are far from exciting, but I'll say it, I'm flat out fat and my back just can't handle it. My thigh starts to go numb, too sometimes. It's really annoying.

No, as our boss has taken up a habit of not showing up on Fridays anymore (he's 81 this year), I figured that since I have plenty space in my building for once, I'm gonna park my car there first thing tomorrow, open all the doors and let it thoroughly thaw and dry! biggrin.gif

Over 20yrs ago, when I was the heaviest I've ever been, my ankles gave me the most grief. By the end of a work-shift they were so painful I needed to stay off them until leaving for work next day. My knees were bad too, but that happened several years prior, when I was in excellent condition.

I can't put weight on my knees. Probably got some tears there. Getting on my knees for anything is painful.

I feel ya. I'm not quite 40 but feels like I'm twice that sometimes.

Well poot! Got an email from my clinic, the equivalent of the proverbial 'letter on the mantle'. According to them, the bulk of the state's C19 vaccine allocations are going to Pharmacies, not clinics / hospitals. As of now, no further vaccinations are being scheduled. Their only recommendation, try a local pharmacy.

I contacted three:

Walmart Pharmacy (a live person on the phone!) says to call again a week from now, the soonest they'll know when more vaccine is available. No mention of being placed on a list.

One dedicated Pharmacy chain (web access only, no direct phone contact for vaccine scheduling) lists several of their statewide Pharmacies that handle C19 vaccines. None are anywhere close to me.

One dedicated, truly local Pharmacy (web access only for Vaccine scheduling) let me fill out and submit an application online. Haven't gotten a reply.

So much for being in Phase 1B and getting vaccinated ahead of most people.

<nods> My knees don't bother me much so long as I avoid bending them beyond a certain point or, heaven forbid, squatting!

Last time I attempted to top off my tires (which I let get dangerously low) I managed two but then admitted defeat and drove to our (truly) local auto repair shop and asked them to finish the job for me. A humbling experience. Can't recall why I didn't do as I normally do and drop so that I'm basically sitting on my rump on the pavement with my legs stretched out comfortably. Maybe it was a rainy day and the pavement too wet? That doesn't ring quite true, but there was a legic reason why I visited the auto shop.

Not surprising, I usually drop on my butt to do stuff too. Getting back up without putting weight on the front of my knees is an art form, I'll tell ya.

As a side note, I'm in phase 2 for vaccination if I want it because my husband is in phase 2. I feel obligated despite not wanting to get a rushed vaccine. Of course, it'll still probably be a few months because we have only gotten less than 4 thousand doses so far, and no one in my county has gotten their second one yet.
