How about the "evil dudes" land on the side of the island Niran is travelling on and go through the forest for concealment and surprise.

I honestly think it owuld be better to get on with the duel - or else it will just come up again and we'll be in the same situation.

Besides, Arcyakt can't just automatically say that the "rebels" are on the is;and, or Alton will suspect something. He will end up pretending that he met with a contact that had information.
