If we recall our Physics lessons where for some reason symbols for properties are given Greek letters….Physicists like to be confusing to regular folk.

So….Without looking it up….How much can I remember?….and what do we use the letters to mean?
This will be fun….and I will probably get some wrong, but here goes nothing!

A Alpha - I think it a Helium atom nucleus emitted as radiation (or wolf pack leader)
B Beta - A free electron emitted as radiation..(or a non aggressive male Lol)
K Kappa - Dunno never saw it used, but I know if it..maybe its our ‘K’
Delta - A triangle symbol indicating a rate of change of some variable…and Brainwaves
Epsilon - Dunno
Fi - Sketchy on this one. Is it like an O with a vertical line through it?
G - Gamma - easy. Ionising Ultra short wavelength electromagnetic radiation…Hulk juice Lol
H - No idea
I - No idea
J - No idea
K - Could be Kappa from ‘C’ above
L - Lamda - Used to denote Wavelength (also the oxygen sensor in a car exhaust System)
M - Mu - Dunno what its used for…The symbol of it could be the one used for ‘Micro’
N - Nu - Dunno never seen it used, I’m only aware of it
O - Omega. Symbol for Ohms of electrical Resistance and symbolises “The end”
P - Pi - The Japanese arch symbol meaning the number 3 1/7
Q - Dunno..Some mega being in Star Trek (John DeLancie) Lol
R - Dunno
S - Sigma the backwards capital E shape…something to do with Statistics?
T - Theta the angle between two lines where they meet…and A Brainwave
U - Upsilon Dunno never seen it expressed…Wasn’t he a Timelord from old Galifrey
V- Dunno
W - Dunno
X - Dunno
Y - Dunno…..Could be Yotta which is a number of 10e24 Our Sun outputs 6 Yotta Watts iirc
Z - Dunno…..Could be Zetta which is a number of 10e21

That’s the NATO Phonetic Alphabet. It’s actually pretty handy for any communication over phones that you are having to spell out stuff. I use it all the time at my job.

I prefer subbing in fun words when people ask for clarification.
