The Nimbus 9000 Broom tongue.gif .

A single engine Cessna trainer . It was pretty simple to fly but I would have preferred using a live model simulator before flying the real thing.

When my grandpa got his license there were no simulators.

This was in the early 90s, he didn't have it long before he had knee surgery disqualifying him on his next physical.

He was originally scheduled to fly on his next physical? In any case, I imagine riding on an airplane would be less stressful for his arms.

There were flight simulators in 1929. Just google for Link Trainer. My father used one.

Nothing like the real thing. Just jump onboard and grab the controls biggrin.gif


And to think I went for helicopter. Much more difficult to fly than that airplane even if it was a very simple heli. The very nature of it makes it hard. But fun!

But you can mess up in a simulator reals life is not as forgiving tongue.gif .

I love flying helicopters in flight simulators, I find them simpler to fly then planes.
