a beep came from the back room, one his computer a file transfer request popped up,

"Ah it's done, let's jsut download the sacns, get some hardcopies and be on our way."

He stood up and headed to the back room, "Rann if you wouldn't mind watching the transfer to make sure it finishes," as he slipped behind the door. Edward approached the large machine and began enering commands, he wiewed the scans through a monitor, and began designating what aprt to print out,

Rann, Lab

Rann leaned against the wall, watching the transfer. How boring.

Syke, RS 413

Syke moved away from Satyana and began pacing around the room. Sure, he would tell. Some ofthe story.

"Alright." Syke said, finally sitting down. "I work erm...delivering goods, if you know what I mean. And well, that guy that just got killed in there, he didn't pay us."

He sighed before continuing. "that means that we can't pay the suppliers, and well that makes them a little pissy."

Mark switched off the open channel on his radio that he had just heard the announcement from, "Did any of you hear that?" he asked the squad shakily.

"What?" some of them asked half-heartedly.

Mark sat in silence for a moment than spoke up, "We are wanted for betrayel against the HDF for opening fire on the Wildcats."

"You're hamster cave kidding?"

"Wish I was..." Mark said as his voice trailed off.

A hopeful voice came on the radio, "I-it's probably just a mistake, right? We lost comm. with Triumph when the Wildcats attacked us, maybe something got jumbled over the radio?"

"We are about to find out," Mark said gravely as Space Station Tiumph grew larger as it was coming into view....

OOC: Sorry Danny but I don´t get it.....why are the brothers always trying to hide everything from their sister???..Why can´t they for once let her in? I mean that makes her look as a complete pain-in-the-@ss....! When all that she wants is help them out...

Satyana was convinced there was something wrong with Syke´s story.....but at the moment she had no desire to confront him....She just looked at him and left......without a word..

She had other things to attend to..such as opening the door to the lab...

OOC: Actually, it makes her look like a caring sister.

Anyways, Satyana was supposed to catch on when he said 'delivering'; I was just using that to show that syke was ashamed.

When I said that Syke would tell some of the story, the only part he was planning on hiding was Rann's involvement, which would be obvious to Satyana anyway.

Sorry about my confusing posts.

Rann, Lab

Once Ed left, Rann grabbed a rather large piece of blue Rithum and pocketed it; it could later be made into some more of his rare ammunition. Hopefully there was enough already for Ed not to notice.

If he does notice though...oh hell, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Satyana sat down on a bench outside the lab....thinking hard....obviously her brothers were involved in something not quite....ehh legal..but nevertheless, they had to stick together..they were family and that was the most important thing...so what would be the best to do?

She had to talk to Syke once again.....at least he was talkable.....

delivering what?

to whom?

why did that scum not pay?..hmm that one was in a bad position now antway! locked in in the lab..no way of gettin out...hmm

Okay....maybe they had commitments to other "customers" and if they couldn´t deliver to them, the whole enterprise was going down the drain...that must not happen.....some of the customers could easily get ....annoyed and then Syke hehe and Rann of course would be in danger..

Ok so she went back to Syke, bashing up the door saying:

"Okies lil´bro...now spit it out! We´re in this together..so I ´ll bail you out if needed...c´mon start talkin´...."

Syke jumped when Satyana came through the door; that was more than a little surprising.

"Oh! Uhh right!" he stammered, still a bit shocked. "I'm in debt to a crimelord because a certain person didn't pay me." he answered. "I wouldn't be surprised if they busted through that door right now."

Syke sighed; now Satyana would feel the need to get involved, and possibly endanger herself. Precisely why he didn't want to tell her in the first place. At least Rann might be somewhat safer.

OOC: but still, a direct attack is the only way to coherently explain an escape. mayb u will just lose your patience, and attack. if you skulk around after we leave we will return the next day, find the lab disfunctional. and move on to another lab, much to our boredom. it's a university they have like dozens of labs for each department.

Edward-UM

The computer had finished transferring she data into holographic sheets and sent the data to the handheld in Ed's pocket as well as the laptop in the lab. Edward collected the slide, put it in it's own case and entered the lab,

"K we are done for tonight, let's get out of here," as he packed everything up. he turned to leave.

"Hmm, that crimelord ..who might that be? and the non-payer..well he´s locked in very secure in my lab..so what do you want to do to him? And that crimelord....we´ll investigate him..he ought to have some weak spot, you better show me all of it now Sykie......what kind of merchandise and the customerlist..well all of it!"

Ral'Nesh Gren, Palace

The Emperor took the bag and inspected the contents. He pressed a button on his chair, opening up communitcation with the Rykar research team.

"I want someone in to pick up the Rithum and its synthetic counterpart; I want to know how far they are coming along."

He turned to his favorite, yet frustrating spy. "Very well; I will have your reward sent to your quarters in the barracks. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Wsa there something else you wanted?"

Syke, RS413

"It doesn't work like that." Syke answered, shaking his head. "We don't know the cargo, or who we deliver to; we only get sent an address."

"My employer, however, is the crimelord Tulac."

Ehzu->capital

"thank you sir, and no i'm sure what you gave me is well worth it. Also because I can't think of anyhting at the moment." Ezhu smiled and left to The armory to return the grenades and otehr items he borrowed.

As he left he passed a scientist, who slipped him a little chunk of rithum and he smiled inwardly.

