Horizon Zero Dawn is good fun.

That's encouraging to hear as I've been looking at it for some time. Are you playing it on PC?

Yeah, I nabbed it on sale at GOG a while back.

Been watching videos on Elden Ring and it looks interesting.

The problem I have with it is that it is from the makers of the Darksouls and Bloodborne games, and therefore difficult for the sake of being difficult. That’s just not appealing to me, and everything I’ve read about the game says it’s just like one of the other games from this company, just set in an open world. Also, and this is just me being bitter, George R.R. Martin was involved in Elden Ring’s writing. He’s on my [censored]-list because he’s doing stuff like this instead of finishing the A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels, which I was fairly invested in. I don’t want to support anything he does until he finishes that damn series. Grumble grumble.

I tried playing Bloodborne and Dark Souls Remastered but couldn't get into it. Closest thing I've been is Fallen Order which I need to get back into, that was a beautiful SW game.

I agree with Khajiit that difficult for the sake of being difficult is not my kind of game. And indeed I didn't get very far with Dark Souls - that was too difficult for me. But I did like the idea of exploring a dungeon world and finding scraps of information here and there so that you have to piece the story together yourself rather than be led through a Main Quest and Side Quests and hand held on every step. From what I read about the new game, it is supposed to be less difficult and more about piecing together the story, so at least I am willing to try it.

Have now cleared four outer rim sectors in Rebellion and zero resistance thus far. The search for Mon Mothma, Luke Skywalker and the rebel base continues.

Oh, and I added 48 fighters to Coruscant today, giving a total of 300 TIE Fighters and an additional 48 TIE Defenders within the fleet that resides there.

Caledonia Works recently ran one of their rare 30%-off sales. They being my overall favorite Train Simulator third-party steam loco creator, I couldn't resist. Here are some captures of items I acquired:

(image) A Southern Railway L1 in Southern Malachite pulling a rake of Pullman coaches, seen on Portsmouth Line Direct

The SRL1 is proving quite a challenge. It features a "steam reverser", which Caledonia Works has configured to function somewhat differently from the reversers I'm used to. Took me some time to figure out how to get the bloody thing to work. I'm nowhere close to getting it to work properly with any consistency. The hard-to-see railway car immediately behind the tender is an SR luggage van, picked up during a separate CW rolling-stock sale.

(image) LB&SCR D1, in Southern Malachite, stopped at Corfe Castle station on the Purbeck Line, a dawn capture (image)

In contrast to the SRL1, the LB&SCR D1 is a super easy drive.

(image) An LNER J27 on Stainmore, Shap and Eden Valley third-party route (image)

Oops, the above was purchased during CW's previous loco sale. Oh well, it's a nice shot.

I apparently haven't yet captured an image of my third and finale recent CW-sale purchase, the LSWR 700-class steam loco. A surprising omission.

My Rebellion game is coming along nicely. I upped Coruscant's defense with an additional 50 squadrons of TIE Fighters, my Main Fleet is now finally complete having 15 Super Star Destroyers AND I just caught Luke Skywalker! biggrin.gif

Only five or six sectors left in the outer rim now.

I'm currently playing Black Mirror, the point'n`click game from 2003. I'm glad that I decided to give it a try, because a lot of comments on the GOG are negative but I find the game very good with minor flaws. The game is not for impatient ones, I guess that's what turns a lot of gamers away, because there's a lot of talking and slow walking.

Also, except one really difficult puzzle I haven't needed to consult the help of an online walkthrough, though I'd say that compared to other point'n'click games that I've played (and I've played lots of them), the puzzles are on above-average difficulty.

There are three sequels, so it looks like I'll be staying in castle Black Mirror for a while.

Well, that's a wrap then. Today I found and destroyed the rebel HQ and together with the other victory conditions, that was the end of this playthrough. Quite anitclimactic I must say kvleft.gif

I never got that BIG space battle. None of my planets were ever pestered by a large rebel fleet, or any rebel fleet for that matter. None of my sector fleets ever saw battle at all and my 15 Super Star Destroyers were a waste to build. I didn't even had to perform an endless amount of sabotage missions in the beginning as is otherwise standard procedure.

Oh, well. The fun was in building ships and create nice fleets, I guess smile.gif

Captures from the "Down Stopper" standard scenario provided with (Golden Age Development's) West of England Mainline route. The three-carriage train is pulled by a (Caledonia Works) LSWR T9, seen in BR Lined Black livery. I installed the route earlier today. This was my maiden voyage on it. As can be seen, it's scenically impressive. The scenario is enjoyable, with ample running time (a little over an hour) and some hair-raising station-stops on down-slopes (assuming you want to maintain a decent speed):

(image) At the first station-stop, awaiting an incoming train before continuing on. This would prove to be the only 'timetabled' leg of the journey (image)

Been back to SimCity 3000 again and my SimVille. I'm currently expanding with both residential and business areas and replacing old water pumps, electrical facilities and garbage burners. I have 370.000 residents and for the first time I actually exceeded 1 million Simoleans in my treasury! I never thought I'd be able to do that! ohmy.gif

Edit: Really nice pictures, Decrepit. And very Oblivion-esque. I almost expect to see a deer or an ogre standing somewhere, looking at the train tongue.gif

Hello, Morroblivion!! biggrin.gif

It took a day or two to get it downloaded and installed, but it all worked out in the end.

Welcome to Morro-Seyda Neen. I prefer Morroblivion to Morrowind, mainly for the improved walking animations, and the Oblivion style alchemy (especially the Oblivion style picking ingredients).

I haven't played much of TES3 Morrowind, so don't remember those aspects. But I prefer Morroblivion already because it is fully voiced! Yes, it's mostly computer generated voicing, but it's good enough and so much better than no voicing at all. I also prefer Oblivion style dialogue handling to the wall of text you used to get in TES3. That's what ultimately put me off.

Oh boy, I hated the dialogue text in Morrowind. I stopped thinking of NPCs as people. Instead they were stationary library stations. Each one had a hundred topics I could care less about, and 99 of them were exactly the same as every other NPC in the game. I very quickly stopped talking to people.

Quite. I have so far found that there's quite some variation in Morroblivion, they actually tell you different things under Rumours or Little Advice, which is nice. I've had several versions of tax collector rumours already! biggrin.gif But someone was sleeping in my bed at Eight Plates! mad.gif I had to wake him up! laugh.gif And then I fell off the bed with See You Sleep DLL, will have to look into patching it for Morroblivion beds.
