Yesterday was an unpleasantly strange gaming day.
After adding a new town/station to my goof-around TpF2 mainline, the game began showing video corruption after several minutes p. It then terminated to desktop. It did so twice in a row No idea what's going on. I installed a couple of mods earlier in the day, so deleted the one save in which they were active. Doing so, I lost one town, its station, and tracks between to the nearest town. Don't know if that solves the issue. Was too burned out to test afterward.
TpF1 wise, my latest save corrupted. That never happened (in TpF1) before. That save too was deleted. Luckily, I did nothing of consequence that save. The prior save is fine, so no harm done. Unless this signals a new trend.
This morning I purchased a Trainz 'First Class Ticket', which allows me to download off its 'Download Station' at full speed. That's the game's gimmick. Without a Ticket, DL speeds are more or less dial-up, thus unusable. Still, it's a cheaper gimmick than Train Simulator's. I bought a 12-month ticket, on sale for $19.99, to which I applied a $5.00 discount. So a year of quality downloading for $15US.
I also signed on to Trains 2019 SP3 beta. Funny thing is, I'm not playing any Trainz at this time.

Yet another Transport Fever train-ride video rears its ugly head. A short passenger run from Sittingbourne and South Cave, then back again. Most of the route is newly landscaped. Some stutter is present, only objectionable (imo) during a portion of the return journey. (video) Transport Fever Scenic Excursions ep 44 - Sittingbourne to South Cave Passenger Service (video) Almost forget to mention it, a consequence of having uploaded it days early combined with senility. Otherwise, I've nothing to mention game wise.

My Horse Breeding program in Black Desert is coming along really well! As of this morning; my first foal just started training (actually the second born foal; but the first to begin training). So far she is behaving perfectly! (very unusual for the females; they tend to be a lot less pliable than the males in this game). The reason she was started first was because she is just a Tier 6; all the other foals so far have been Tier 7's. Here she is: https://imgur.com/BEAE62sAlso, my last set of Tier 5 breeding foundation horses were also bred: Oreo: https://imgur.com/ZFXOMUVAnd Cookie: https://imgur.com/ZEGwh2zAnd WOO HOO! They produced a Tier 7 foal!!! "Butterscotch" was born this morning! She is beautiful; and has some very unusual markings! You can see her in this screenshot; she is the one being rubbed down by the goblin, lol: https://imgur.com/Rurm7vfSo far my breeding program has produced all foals of higher Tiers than their parents; which is really a good beginning! Oreo and Cookie will be bred one more time; and then they will be traded for another foal to eventually train and breed. This post has been edited by mALX: Feb 21 2021, 10:47 PM

Been reading more than gaming lately. However, I've driven some TS2021 QuickDrives, all with a GWR Pannier 57xx pulling three passenger coaches. Today's runs, unlike yesterday's, all went well. Worst thing I did was stop the train so that the loco-end of its first coach was a smidgen too far forward at one station. To my surprise, I had no trouble (today) with any uphill slopes. (Yesterday they defeated me.)
ADDENDUM: Attempted another TS2021 QuickDrive. Pleasant route with nice trackside scenery, by TS2021 standards. Long too. Was doing well, despite much of drive being uphill. Then, I didn't notice an approaching station, while going downhill, until the train was rather close to it. I applied the maximum possible braking pressure. Didn't help. The train's loco passed beyond the station platform. At that point I hit escape and ended the session. Haven't made that mistake in ever so long, other than every minor infractions.

Both are just Tier 6's; both females: Strawberry Rose: https://imgur.com/Tx8TyH7Hydra: https://imgur.com/F7GjmDc** Oreo and Cookie have been retired from the breeding program. I no longer have any Tier 5 horses; going to start in on the Tier 6 Training and will start the Tier 6 breeding program soon. My second foal born (also a Tier 6) is in training still; haven't pushed her so far: War Sea in Training: https://imgur.com/rXODDAJI seem to be producing all females; looks like I'll be paying a bunch of stud fees in the future; or buying a stud if I can't seem to produce one. While the world will rejoice, I'm a bit saddened that my on-again off-again TpF Scenic Excursion series will likely soon draw to a close. Rode two train lines this morning, in prelude to 'filming' them for possible upcoming episodes. As anyone who has seen the series' more recent entries knows, I tolerate a bit of choppiness. I've no other choice. But, I have to draw the line somewhere. Those two train rides crossed that line. Without OBS running.
I have a few more potential episodes planned, with main-ride footage already captured. There 'might' be a few other parts of the map where choppiness is not yet deadly. I always thought to take the series to 50 numeric episodes minimum. My guess is that I'll either hit that or stop an episode or two short. (The series already contains over 50 videos, since many episodes are split into two parts.)
TS2021 wise, I drove a British Railway "Large Prairie" pulled passenger train during an enjoyable QuickDrive session this morning. I'd attempted that same route before, always with small locomotives that struggled with its frequent, sometimes long uphill climbs. The Prairie handled those climbs without breaking a sweat. It helped that I confined the train to three coaches.

I’ve ‘published’ another Transport Fever Scenic Excursions episode. A train ride between Morley and Henley and back again, with stops at Polegate mid-route both ways. It’s the series’ first visit to Polegate and Henley, that section of map only now receiving scenery. Like all recent episodes, stutter is present. It’s overlookably mild for the most part, in my opinion bothersome only during portions of the return trip. Text narrative is decidedly sub-par due to me being too muddleheaded to do better within time-span I allotted myself to complete the project. Be that as it, I rather like the route and the tank locomotive that pulls our train. (video) Transport Fever Scenic Excursions ep 45, Morley-Henley Passenger Service (video)

I was able to get Heretic 2 working, after downloading it from this site. It was a pain in the rear to install and get working. I kept getting prompts for the cd. In the end I had to use the quake.dll from the Enhancement Pack v1.07 to get it to play. I set it to use OpenGL, but it keeps defaulting to the Software Renderer. However, it is clearly using 3d. I also had to fiddle with the resolution. This version of the .dll won't do 1920 x 1080. The next highest resolution trails off the bottom of the screen, and won't work fullscreen. So in the end I had to set it to 1280 x 960. I also found a way to get modded skins to work in the single player game. In a single-player game, open the console and type: allowillegalskins 1 skin [skinname] where [skinname] is the name of the skin you want. For the female model, the command is: skin female/[skinname] Thankfully, the download contained a lot of goodies, including a ton of extra skins.

QUOTE(RaderOfTheLostArk @ Mar 13 2021, 09:46 AM) A few days ago, I started playing Enderal, that free total conversion mod for Skyrim. Wow, is it good so far. I got sucked right into it and I'm enjoying it a lot. Maybe I should make a topic for Enderal later?
If you have heard of Nehrim, the free total conversion mod for Oblivion, then they are both related. They are set in the same world and Nehrim is referred to many times in Enderal. I haven't played that one yet, but I'm going to after I finish Enderal.
I've heard good things about both Nehrim and Enderal but have never played either one.
