Aw Rider, I am so sorry for your and your family's loss. It sounds like he was really loved a lot by all; so through this time I hope all the great memories keep you all strong for each other.

As I'm having my afternoon cuppa joe, I would just like to take the opportunity to thank everyone here for being awesome. I love having you guys as friends and even though we've never met and most likely never will, you are way closer to me than most of my own family. Now where's my saw? I need to trim this tree of mine...

Seriously, you guys are G-R-E-A-T!
As are you. I still think you and your constant letters throughout my stroke recovery are what brought me back from the dead! They were powerful and tremendously healing; you will always have a strong place in my heart for that! Your bird presence is always a welcome one!

Morning coffee at home for the first time in nearly a week. I’ve been in Philadelphia with my daughter celebrating that she had some time off. We don’t know anyone there and I had never been other than driving through on road trips. It was a museum and garden trip, mostly. My favorite is the Barnes Foundation. They had nine rooms closed for something about the floors, and it was still almost too much art to take in. I’d heard about Winterthur and Longwood Gardens (about an hour from Philly) my whole life, and now I’ve finally been there. Can’t wait to go back. Maybe not in August, though. Good lord it was humid.
Also now I can report that unlike New York and bagels, a Philly Cheesesteak tastes just as good in my town and probably in your town as it does in Philly. They are all delicious!

I remember when I worked in our mall and there was a Steak Escape restaurant in the food court. I swear I think I ate there just about every day. They had really good fries and cheesesteak sammiches.
