More Story!
Chapter 9
Now, fully healed and decently, although not lavishly, outfitted, I could set about figuring out exactly how to free myself from the game.
I emerged from the Arena waistworks expecting the open, barely populated Vivec I had known while playing my character. What I saw was something entirely different. This canton, as well as all the others I could see, were packed with dunmer. Across the canal, which was filled with gondolas rowing to their various destinations, I could see someone shouting and gesturing wildly. Curiousity getting the better of me, I decided that I would go and see what it was.
The Imperial was used to public speaking, that much I could tell, and he seemed passionate. Having nothing better to do at the time, I sat on the rail of the canton's edge and listened...
"...cannot allow this to continue. This Bosmer is not the first to fall to the so-called 'saint' Nerevar and his thugs, and he shall not be the last!" A murmer of agreement rippled among the crowd. "I tell you that I KNEW the Nerevar when he was yet unknown, and, hearing of his atrocious deeds, returned here from Cyrodiil to see for myself. And mark me, if he continues to do as he has been, the emperor will not hesitate to stop him!" The affirmative air suddenly became charged with exitement. "Should we let Fargoth's death fade away into the other atrocities that he has commited? I SAY NAY!" By this time the crowd was stirred up, and a majority of them shouted with him.
Unfortunately, this was the time the blue-clad dunmer from the 'Drugs, weapons, and Alchohol Division' decided to disperse them. Having dealt with these blue armors before, I decided to make myself scarce. As I left, I could hear the Imperial shout out something about being clean, that he had reformed, that the emperor let him go.
A few minutes later I found something else to keep me interested. On the opposite side of the canton, near the gondola station, a group of men were setting up a large raised platform.
Across the canton I went, being jostled and pushed about more than I thought was proper, being the only one within sight weilding a weapon. I reached the platform just as they finished setting the platform up. Behind the stage and on the water, a large boat pulled up to the gondola dock. I could see several persons being unloaded, all of which were chained.
My morbid curiosity kept me looking on. I was not surpised when the first few were Khajiit and Argonian, but the last few were different. Imperials; well muscled, fit, and hardly looking like they were used to servitute. I wondered what they were doing at a slave auction.
The bidding began with a Khajiit female; she looked haggard and unhealthy, obviously they were saving the best for last. Perfect, as I intended to free these slaves.

QUOTE(mplantinga @ Sep 28 2005, 03:27 PM) An interesting twist, to have Nerevar be a "thug." I wonder how that will play out. I'm sure you've satisfied many people's manic need to kill Fargoth; why does everyone insist on picking on poor Fargoth? I look forward to seeing how you attempt to free the slaves. An excellent addition; please keep writing. I shall, If i have time to copy them you might get two blocks of story today. Chapter 10 People were crowded around the platform, so it was no trouble for me to sneak underneath it. The slaves were bound to the edge of the platform, backs to me, waiting to be sold. Most of the guards were above, keeping an eye on the unbound prisoners, the only one down here was not more than a boy; a young Redguard in mismatched armor and a battered sword. If I was extremely lucky, I might actually pull this off. I krept behind the Imperials at the far end of the line. Quietly I said to them, "Quit now, Don't turn. I'm a friend and I'll get you out of here soon." To their credit, they hardly moved; so little that I thought that perhaps I had not spoken loudly enough, and repeated myself. With an impatient hiss, one of the imperials told me to get on with it. The ropes they had used were old, and a single sash with the tip of mysaword was all that was required to get them off. When the Imperials were all free, I moved on to the Khajiit and Argonians. Although I went faster than was prudent, I was not fast enough for three of them, which were brought up to the top before I could free them. I moved back down the line, whispering instructions. Above me, I could hear the bidding slow on the third slave. Quickly, I drew my crossbow, fitted a bolt, then fired. My aim was true, the bolt went cleanly through the redguard's swordarm, rendering him useless, his sword falling out of his grasp. As one, the slaves rose up and broke west, twords the edge of the canton. One of the Imperials, the oldest one, picked up the redguard's sword. Together, we fended off the remaining slavers, incapacitating them, at which point we sprinted to catch up. We met more resistance in the form of five of the guards in blue armor. The Imperials, with a ferocity that almost, but not quite, took me completely off guard, attacked them unarmed. Even more surprising, after about thirty seconds we had seven men including myself armed in some way. The imperials reached the edge of the canton first, leaping off the edge. The rest of the slaves followed. With a mental shrug, for I had no idea where they were going, I followed them in. I caught up with the impeial who seemed in charge and asked him where we were going. "To Ebonhart," He replied, "final holdout of the Legion in Morrowind." This post has been edited by stargate525: Sep 28 2005, 11:02 PM

