I have only played Morrowind on XBox. I have been planning to get XBox 360 so I can get Oblivion (Morrowind is the only reason I bought Xbox). However, I just bought a new PC, and have been thinking about getting Oblivion for it. My questions are:
The 'console' I keep hearing about, is it my keyboard, or is it somthing that I plug into my computer?
Can I use an XBox like controller that plugs into my computer, or is my mouse and keyboard what I use?
Thanks for your thoughts.

The console is just a tool that you bring up by pressing a certain key on your keyboard. Once you've opened it you can enter whatever console commands you wish into it, be it for debugging purposes or just for cheating.

And there will most likely be controller adapters for the PC which will let you use your X-Box 360 controller with your PC. Such already exist for the X-Box controller after all.

Trust me, once you try playing with the keyboard and mouse, you'll never even think of going back to any other controller.

Well, I tried both, in my book there's really no competition between the two, just my opinion smile.gif

pc controls are better for simulations and stuff. ever tried to play a flight sim on a console? they don't even try to make them because you only have what, 12 buttons? the ace combat series isn't really a flight sim but i still love em....

keyboards probably make games easier. lots of buttons times 3 using shift, alt, or ctrl. but IMO controllers have a more fluent feeling to them, they are a bit more comfortable, and less likely to get stuff spilled on.

then again i was raised on consoles so it really depends on the person... i'll be gettin OB for PC when you can buy it for 10$ like you can MW now.

Should be even easier, since the Xbox360's wired controllers are already USB. Just need someone to write a driver and everyone can just plug them in. biggrin.gif

Is this like a pop-up window?

Yes, it's a small window that appears on the screen. You can then adjust its size to whatever you like and close it by pressing the same key you used to open it.

I have to say between the controll and mouse&keyboard I have to pick....

both.

The controller seems more intuitive for movement and stuff but the keyboard can fit a lot more controls.

ever tried playing a mortal kombat game with the keyboard? thats a real pain.

however, for every other genre, it cant get more precise than with mouse. but iom sure, there will be possibilities to plug in a mouse and keyboard into the 360.

isnt there already such a possibility for the actual xbox?

Well.. I am heavily biased toward PC controls since I havent owned a console system since the Atari 2600. However, I have played a couple times on friends consoles and I found the lack of control with them frustrating with any first person view games. Once you are used to using the WASD keys for controling which way your body is moving and the mouse for controlling which way you are looking with your head. Maybe I just never figured out how with the controllers, but is it even possible to say.. sneak sideways across a corridor while looking in a different direction with a controller?

Oh and I almost forgot... get one of those new 8 button mouse. They are nice for gaming smile.gif

yes. in halo for example the left control stick acts as W,A,S, and D and the right stick acts like the mouse. (ofcourse this can be altered)

also, check it: http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1211...IV-Oblivion/p1/

read it, go to the second page and it talks about the 360 controls.

What has been said:
Right Trigger: Melee Attack
Left Trigger: Block
Right Bumper: (i imagine its like R1 for ps2) Cast spell
Left Bumper: Pick up object
B Button: (they called it a journal but they said they equipped stuff from it so i assume they meant Menu)
