QUOTE(TheCheshireKhajiit @ May 23 2025, 03:42 PM) Has anyone here seen anything of Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon? It’s supposedly an “Elder Scrolls-like” game. I’ve watched some reviews and it seems interesting, at least.
Give it a shot. You'll never know if you've found a gem or a turd.

Give it a shot. You'll never know if you've found a gem or a turd. I was more or less just seeing if anyone here was aware of it. The reviews I’ve seen were over all pretty positive.

For a week or so I've been playing Thimbleweed Park, a point and click game. It is a fairly non-linear complex game with a setting that takes place in a town called Thimbleweed Park and its vast surroundings. There are five playable characters (two federal agents that can't stand each other, a circus clown that got cursed and can't leave the circus, a computer geek girl and a ghost of a hotel magnate that disappeared in mysterious circumstances) and a player can switch between them any time though each character has its own corresponding puzzles. There are also some puzzles that require a team work. Unusual for a point and click game, Thimbleweed Park is located in a sort of an open-world setting so most areas can be explored at any time, making adventuring in that regard more difficult because different puzzles need to be solved in different areas but not all of them can be solved at any moment. Most point and clickies are extremely linear so Thimbleweed Park is an exception in this case. Fortunately, each character has its own "to do list" so objectives are nicely written down. There's also an in-game hint system that obviously provides hints if stuck. So far I used the hint system once, I find the puzzles to be semi-difficult but there aren't any moon logic puzzles like in a lot of other point and click games. There's a lot of dialogue so one can easily get overwhelmed with information but important facts can be repeated. The humor in the game is well written and I often find myself chuckle or outright laugh at some dialogues and scenes, which happens (to me at least) rarely in a video game. There are two difficulties, the casual and the hardcore one. The casual one is more or less a novel and there are fewer puzzles. The hardcore one is the meant it's way to be played.

Been playing Dark Souls and Elden Ring on my Steam Deck all morning and it feels so good to be playing those game again. Yep I said it, I'm happy playing Dark Souls, the game that can piss you off to levels that no one has ever seen or been in, makes me a happy player! Makes me even more happy when I can beat two black knights with just a morning star . Also I seem to remember in Dark Souls 1 in order to do a back stab you had to press forward and R1, it seems like in the PC/Steam version you just need to circle to the enemy's rear and the game does automatically.

Once you get it up and running it runs rather smoothly! You definitely want to disable the frame rate as doing so makes games run silky smooth!