Edward-Lab, UM

Edward was about to leave, until he realized he forgot to check the rithum samples to make sure he didn't leave any in the lab. Opening the case he knew already one was missing, of the 36 samples evenly spaced in the foam, with identification below each showed that rithum sample # 17 blue, was missing.

Edward looked around the lab, to see clear tables, he walked back into the microscope room and searched, incapable of finding the sample,

I wonder where I left it, how long has it been missing? maybe i left it back at the dorm, I'll check the scans if there aren't 36 then it means i left it back at the dorm.

He pulled the laptop up and opened the folder containing the scans, 36 individual slides.

"Rann, have you seen a piece of blue rithum somewhere, I know I scanned it but I can't find the sample."

Rann, Lab

Rann studied Ed's face for a second before answering. Either he could hide his feelings well, or he really didn't know.

"No, I haven't seen anything since the actual trade." he said, keeping his eyes focused on the transfer.

Edward-UM lab

In turn Ed studied Rann's features, he didn't look at him in the face, he shifted his weight suggesting he was uncomfortable. He didn't know much about the boy having been with him for only two days. he had placed alot of trust in him, maybe a little too much trust,since ed was dealing with the msot valuable compound in both empires. Rann had some rithum bullets, so logically one could expect him to find mre rithum to replenish the suply after it dwindled.

"Rann...look at me. That stone is very important for the research. I need all known variations of rithum to discover a way of synthesizing it. All I am asking is that you return it. no hard feelings."

Rann, Lab

What the hell? There's more of the damned blue stuff in there anyway.[I] he thought. [I]Oh, well, maybe you can turn this one around, Rann.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Rann asked,not noticing the faint glow that ws coming from his left pants pocket. "I didn't steal any of your Rithum, hell, I got it for you."

Hmm, interesting point. If I get caught, maybe I can say it's payment? That's kind of wrong though...

Edward-UM lab

Ed leaned forward and rested his elbows on the counter, he stared into Rann's eyes. unable to detect any emotion, upon further scrutiny i dawned on him that they were cybernetic. He hid the feeling of surprise.

Damn it, Ed, you jumped to a conclusion and now look at where it's got you. Yo knew you should have approached it more cautiously, I bet it fell and is under a cabinet or something. and similar thought raced through ed's head. he broke eye contacts and avoided looking at Rann, he felt ashamed for accusing him of such a thing, he had after all proved himself at the dock. he dropped his head,

Might as well apologize,

"Listen Rann, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have jumped to such a conclusion, it's just ...." he lifted his head as he said this, the blue glow catching his eyes and drawing his attention until he stopped mid sentence.

Rann, Lab

Rann was actually feeling kind of bad until Ed stopped.

What is he staring at, my crotch? He looked down himself, to see that his pants were glowing.

He stuffed his hand in his pocket (purposefully avoiding the Rithum) and pulled it out, producing a power cell from within.

"Ha, I was looking for this." he began; rambling always helped get things off-topic. "I was using this to power the datapad that I crushed when I realized that I was being hunted. Oh, yeah, I forgot that I have to get a new chip for that too. Did you know that a majority of chips people use aren't even their own? I think it's like 65 percent of all datatpad owners or something ridiculous like that. Hey look," he said, pointing to the computer right beside him. "The transfer is done."

"Anyways, what was I talking about? Oh yeah, the power cell. It came with the computer, but see how I modified it?" he continued as he pointed to a small device protruding from the cylindrical object. "It made it so that I couldn't close the cell in the datatpad, and made it a little bigger, but I could go without recharging for weeks. I made one for my brother too, but he just gave it to Satyana because it 'made his datapad too big' I swear, microscopic is too big for that guy; he has no appreciation for invention whatsoever."

He stopped for a second to look at the door. How inviting it looked...

"Hey, listen, I'm gonna go grab something to eat, see you tomorrow birght and early." he said, waving as he headed for the door.

Edward noticed the glow slowly fade as the powersupply was pulled aay from it
That's strange, so he does have the rithum, but why did it glow when it was near the powersupply.

he half-heard what Rann was rambling about, catching a few bits of information, "...It made it so that I couldn't close the cell in the datatpad..." an open soruce that means the rithum touched a live wire, it was conducting the power, but not as electricity like a metal, but turning it into light energy or something similar. that's peculiar. Edward didn't stop Rann from leaving, he had many questions that needed answering. Edward was snapped out of his thoughts as he heard the sound much like that when someone leans against something and it gives way. Edward looked to the door, and could see Rann's look of surprise as a man crouching against the outside door fell into the room, he seemed familiar yet Ed did not get a good look of the man's face.

Ed stood up as the man scrambled around.

Length wise the space station 'Triumph' was by far one of largest stations in the universe, if not the largest in the Outer Milky Way. It's length numbered almost 197km, enough to hold the entire fleet of humanity three times over. In fact in was so large that the station when being built, and to this day, attracted many numerous rocks and other space debris so that the station gained its own natural satellites.

However, the satellites were not limited to being natural. Among its perimeter hundreds of massive instalations floated about, each holding a Dual 2800mm Long Range Howitzer. These guns were capable of bringing down the heaviest of Rykar ships in mere seconds, but there was one major flaw to the gun. After every two shots the cannons needed to be completely replaced, limiting its defensive power.

The forward observation post of the Triumph space picked up the unidentified craft.