QUOTE(mplantinga @ Sep 28 2005, 09:16 PM) An impressive escape. I do hope they manage to find their way to freedom. well...read on. Chater 11 Even Ebonhart was different from the morrowind I remembered. Where the docks once stood were burnt and charred rubble. The dragon statue was in peices, around which were built a thick palisade of wood from all sorts of places. Behind that, the keep and the imperial tower were both severely damaged as well. The men that were on the palisade were haggard and worn, what armor they had a sad motly of chain, bonemold, chitin, and cloth. This could not be a good thing. We came out of the water and in front of the plalisade. "Who's in charge here?" asked the old Imperial, now with an air of impatience. They took us inside the palisade, to the burnt husk of the tavern that once stood in the courtyard. He asked his question again. "I am," a young man said, his once handsome face now covered with the scars of battle his beard didn't quite completely cover. "I think." "Well then, as former commander of Seyda Neen, I'm comandeering this fort." Commander? Seyda Neen? There was no fort in Seyda Neen. "Then Seyda Neen has fallen then?" "Ay. They burned the Blacklight and killed most of the garrison. We were the lucky ones." "Then who are these?" He cast a distainful eye over the other slaves, taking me in with it. "This man," he clapped me on the shoulder, "courageously, without regard to his own life, single-handedly saved us from our predicament." to me he said, "If you ever come to Cyrodiil, you will certainly have a place in my house. These," he gestured to the others, "were our fellow slaves." "As you can see sir," the young commander said, "they have destroyed our ships and have blockaded both sides of this penninsula, we get daily attacks, we are low on supllies and even lower on morale." "Out of the frying pan and into the fire then," The older one said. Oddly enough, those were my exact sentiments. "I will do what I can tomorrow, right now, we are cold, tired, and hungry." They fed us what they could spare and replaced our clothes. The most sickly of the slaves were found places inside the intact barracks, while the rest of us were left to find a comfortable position in amongst the wreckage and rubble that was once the courtyard to sleep. I, however, had something to investigate. I slipped up the broken stairs and across the nearly collapsed bridge to the Imperial Chapel. the roof was gone and most of the walls were now only waist high, but what I was looking for was still there and, even better, what I had hidden behind it was still there. But, I never hid these here, this wasn't may savegame. For all intents and purposes, this was reality. I had left these here after I had gotten cured of... Oh God. If I was right, this explained alot, and if I was right, things were about to become alot more difficult.

now don't everybody jump up at once... Chapter 12 "So who are you, really?" I jumped, loosing my blance and falling over backwards, my prize clutched to my chest. Above me was the New commander, his face outlined in the two moons above us. "You move around as if you've lived here all your life, you know of the secret chambers within Ebonhart castle, and," he took the find from off my chest and examined it, "even though you are clearly not an Imperial, you are able to hold a Septim Royal Blade. What one is doing here is rather beyond me though." So the plot thickens. I was more than a little confused. As to what that sword was, if he said it was a Septim Royal Blade, then who was I to argue? It could be a Septim Royal Cabbage for all I knew. The obvious awe this blade caused upon the Imperial's face was notable, I still would have preferred what I expected to be there, a full suit of daedric and a matching claymore. I sighed, "I wish I knew." I really wished I knew. second shortest one methinks, but probably the most annoying expect an update tomorrow.

QUOTE(minque @ Oct 1 2005, 02:32 PM) Stargate....thy name is "teaser"..you better come up with an update..REEEEEALLY soon...or else... Oh thank you. I have a title now, Stargate the Teaser. Chapter 13 He looked at me for a moment, then returned the blade to me. "If you can touch this, than you are obviously not who you seem. Although," he reflected, sitting onto a peice of a broken altar, "I don't suppose it's fair that I ask you your story without telling you mine. I am Sellus Gravius, Guard Captain of Seyda Neen, and completely responsible for the mess we're in now." "You couldn't have possibly..." I began. "Not just this, the fort and all. I mean EVERYTHING. Everything that has happened since 3E437 in morrowind can be directly attributed to ME. I was the captain on guard that day, I was the one who obeyed the orders, I was the last one who saw him as a prisoner." It finally hit me. The reason I had recognized him, the reason his voice sounded so familiar, he was the guard captain the day the Nerevarine was released. "You cannot blame yourself," I said, "it was the Emperor's bidding, he is to blame for this, not you." "But I saw it in his eyes, I KNEW that man would do no good, and I let him go anyway." "It's as much my fault as yours." "YOUR fault?" He said incrediculously, "how could it POSSIBLY be your fault?" "I was..." There was a boom, followed by the whistling of something flying through the air and the sudden beheading of the last intact tower. bits of charred wood and stone rained down on us as another cannon fired from the sea. "We will talk of this later," Said Gravius, running towards the bridge, "right now we fight for our lives." This post has been edited by stargate525: Oct 2 2005, 12:33 AM
