QUOTE(minque @ Dec 12 2005, 03:44 PM) Just want to share the news, my daughter has now been in US for a week, she´s arrived at her host-family in Ann Arbor MI, and so far everything is great. It´s nice and snowy where she is, the family have taken very good care of her and the previous au-pair has introduced her to a lot of ppl..... Oh guys I really feel like I want to go visit her as soon as possible..it sounds very nice what she´s telling.....so I´m now saving up all money I can spare so I can go on a loooooong trip to US next year..... anywere near missouri?

I think Danny that your confusing the US with North Carolina which in all actuallity is a sucky place to be if you don't live in Charlotte.

Well, its weird really. Toronto (a place I go often) seems like just another city to my, but to many people visiting Canada see it as almost a holy land. Its so new and different to them it really can't be compared to our views on it. I understand what you mean though.
But yeah, if you ever get the chance, visit Canada. Its kind of like visiting twenty diferent countries in one. The landscape, people and language varies so much, from small towns to the rockies to the flat, harvesting lands that seem to go on forever. Also, we have the CN tower, Skydome, the Awesomely awesome parlement building (which no other country has. No country. None at all. None) and the Royal hotel, one of the places downtown where only crack addicts sleep (and a murderer).

I've to many places in the US, and I've even been to Canada and Europe. Each country has something special. I for one go googly eyed over monuments and old library's because I sorta would like to be a historian. Most of all however I am quite nationalistic. I love my country and I feel proud that others wish to visit it. So I guess I'm a outspoken critic for it. /end rant Minque you need to visit a Amish town.. thats really weird.. EDIT: No offense to any canadians that reside on this board but I lost a good deal of respect for Canada in general after I sat behind a car with a liscence plate from Quebec that was so busy looking at the stuff around them that they didn't go through the 2 green lights that flicked on and off in front of them. But canada is very beautiful.. Cheers to that. This post has been edited by Channler: Dec 13 2005, 05:55 AM

QUOTE(Dantrag @ Dec 12 2005, 11:56 PM) I like America just fine. I'm allowed to say what I want, pretty much do what I want, believe how I want, etc. I was speaking of the US as a tourist attraction though, not as a home. US as home = YAY US as vacation = these people are dumb. Buwahaha. Personally I just think NC sucks (we gots loads of tobacco feilds.. YAY!) but the rest of the US (aside from central america... YAY More farmland!) is very interesting. Nappa Valley in CA is awesome.

Sounds like you might find Elfen Lied to be interesting as well. It's just a bit more... bloody. Agreed though, NGE was good, in its own strange and intriguing way.

Heey...I´m going to US anyway....it´s a dream I´ve had for many years and nowadays the travel is not that expensive so it´s not a big deal to fly over! I´m very curious of the country and I´m sure it´s worth a visit! and so is Canada! My daughter will go to Canada for sure, where she lives it´s just an hour´s drive they say! I on my behalf find Sweden a very expensive somewhat boring country to visit, but it´s a good one to live in....sort of! So beware guys.....I´m coming over!!!

The movie basically replaces the last two episodes, 25 and 26, and offers an alternative ending. Or well, some say that the events in the movie and the last two episodes take place concurrently. Regardless of whether it's a new ending or just the old one from another perspective, it's an interesting watch. Perhaps a bit more depressing than the series itself. That is, if you found NGE to be depressing in the first place.

I am working on getting the movies. I have simply watched the series with the extended episodes . The last two episodes on the series were way to confusing, it had me doubting wether the entire thing was real or not and the last part were everyone is like "Congratulations" I was like WTF.
