Are there any vampires around Balmora? I need a vampire but if there aren't any nearby I'll have to make one up with reasons for killing the Commona Tong people.

QUOTE(Kiln @ Jul 25 2005, 02:52 PM) Are there any vampires around Balmora? I need a vampire but if there aren't any nearby I'll have to make one up with reasons for killing the Commona Tong people. Hmmm... I do not remember. But, the clans are in different locations in Morrowind. One of which is in Malog Mar(sp?) or something like that. Here is a site with some info on clans, powers, and locations. Also, there are also individual vampires, if I remember correctly. Hopefully, that helps just a tiny bit! EDIT: Hmm... I think the Berne clan might be near Balmora. Found in, and I quote from the site, "Andrethi Ancestral Tomb (West of Balmora)." This post has been edited by MerGirl: Jul 25 2005, 08:05 PM

Thanks, I'm looking for individual vampires or loners that don't belong to any clan. If I can't find one I will make one the plot is essential to have a very old vampire.

No that can't be right I thought the Berne clan were in a dwemer ruin quite a ways in the ashlands. I know the Aundae clan is in an ancestral tomb on an island south of Dagon fel and the quarra are in a dwemer ruin in the Foyada Mamea. I'll just make a new one. Well, that is one of the places where other Berne clan members can be found, at least that is what the site is saying. (And I trust this site for most of my quests, so I guess it should be mostly right.) Perhaps, check gamefaqs.com and search for Morrowind from there. There are a few Vampire FAQ's there. Maybe that could help. Or perhaps check the Imperial Library? This post has been edited by MerGirl: Jul 25 2005, 08:22 PM

Sorry Mergirl I thought you meant the main HQ was located there not just a small group or something, I was thinking about their main base sorry to be a jerk. Thanks but still though I'll make a new vampire and use the tomb as a reference. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kiln crossed the bridge and continued down the worn path to the fort still wondering if he should wait for the vampire as the priestess had said or if he should seek him out. After thinking for a while he decided that he would seek him out but first he would report that he had killed the bad people Varro had spoken of. At first he was saddened by their deaths but when he had found that they were vicious thugs he was somewhat relieved though he still was afraid to confront the vampire. It was clear that the vampire had something against the Commona Tong and thats why the girl had been spared, she wasn't one of them but the vampire probably realised too late. At least he hadn't killed her like he'd done the others. His thoughts returned to him as he entered the arch. The guards all looked at him differently now, surprised to see him alive. He walked into the fort and asked the huge nord where he could find Varro. The man gave him directions and he excused himself to other matters. Kiln walked into the bunkhouse and saw Varro downstairs writing a letter. He approached and Varro stood up and smiled merrily. "I've done as you asked." Kiln told him "I heard that they had been killed in a way that looked like it was executed by a professional, I am very pleased. To be honest I didn't expect you to return." Varro said with a mocking grin "Indeed but I have returned, so what now?" Kiln asked anxiously "Oh yes, you and I will go into town tomorrow and and I will call a meeting to declare that through further investigation we have found you innocent of all charges first thing in the morning." Varro explained "Fine, what do I do until then?" Kiln asked The guards walked in and grabbed Kiln by the arms carefully, they didn't want to annoy him, they thought he had killed all those people with ease. He was put in his cell and was served some of the horrible muck they called food. He was tired but had read the journal very little lately so he decided that for now thats what he would do. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The journal entry will be in the next part, sorry. A very nice story and it has jumped up to over one hundred posts in juct a matter of days. That shows either you've got alot of little side talk going on in there or its a very good story. For me? I believe its the second one. Loved it and i wish for it to continue. (copyright Jonajosa inc.) 40 lashes for anyone who uses it without my permission.

