I'm thinking the "new and classic" was for non-TES players. For instance, almost all of them are framiler with elves and orcs, but for alot of people kijiht and argonians would be "new" races.

QUOTE(Intestinal Chaos @ Oct 13 2005, 10:36 AM) I know this is more than likely to be a mistake of an un-TES experienced gaming team... but "Expect plenty of races to choose from, new and classic, such as Imperial, Khajiit, Orc, Breton, and various forms of Elf, to name a few." That's from the recent preview by "team-Xbox. I'm not expecting that there are new races.... I just hope this wasn't a mistake. I think it's like what King Death said: That the Elves and Humans are the traditional (TES and other RPGs) races, while the Khajiit and Argonian might be considered 'new' to non-TES fans. It would have been nice, though, to have a new race. Perhaps in the next TES game?

QUOTE(Neela @ Oct 13 2005, 11:26 AM) Altmer = High Elves Bosmer = Wood Elves Dunmer = Dark Elves The lore of past games also refers to snow elves and sea elves, which I would like to see modded in perhaps, but the lore also says the existence of these races is in question because so few have seen them. The snow elves are the only ones really questioned. People know about the Moamer (Tropical(sea) Elves), they've been said to ride serpants into battle. IIRC.... Theres also Ayeleids (wild elves), who were the elves who lived in Cyrodiil, and keep humans as slaves... Until they rebelled, cast the Ayeleids down, forcing them into the deepest depths of Cyrodiil's forests/jungles...now the Wild Elves are little more than a myth for few have seen them. Or perhaps, no one has....

Well it has been confirmed that only the ten races from Morrowind will be playable. At least that's what i think. If there is another playable race than I would like to play as an Ayleid. That would be weird though as you will be serving the empire...
If the Ayeleids are included I hope that they have the skin of the woodelves and the stature of the High Elves. That would make for some wonderful and CLASSICAL elves.
Another good race would be the Imga. Anyway i do not know where i am going with this anymore.

Actually, in one of the previews i read ( in the official x-box magazine) it said there was going to be a dog-like race that may follow you around if you have high charisma.

QUOTE(Aki @ Nov 28 2005, 09:03 PM) Demora is likely the Dev's testing race. IE. Their godmodded (to ze max!!!!!) character they use in trailers and such and for testing and such. So, you know, they don't suck and die. On screen. At E3. Indeed, it would appear (possibly - don't quote me) that demora was in fact a truncation of demo-race. They probably made it 'look' different to fan the fires of hype ;)

QUOTE(Ragnar @ Jan 11 2006, 04:13 AM) If the Ayeleids are included I hope that they have the skin of the woodelves and the stature of the High Elves. That would make for some wonderful and CLASSICAL elves. Adjustable heights + Wood Elves! The only thing that put me off wood elves was the 4 foot high Males. But now we can have some Traditional Godlike Elven Archers. Though, I'm sure there will be a height limitation for each race so Nords are overall taller and woodelves shorter, but there may be some middle ground... Anyone have a link for the German movie(s), please? This post has been edited by Curly_G_: Jan 19 2006, 12:55 PM
