He's not that great and powerful a wizard. All these politicians are cowards at heart. I was debating over having him fight back but decided against it.

mhmm *ahem* I still see it post, new vivec does not have cantons . Also please stop demolishing my city. fights are all nice and good, but they do not need to involve collapsing buildings everytime. I assure you the construction of new vivec is quite stable despite it's decorous nature, so no more meager fireballs smashing 20'x20' holes in my walls. mmmkay, That's all . Thank you.

Well, you do kinda have to have skill to rise in rank in House Telvanni. I figured he'd try something afterall. Everyone knows Telvanni kill for rank. And that if they get away with it, other Telvanni see it as just..etc.

I fixed that; Melkaan rose to power by killing Neloth, and Amili helped as a supporter; apparently she was decieved by Melkaan. All politicians have silver tongues. (except for the ones the get nowhere)

Yeah, I always sort of thought what gave Melkaan his power was the Pyromage and his fame of being a Uvirith. Never saw it as much of him being a great and power mage as much as him just being good at picking his allies.
