what race is the sillhouette again? I am developing a history here of ancient conflict between the sylphs and the sillhouette's race. it will make the fight that much better, Of course as of yet Megil know the silhouette isn't normal, but the silhouette is not aware of Megil's inheritance. though his alter sue of magic we will assume will give it away.

the silhouette is the name of the top mages of the moldair which are like tsaesci and live among them. They have a black hide however and since they are kinda evil their appearance is not that of the tsaesci.

I really like the idea of the sylphs and silhouettes fighting i am eager to read about it

Does anybody read the imperial library anymore?

Tsaeci are the Akaviri race that invaded Tamriel many times in the past. Akavir is a very oriental styled Continent and the ruling race there are the snake people, the Tsaeci. Katanas, Shurikens, everything that seems oriental in make is a remnant of Tsaeci culture that they brought with them during their invasions. Sometime in the 2nd era or maybe the 3rd all Tsaeci still within Tamriel were booted off. Moldair is a race from Akavir that the Tsaeci have, I believe, enslaved.

Want to know more about it? Head to the TIL and read about Akavir, there's a whole page dedicated to it.

I talked to him about this, and just a reminder that if you're planning on inventing any new races talk to me, as I am well phrased in the TIL. Sylphs work because no one knows a damned thing about what lurks under the sea besides rumor of were-sharks and Dreugh societies. Walking races though, that's a bit tougher.

Furthermore, Florodine, as I recall people suggested I take over after stomache ache left, and when he came back he thought about running it again but the RP was a little too disorienting so he told me to continue. So, here's the verdict on Solstheim.

Research the characters you use. Look up FAQs on Gamefaqs about solstheim and search for information about quests that show the names of the skaal leaders in case you forgot them. Those guys are still in charge. If you are planning on doing a little revolt on Solstheim, it would make a nice sub-plot as a break to all this political turmoil.

When we do it, don't start yourself and do it in a day, we can do it together, and different people who want to partake in the subplot can play abandoned legionnaires running the fort, citizens of Raven Rock, etcetera...

yeah that sounds good to me. Im going to say the leader of the skaal died of age i mean he was very old. The chiefs heir (me) will take the cheifship of the skaal, and since the empire pulled out of solsteim he uses this as a chance to retake the entire island. also there needs to be the leader of thirsk. It may be a small place in the game. but were it real like viking and gaulic mead halls were, thered be up to 75 nord warriors, and of course the woman of the tribe unlike in the game would live in homes right outside of there. so you have a tribe to rival the skaal. Then you have the factor of the EETC. He/she could be anyone cause the old factor is now gone. So we just have to say whoever claims the job is the one who killed him. Then someone could be the leader of the fort. Again it could be anyone cause the old leader carias (sp?) would be taken back to cyrodill and then to morrowind

so thats the gist of solsteim anybody have any other ideas

*Silhouette with a capital is my silhouette leader *silhouettes with lowercase are just regulars

Well the the reason the Tsaeci enslaved them is because the Tsaeci were'nt as powerful. The moldair were superior but teribly outnumbered. So the tsaeci enslaved them. The silhouettes are moldair mages who usually end up being the chiefs as well. The moldair are black skinned and not like african but pitch black. The silhouettes are almost shadowy they are black but dont seem to have a physical shape. Of course they do but it sometimes confuses people who try to hit them cause they leave an after image when they move due to their shadow skin. The Silhouette was the most powerful among them and with fifty moldair and four other silhouettes he sailed across on a stolen Tsaeci ship. Of course the Tsaeci just thought it was another ship in their invasion fleet. Once in morrowind on vvardenfell the silhouettes all went to seperate daedric shrines. They all lived on the telvanni lands and were quite accostomed to the sea for that was their source of food. not fish but ships that went of course which offered sailors for a feast. Then years ago a great necromancer, Miran, enlisted the silhouettes and the moldair. That is who people are fighting now.

Everthing but the Solstheim part is good to me. Solstheim looks more like it could be the great last bulk of the Imperials. Congrgated in raven rock and fort Frostmoth.

The Skaal are peaceful, nature loving folk, they've had the whole island the whole time except those lands the Imperials occupy, and they don't object so long as the imperial respect the land. Thirsk is just a bunch of drunkards who are skaal-outcasts.

As for the whole, women thing with Thrisk, you do remeber Women are more or less equal with men in TES, right? Why would they be outside? Besides, Thirsk is thirsk, not a gaulic mead hall. Despite the glaring similarities. tongue.gif

the solsteim part is fine. The skaal maybe peacful but they are still people of tamirel or of any place. That can change. You cant just say because in the time of bloodmoon they were peacful so they are always that way. It is through their love of nature that the new leader starts a war. Many of the troops in solsteim would be pulled out to fight, and thirsk i know isnt the same but they have chiefs and warriors so they are still a faction

actually you could turn that around. Instead of the skaal being the attackers it could be the renegade legions. They start looting everything of value in the ancient ruins of solsteim and this angers the skaal. Then the legions and skaal argue and a war starts.

here are the major things people could be in solsteim

Skaal chieftain
Factor of the EETC
Leader of the legions
Chief of Thirsk
Reaver Chief (They are raiders after all i think this would be a good sub-plot)
Various adventurers
Werewolf
Travelers

The soldiers causing a ruckuss sounds good. But Werewolf is more a state of being than Faaction. The inherent Werewolves of Solstheim are all nuts, and theres only 9 of them. No use to even another *sane* Werewolf.

yeah i guess the werewolf idea isnt good. So you think the legions who are leaderless is a good idea for fighting the skaal?
