QUOTE(Dark Reaper @ Mar 27 2022, 03:15 AM) Been watching videos on Elden Ring and it looks interesting.
The problem I have with it is that it is from the makers of the Darksouls and Bloodborne games, and therefore difficult for the sake of being difficult. That’s just not appealing to me, and everything I’ve read about the game says it’s just like one of the other games from this company, just set in an open world. Also, and this is just me being bitter, George R.R. Martin was involved in Elden Ring’s writing. He’s on my [censored]-list because he’s doing stuff like this instead of finishing the A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels, which I was fairly invested in. I don’t want to support anything he does until he finishes that damn series. Grumble grumble.

I tried playing Bloodborne and Dark Souls Remastered but couldn't get into it. Closest thing I've been is Fallen Order which I need to get back into, that was a beautiful SW game.

I agree with Khajiit that difficult for the sake of being difficult is not my kind of game. And indeed I didn't get very far with Dark Souls - that was too difficult for me. But I did like the idea of exploring a dungeon world and finding scraps of information here and there so that you have to piece the story together yourself rather than be led through a Main Quest and Side Quests and hand held on every step. From what I read about the new game, it is supposed to be less difficult and more about piecing together the story, so at least I am willing to try it.

Caledonia Works recently ran one of their rare 30%-off sales. They being my overall favorite Train Simulator third-party steam loco creator, I couldn't resist. Here are some captures of items I acquired: (image) A Southern Railway L1 in Southern Malachite pulling a rake of Pullman coaches, seen on Portsmouth Line DirectThe SRL1 is proving quite a challenge. It features a "steam reverser", which Caledonia Works has configured to function somewhat differently from the reversers I'm used to. Took me some time to figure out how to get the bloody thing to work. I'm nowhere close to getting it to work properly with any consistency. The hard-to-see railway car immediately behind the tender is an SR luggage van, picked up during a separate CW rolling-stock sale. (image) LB&SCR D1, in Southern Malachite, stopped at Corfe Castle station on the Purbeck Line, a dawn capture (image) In contrast to the SRL1, the LB&SCR D1 is a super easy drive. (image) An LNER J27 on Stainmore, Shap and Eden Valley third-party route (image) Oops, the above was purchased during CW's previous loco sale. Oh well, it's a nice shot. I apparently haven't yet captured an image of my third and finale recent CW-sale purchase, the LSWR 700-class steam loco. A surprising omission. Hello, Morroblivion!! It took a day or two to get it downloaded and installed, but it all worked out in the end.

I haven't played much of TES3 Morrowind, so don't remember those aspects. But I prefer Morroblivion already because it is fully voiced! Yes, it's mostly computer generated voicing, but it's good enough and so much better than no voicing at all. I also prefer Oblivion style dialogue handling to the wall of text you used to get in TES3. That's what ultimately put me off.

Quite. I have so far found that there's quite some variation in Morroblivion, they actually tell you different things under Rumours or Little Advice, which is nice. I've had several versions of tax collector rumours already! But someone was sleeping in my bed at Eight Plates! I had to wake him up! And then I fell off the bed with See You Sleep DLL, will have to look into patching it for Morroblivion beds.