I try and measure what I write in how many people have viewed my story, whether it is just a part or the entire story I don't know but at least I know they've seen it...don't get me wrong though I love getting feedback for what I write, good or bad...now that I think of it I prefer good. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "After I arrived at the fighters guild I asked around and found out my contact was in the lower section of the building. I continued down until I reached the bottom level, I heard the distinct sound of blades clashing and I entered the room. The two people fighting there paid littled attention to me until they were done fighting." Thinking back to the night Serene had taken his bed at the inn and he slept at the fighters guild, Kiln figured it was probably the imperial that trains all the newcomers to the guild though he couldn't remember his name. Kiln read on. "He described to me the location of some sort of ruin, he wants me to go to this ruin and collect for him some sort of plans...I believe he called it a dwemer puzzle box and added that they were quite rare. I'll get ready to leave tomorrow this errand sounds simple." Kiln's thoughts were interrupted by the loud yell of a guard telling them to go to sleep. Kiln knew better than to disobey the guards so he put away the journal and lied down. He was anxious for the coming day, his name would be cleared and he would search out the vampire. The next day he was awaken by the guards and he was fed breakfast. A short time after eating, the guards came to his cell and opened it. He was taken to the living quarters to meet with Varro. Varro finished putting his armor on and he motioned for the two guards to follow, he led Kiln outside and they walked slowly down the road. "Alright Kiln, it seems that our agreement has come to an end. The important people of town, mainly shopkeepers and the great house members have been called to a meeting in the upper section of town." Varro said "Why might I ask?" Kiln said "So that I can finally clear your name kid." Varro replied "Why only the important people?" Kiln asked "You don't want anyone important thinking you're a thief do you?" Varro said "Fine then, I wish everyone would be informed though." Kiln said quietly "The wanted signs have been removed, oh yes you will be happy to know that your friend in prison has completed his assignment and has been freed as well." Varro told him "I'm just glad to leave that place." Kiln said relieved "You performed your task very quickly and with great skill, should you be looking for another job, please stop bye." Varro said "I was hoping never to see you again Varro." Kiln said laughing but he was quite serious "I won't hold my breath." Varro replied "Oh please do." Kiln said in a serious tone Varro grinned as they walked through the archway into Balmora. Kiln wondered how the girl was doing, but cleared his mind when they walked up the stairs and entered the highest part of town. Varro talked loudly so everyone could hear and gave a very long speech that Kiln didn't really listen to but everyone listened carefully. He was a true politician, something truly mystical about an imperial giving a speech. After some time the people were dismissed from the town but they looked dissapointed. They were perhaps expecting an execution? Varro turned and walked away motioning for his guards to follow. Kiln headed for the mages guild, perhaps one of the mages knew if there were any nearby vampires.

Well, I don't get tired of hearing comments even repetetive ones, at least I know you're reading it. Alright, I'm not sure how many pages I'm up to now but eventually when I can get time I'll go back and split everything into chapters and count the pages. And finally, what's the deal with the "Jonajosa" smiley I haven't been here oh so long so could someone explain why you call them that? Edit: My story without comments is roughly twenty eight full pages and part of another. That's as is with no chapters and or paragraphing(Also includes current spacing.). Chapter 5
Kiln arrived at the mages guild and explained his situation with the head of the guild in Balmora. She seemed quite willing to help and she admitted she had seen a vampire there before but she didn't know how to find him.
Kiln continued to question her, eventually she told him that he usually came here only for a few minutes and always to chat with the same orc woman at the bottom of the stairs. He always needed several potions that would help him breath water for some odd reason.
He was pleased so he thanked her and walked down the stairs to the bottom floor, in all his years he had never been here before. It was exquisitely decorated with tapestry and wonderfully lit as well. Kiln stopped and admired the scenery before moving on to speak with the orc.
He introduced himself but she seemed suspicious and refused to divulge her name. He bought one potion of water breathing from her in hopes of starting a conversation.
"So, do you sell alot of these potions ma'am?" Kiln asked politely
"Enough to get me bye." she replied
"Who is your most frequent customer?" Kiln asked
"He calls himself greed, for that is what has become of him." She replied not really thinking of what she was saying
"Is he a strong looking sort of man?" Kiln hoped the vampire was small and weak
"He is a large man, if you can call him a man." She said putting potions on the shelf beside her
"Oh really...very interesting, where might I find him?" He asked
"It is not in my best interest to tell his location to a hunter, for you would be the prey good sir." she told him hoping to discourage him
"I don't seek to kill him, just a meeting with such a man would please me greatly." he told her
She stopped stocking the shelves and stared at him looking him over carefully. She wasn't sure whether to trust him or not but she looked as if she could be easily convinced so Kiln took out his blade and asked her,
"Would it help if I left this here with a friend of mine?" He asked
"If you are willing to go to him unarmed then you are a fool sir." she said
"I will see him any way I can." he told her
She was convinced, if he was willing to leave his blade then his intention must not be to kill the creature. She told him to follow the river to the southern coast and go left across the bridge, continue following the coast, there has recently been a cavern dug out under water there.
She said to take the potion he had bought and drink it after he found the entrance, then he must swim as quickly as he can to get into the caves without drowning. He thanked her and walked briskly out the door of the mages guild towards the river, he met the edge of the water and took off in a dead run following the directions he had been given. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hope you guys like it...soon he will find Greed.

