Revisiting this thread after a long absence, I chanced upon the screenshot “Buffy’s Birthday Suit,” which by sheer happenstance was posted here ten years and a day ago as of today, 20 April 2026. It reminded me of a scenario that I oft contemplated back when my second play-through was fully active. It plays out something like this:
My decrepit avatar and Vilja are on patrol, riding through a forested hilly landscape. My avatar brings the gang to a halt, announces that he needs to answer the call of nature, dismounts, and ascends a heavily wooded rise of ground just off the roadway. Cresting the rise, as he is about to prepare for action, he hears faint humming and the splashing of water. He crouches and stealthily moves forward until, through the trees, he glimpses what appears to be a young blond-haired enchantress luxuriating in a slow-flowing mountain stream. Keeping as quiet as possible, he watches the bather for a minute or so, turns his head back toward the hill crest and the mundane life that lies beyond it, turns back toward the bather, stares for some seconds, shakes his head, then reluctantly backs away until the stream is again obscured by trees; stands; takes care of business; returns to Vilja; and resumes their patrol. Later that day, patrol ended; he thinks to mention the encounter that wasn’t an encounter to his ward but, on second thought, decides that some experiences are best kept to oneself.
Buffy was, of course, the inspiration for that non-encounter.
The aforementioned screenshot triggered my remembrance of said encounter, which in turn inspired me to at last attempt an enhancement I have been thinking about since the beginning of my Gemini-enhanced Oblivion screenshot project. The image linked below is not intended as a visual reimagining of the fictitious encounter. For one thing, the enhancement derives from a third playthrough screenshot and features Hamfat the Third. For another, the depicted encounter is in-your-face rather than stealth-at-a-distance. Lastly, my avatar’s screen cohabitant might or might not be any particular nature-loving elf of a certain sex. I take liberty to link the enhancement here rather than in our Oblivion Screenshot thread due to its inspirational connection to Buffy, however far removed it may be.

Hamfat-the-Third encounters an Elven enchantress deep within Ancient Yews. He refuses to succumb to temptation. More fool he. <link>
I was honestly surprised that Gemini allowed the enhancement as it is seen. Had Gemini positioned the lady’s right leg only slightly lower, I’d be dead in the water, if you pardon the pun. It’s not without flaw. The clothing pile doesn’t make sense where it is seen. It was directed to be placed on the opposite stream bank from where my avatar sits. Try as I might, I couldn’t get Gemini to relocate it to there. With free-tier Gemini, you never know. I might try again another day, with the same commands that have failed in the past, and meet with total success. For now, the pile remains where it is. Also, my avatar was to be seen looking at the Elven lady. On this matter I gave up without a fight due to burnout from battling over clothes-pile placement.
