I bought Horizon: Zero Dawn when Gog had it on sale recently. I have not really played it yet, except to make sure it runs. I am still too caught up with other games. Speaking of which, even though I had been meaning to do another playthrough of Neverwinter Nights 1 with January as a Paladin, I got sidetracked. I watched the live action GI Joe movies with one of my neighbors and was amazed at how much The Baroness reminded me of HecateSo now I am playing Hecate in Fallout 4 again.

Just finished an enjoyable 1hr passenger excursion from Portsmouth to Liss, driving an SECR class C in Southern unlined black livery, pulling five ExSECR 'birdcage' coaches in Southern Green. The trip was particularly interesting due to...
1) I bought this DTG route for around three bucks during a Steam Sale (it's an older route, from 2012) and had never gotten around to using it. Turns out, scenery is surprisingly well done, for its day. At least the part of the route I drove is. Much of it is suburban, lots of frequent station-stops, with occasional lengthy stretches of countryside to allow the train to strut its stuff unhindered.
2) After a few quickly aborted attempts driving locos I decided weren't ideally suited to the run, I settled on an SECR Class C, a third-party loco I'd not driven since early in my TS2021 stay, back when I didn't know how to drive steam locos. (As if I know now. LOL) It fits the role of a suburban passenger hauler right well, and is fun to drive.
Had one nerve-racking moment when, while off in la-la land admiring trackside scenery, I checked the HUD and found myself barreling toward a fast approaching station-stop. I had no idea if I could stop the train in time. The answer turned out to be yes, I could, without discomforting passengers. (The game measures and dings you for that). But I was sweating bullets there for a bit.
I enjoy the run well enough to consider 'filming' it for an upcoming video episode or two.

QUOTE(Acadian @ Sep 18 2021, 04:05 PM) Oh, that is funny about your emergency (almost) stop! Yeah it is ... after the fact. If there's one thing bugs me to no end, it's overshooting a station stop. (Which didn't happen in this case.) It somehow embarrasses me, even though I'm the only one who will ever see it happen. We'll, who knows? Maybe I'll include a station overshoot in some future video, if I feel it serves a useful purpose. I did, after all, publish a video where I overshoot a red signal. And of course I've published another TS2021 video, the continuation and conclusion of the passenger run begun the previous episode. No pro-level Train Sim drivers' egos were harmed during the making of this episode: (video) TS2021 ep13, Westbourne-On-Sea Passenger Run, Part 1 - GWR 3032 Achilles Class "Dean Single" steam loco (video) Discounting a few TS2021 QuickDrive sessions, I remain in a gaming slump.

Another TS2021 video, my third on Western Branch Lines (Steam Workshop route). This one has two strikes against it from the get go. First, I've a copyright claim on the intro music. I chose not to dispute it despite being in the right. Second, YT processing isn't only kind to visuals. I rendered out a second upload copy in case the issue was on my end. Nope. After upload and processing, it looked every bit as distorted as the first, possibly a bit more so. It is what it is. I've done next to no game playing for over a week. Been too dedicated to reading. However, a new TS2021 episode reached its publish date this morning. My fourth episode devoted to Western Branch Lines, Steam Workshop route. It's a short run, quite scenically pleasant. Only after upload and processing did I realize that my conclusion as to when the locomotive could have been loaned to WBL is very likely incorrect. QUOTE(Acadian @ Sep 13 2021, 11:36 AM) Still playing ESO here. Only been 5 years and 10,000 hours in game with no end in sight. That said, when I took puter to the shoppe for its annual check up, we worked some magicks on it to provide loads more hard data storage capability so I could get and install Horizon Zero Dawn for PC if I want. Like ESO it is a memory space hog.
I need to get back into playing that but I'm so far behind on DLC.

Recently made my first visits in forever to Trainz 2019. Can no longer drive its steam train in expert mode. It doesn't help that the sliders for Regulator and Reverser are reversed from how TS2021 placed them. Worse, the game kept crashing on me. I later notice that my Trainz 2019 install was somewhat out of date. After scratching my head over this for some time, it dawned on my that, early this year, I opted into the SP2 beta. The game is now on SP4. Digging through the game's Steam properties, I found the Beta opt-in box, cancelled out of SP2, and voilà, Trainz 2019 automatically updated to SP4. The one SP4 session I played since then didn't crash, though I didn't play long enough to truly test stability. On a happy note, during that session, choppiness seemed substantially reduced. Related, one of my fave Trainz routes, Healesville, is getting a total makeover to Trainz 2019 standards. Alas, it's such a substantial redo that it's considered a separate product, not an update to current Healesville. Thus, I'll need to pay full price for it. It's 'very' tempting. The first Trainz product that's tempted me since switching allegiance to Train Simulator. (link) VR Healesville 1913-1920 TSR19 (link)

I understand Khajiit is happy, that game is well famous for being excellent It’s in the top 3 on Khajiit’s “Nostalgia Colored Glasses List”!
