I decided to knuckle down and reinstall from scratch. I guess it is time to go watch a movie while I wait.

No, I am sticking with original Skyrim. The graphical 'improvements' that SE provides are all things I would turn off. But worse, I would have to convert at least a hundred of my own self-created mods to SE, which I just do not feel like doing.

Does anyone know why on my youtube home page there are only two videos in a row? It used to be four, then it became three and now only two??


Edit: I googled and all I came up with was a bunch of people as peeved off as me. No solution.

On Firefox I use the add-on "Zoom Page WE" which lets me adjust page magnification on a page by page basis. I don't know what my 'default YT homepage would show otherwise, but with Zoom Page I see four recommendations per row.

I looked into it but it didn't change things for me. Think I'll just stick with manually zoom out then in again, that seems to fix it enough and is a quick thing to do. Not getting four per row but at least I'm back to three again.

What the . . . ?????

On YouTube earlier today, a new video began playing soon as the one I was watching ended. I noticed autoplay was ON. I assumed I had somehow enabled it by accident, so returned it to disabled. But . . . it keeps switching itself back on. I find no 'master switch' for it in YouTube Settings. While in Settings, I notice that the setting for 'play video in mini widow when hovering over thumbnail' had been re-enabled. At least the master setting exists, thank the Nine. I switched in back off and will hope for the best. But autoplay is bugging the heck out of me. Anyone experiencing this?

ADDENDUM:
I've narrowed it down. Disabling Autoplay has not completely gone away. For me, it still works, except when I right-click on a video and select to "Open in a new tab/window". That's when it no long stays disabled. Sadly, that's how I watch a good 95-plus percent of YouTube videos. To the plus, this points to the possibility of it being an honest mistake rather than a sinister plot to further lessen our YT experience. Time will tell, I reckon.

Just checked and when I right-click and open in new window I don't get the auto-play.

I will try the YouTube too. I've been on a vaudeville kick lately, so I'll watch a turn-of-19th century video and see if it autoplays into a second video. Be back.

YouTube has been autoplaying for me since always... Which is why I never watch it. And you are saying I should be able to turn this off?

There is a simple way to disable autoplay. At the bottom of each video, in line with where you change video resolution, audio volume, etc., is an autoplay switch. Move it to the OFF/left position and voilà, disabled. It still works for me in certain scenarios. If I choose to watch a video by simply clicking on it, thus replacing my recommendations page, the selected video plays with autoplay still disabled. My issue is that I prefer to right-click a video thumbnail and select Open Link in New Tab. The video then opens in its own tab, but with autoplay switched back ON. Until today it never did so.

Now, I can simply switch it to OFF again while watching a video and not have autoplay kick in. But I have to do so every time I launch a video as a new tab. It gets old, and my ability to remember to switch off each video is these days spotty at best. But again, you can indeed easily disable it.

Yes, there is a way. But over the years, the You Tube dashboard has become more and more complicated. So nowadays I think we might have to dig for it.

Unless it's one of those things which is sooo obvious, I am not seeing the way to turn it off.

I detest this even more than autoplay, which I can at least switch off each video (if I remember to). I'm now back to thinking this more likely a sinister plot than an honest mistake, but we shall see.

Sadly, when everything is working fine but the people behind it still has an urge to "make things better", this is what happens. Features we like disappear and features we don't want are introduced

Shutting YouTube auto play off works for me. My problem is that someone in my house keeps turning it back on.

I'm likely jinxing myself, but autoplay suddenly began to remain disabled several hours ago. What's more, that retched mini-window-on-hover now also stays disabled.

The recent YouTube autoplay / mini-window SNAFU was indeed an honest glitch on their end, and is now no more.

I now face another issue. One that's been creeping up on me for some time. It's not yet crisis level, but will soon get there if I don't take steps to fix it. Which I should be able to do, but can't. For now.

The issue: my C:\ partition is nearly out of free space. I've owned Partition Master Pro for years, which will solve this for me in minutes. But . . . after updating it to the latest version, it will no longer accept my activation code. I bought a 'lifetime' license edition, so should be able to activate it. I just sent Easeus an email about the situation. Hopefully they'll send me a useable activation key, as they've done in the past.

I wouldn't have this issue at all did not so many programs automatically install themselves on C:\ without offering the option to use another partition. (I prefer reserving C:\ solely for Windows and key system utilities (like Partition Master.)
