Kinda matched my mood today. The sky was grey and dark and it was raining and I was in a weird mood today. But how a song I haven't heard for several months, and that on the radio, got stuck in my head is beyond me.

Slipknot-Duality

Again, a dark song, but I kinda like it. I was listening to it on the radio for a long time before I found out that it was a Slipknot song. I'm too cheap to spring for a cd, and I don't like downloading music, so I listen to the radio a lot.

This is very anti-war. I thought for the longest time that this was about the war in the Middle East. I was shocked to find out that it wasn't.

Ok, so I have an odd taste in music. You can stop laughing now. I like just about anything that's rock, and little else. I do like the Goldfinger version of 99 Red Balloons, that's good too. I like rock and anti-war songs. How's that?


I don't buy cds or download music, as one is expensive and the other could get me fined and end up being more expensive. (Plus, it's illegal, and it isn't right to steal music) I listen to the radio a lot, and these songs come up pretty often, and they are some of my favorites.

Local Freestyles that I recorded.

Currently having a lil' jazz marathon here before heading off to a drumming session, where we'll most likely "rock". Last friday, I went to a Charlie Hunter Trio concert -- that's Charlie Hunter on his 8-string, John Ellis on sax and Derrek Phillips on drums -- and it was a magical experience.
There was much excellent, varied improvisation, and they just went so well together. Been listening to lots of CH since then.

Skimming through some cool live-stuff at the moment.
Videos @ CharlieHunter.com - "Just a closer walk with thee" is pretty cool. For those who bothered getting Real Player, give 'em a view!
There're also quite a few audio tracks; Audio @ CharlieHunter.com. One I really like there and have been listening through a lot just for kicks, is the "Percussion Shuffle" from the last one there, "Yoshi's, Oakland, CA - December 2000".

Also excellent and pleasant time-killers would be live-recordings from john axon ellis.com -- the sax in the trio. I've only gotten through "Moore's alphabet" there, but that's a pretty neat one.

In between all that comes Whitesnake and other Tommy Aldridge material. He actually came all the way to Bergen a few weeks ago and had a drum clinic, and much of it still lingers 'round in me head - and me chest, because they'd amplified the bass pretty heavily. Imagine that and a rocker taking a jog on his double pedals.

A lonely life where no one understands you? Big deal, everyone has those days. But don't give up because the music do? Oh, wonderful reason not to commit suicide. Because the music understands you. Great. This song is pretty depressing, but I kind of like it.

I just like the way this sounds. Besides, it's (yet another) lonely song, which is the kind of song that I like.

My mother bought the new Fiona Apple CD, Extraordinary Machine, and it hasn't come out of her radio since then. She hasn't stopped playing it. Well, I've probably posted it ten times before, but Cause=Time by Broken Social Scene. I'm also listening to some Johnny Cash and some music by the Queers.

Right now I'm testing out some Susperia, listning to Chemistry... Norwegian band if I remember totally right, dont know much about them but it's certainly not bad music but out of all their songs I can say that Chemistry is my favourite even tho it's not my "real" taste... By that I mean I dont listen to that much of them, think it would go under Straight Metal.. Heavy Metal dont remember

Can also add that I'm switching between Chemistry and the two other songs - Devil May Care and I Am Pain. I Am Pain thing I got a real good flow with the guitar and drums nearing the middle of the song