He ran until he could run no further, he had to get the antidote soon. The girl surely didn't have much time left, he would have to confront the vampire and get it from him.
He searched the coast, did she say left...no maybe right...wait...Kiln couldn't remember where she had said to look for the entrance. He could remember that it was under water but which direction?
First he went right, searching the coastline he found nothing so he crossed back over and searched the left side. He a small hill emerging from the water along the coast.
To the average person it would seem like just another hill but the shape defined it to Kiln. He slowly lowered himself into the water in front of the grotto. He held his breath and pushed open the door, after resurfacing for air he gulped down part of the potion and entered the place.
After a few feet he realised he should have gotten more than one potion, there weren't any visible sources of air. He swam violently searching for the surface leading into the cave.
Just as he had almost given up he saw light flickering on the top of the water. He swam to it and crawled out of the water slowly. The long swim had left him exausted but he trudged on through the muddy cavern. The section he was in was huge and dug out.
The tunnels led to the inside of the hill nearby, some of it had been hollowed out for use as a home for the vampire. The rock made room was filled with crates and barrels, likely his life supplies, but how could a vampire live so far from town?
Kiln walked the passage to the right it was blocked by a locked gate, Kiln quietly broke the lock off. There was actually a floor here, it was wooden but it was carefully crafted and fit the entryway perfectly. The next area was like a miniature square of a town.
The area was brightly lit by torches, it almost looked like daylight. Kiln walked down a few stairs to the house. The decorations gave slightly an imperial look to the place, it was like a developing community.
The ground was made of carefully carved rock, the surface was smooth and soft. There was a single house crafted from the same thick plaster style homes as were used in Balmora but this one was much larger and it looked like good quality work, there were also two small shack type buildings, one on each side.
There was a Khajiit fetching water from a well that had been dug in town. She was tall and looked quite calm considering she was inside a vampire's lair. Kiln approached her and spoke,
"What are you doing here?" he asked softly
"I do work for my master and he allows me to stay here along with the others." she said
"What is your name woman?" he asked
"Call me cattle for that is all I am here." she said
It seemed as if she had been brainwashed, she didn't see a problem in sustaining a vampire.
"Leave this place woman, I have business to attend to with your master." Kiln said
"You've come here seeking Greed?" she said laughing
"Indeed I have." Kiln replied uneasy with her laughter
"As have many others, you seek Greed, but when you find him he will consume you." she told him
Kiln thought for a moment on whether greed was the vampire or if this was a metaphor. He couldn't be sure, it seemed that she was insane with her rambling.
"Enter his home and speak with him if you must but if you value your life you will leave this place and never return." she warned him
"I'll take my chances." Kiln replied opening the door and entering the home.
It was quite nice and welcoming but deep down Kiln was terrified, he kept reaching down to put his hand on his sword but he had left it with his dunmer friend at the mages guild.
He had been a fool to come here without his blade but he continued on through the massive complex in search of the creature called Greed.

The room was well decorated with expensive wares and brightly lit with candles. It was the opposite of what Kiln expected to find, he figured a vampire's stronghold would be dark and full of skulls and bodies, as many books described. Kiln didn't know what to expect when he found the creature but he moved quitely about the house searching for the master quarters. He went down the stairs to a single door in the basement of the sprawling manor and examined the door. It was huge and Iron, it didn't really fit in with the look of the house, it was locked with a special lock. It was shaped in the form of a huge Shalk beetle with a keyhole in the middle of it's back. Kiln removed the thin piece of metal from his pack and probed the lock with it trying to figure out how to open it but it was unlike any lock he had encountered before. It was way to complex for even someone like him to open, and he prided himself on his ability to open even the toughest locks. He wanted to know what was inside but first he would have to find the key. He walked back to the ground floor and heard someone talking. Afraid, he crouched and slowly made his way up the top floor. It was the dining hall, the most expensive things in the entire house were in this room, expensive tapestry, painted pots, and imperial silverware decorated the table along with twelve distinct bottles of flin. Kiln paid careful attention to his surroundings in case he needed to escape quickly, maybe too much attention. He approached an open door in the house and could hear the distorted speech of an imperial. He got closer and looked in, it was in fact Greed speaking to his pet rat, Kiln barely held in his laughter. He moved closer and listened in on the one way conversation, "Such a good boy aren't you? Here have some more." the vampire said in a dark voice holding out a small piece of bread to the rat The rat squeaked merrily and took the bread from him. Kiln covered his mouth with his hand nearly unable to halter his laughter. "Sit down boy come on." Greed said to the rat It sat down and eagerly awaited more bread, holding out its paws to recieve it. Kiln was unable to stop himself and he laughed out loud. The vampire looked toward the doorway and yelled furiously. "I thought I'd made it clear that I didn't want to be disturbed." Greed said angrily Kiln stopped laughing and tried to decide what to do next. "Come on, I don't have all day, what do you want?" Greed asked demandingly Kiln froze next to the door, what would he do to him? The fact that he was unarmed weighed on his mind as he waited outside the room. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Heart warming huh?
