Even windows is going to be pumped full of ads. YouTube is costing Google money. Costs more to maintain than it brings in. This is unsurprising.

Some folks get Netflix. I get YT premium. I spent most of my days on it til recently, because my headset broke.

So as some of you know, I used to be pretty active in Morrowind's Tamriel Rebuilt/Project Tamriel mods. In addition to some quest design, I also wrote an in-game book, "A Pearl Betwixt Empires", describing the islands of Cathnoquey in the Padomaic Ocean. This expands on the semi-canonical lore of the 2nd Edition Pocket Guide to the Empire.

I just found out that someone created their own mod based on what I wrote! Specifically, a flotilla-city of the Chimeri-quey. The flotilla-city concept originates from the 2nd Edition PGE; all I did was expand on it. But that detail did provide some inspiration for this modder.

I started playing ESO again and I don't know if I can keep up with it. I haven't played since Morrowind so I restarted and I have no dlc, no other chapters, and feel so behind and like trash tier.

I also don't know anyone.

Saki, I imagine it can feel overwhelming if you don't stay up with everything. Just be patient. Chorrol has an ESO guild. Though not very active, it has chapters in both PCNA and PCEU. We even have a subforum here for ESO.

I feel so left out now, dunno why..

If you join the guild, you can easily see when other members are online. Helping someone catch up is always a good excuse to repeat content without the pressures of making progress yourself.

It's an app you download to your desktop. It mirrors Youtube so it has all the videos completely without any ads. I in fact have to use it now as I got the popup directly that blocks everything. It's not better than youtube but it works in a pinch. I'd suggest downloading it and try if you have the same problems as me.

I didn't mind them at all way back in the day when they were simply a banner at the bottom of the video which you could click away after awhile. During which time the video played as normal btw. But now, man. I don't want to waste my life away watching all those ads. It's bad enough watching the videos ffs!

I haven't touched ESO in a VERY long time. I've kinda lost interest in the TES franchise altogether .

I had a lot of fun with ESO, thanks mainly to the good people here in the Chorrol guild. I just got to a point in my life that I couldn’t devote enough time to it for it to be worthwhile. As for TES series in general, it’s just been so long between entries that I can definitely understand people moving on, but I am very curious to see how good the next game is. Will the backing of Micro$oft’s financial might make a huge difference? Time will tell.
