QUOTE(TheCheshireKhajiit @ Jun 21 2024, 09:40 AM) The last thing I saw him in was that dreadful The Hunger Games movie. The first one. Didn’t see the others. I feel like that’s a shame because he was a good actor.
QUOTE(SubRosa @ Jun 21 2024, 04:39 PM) I enjoyed all the Hunger Games movies. Donald Sutherland was outstanding as the evil president.
Khajiit really put his foot in his mouth with that hot take This post has been edited by TheCheshireKhajiit: Jun 21 2024, 10:47 PM

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Sep 9 2024, 04:13 PM) That is sad to hear. His voice alone deserved its own zip code. Or IMDB page, or something.
Indeed.

QUOTE(TheCheshireKhajiit @ Feb 27 2025, 06:58 AM) A weird one today. Actor Gene Hackman, his wife, and their dog were found dead in their home. Carbon monoxide poisoning maybe?
Oh and Michelle Trachtenberg (Harriet the Spy, Buffy TVS) passed yesterday. That one also took me by surprise. She was younger than I am!
That Gene Hackman one, that's sus deluxe. From what I've read there isn't any indication of Carbon Monoxide or any gas leaks. If it wasn't that I can only guess Gene died of natural causes, then his wife found him dead and decided to take her and their dog's life via overdose to be with him in death.

Being out of commission for so long with health woes, I'm late to the game here, so what I have to share might be old news. Regardless . . . this video, by a Hospice Nurse, has a different take on the Hackmans' deaths.

QUOTE(TheCheshireKhajiit @ Mar 20 2025, 06:35 PM) Last I heard from the Sherrif guy, his wife actually died first of some kind of heart issue caused by a virus from rodents, and Gene Hackman had Alzheimer’s and couldn’t take care of himself basically. The dog was locked in a kennel and died of dehydration.
Such a tragic end to such a great actor .

QUOTE(TheCheshireKhajiit @ Apr 2 2025, 06:05 AM) Welp, 2025 claims another. RIP Val Kilmer. I had heard that his health was poor so perhaps his passing wasn’t as surprising as it could have been, but still…
QUOTE(SubRosa @ Apr 2 2025, 05:41 PM) He has been fighting cancer for years, so it is not a surprise. Though it looks like it was pneumonia that got him. Sad to see him go.
Ironically, he would pass away on April the first, when I heard about his passing, I thought it WAS an April fool's joke bad sadly it wasn't. RIP Val Kilmer and thank you for the memories T_T.

This one was a real bummer to see. Someone in an Elder Scrolls meme-posting group on Facebook shared a screenshot from the Oblivion Remastered credits that memorialized Noah Nelson. He's the new voice actor for the male Orcs, but he also voiced them in Skyrim, like the librarian at the College of Winterhold. My first callback when I first heard him in Skyrim was Tohru from the cartoon series Jackie Chan Adventures, where he started off as a villain but later became a good guy.
Weirdly, though, I couldn't find anything about his passing online. But it seems the screenshot was legit. So, if he has passed, RIP, Noah Nelson. He is THE male Orc voice to me.

Yeah I really liked that they changed to his voice for the male Orcs in the remaster. Nothing against the guy who did the voice for the Nords and Orcs in Oldblivion, but I like that they gave each race a unique voice actor.
