Sorry, lack of sleep. You want to hear Ironic? My brothers Grammar teacher used to call grammar "Gwamma" even though she lacked an accent or lisp.

Also, I agree with you Channler, and I shouldn't have made it sound like "well since I did this in grade three that means that I'm the smartest man on Earth".

Could be worse, you could also be a secret agent that saves the world weekly. Imagine balencing homework and relationships while fighting crime and deathray after deathray? I feel sad for the son of Indiana Jones.

Yea, most of the time, the homework goes just fine, but then suddenly the teachers get a real kick, you might call it, but it is not to much though.

I'm pretty good at reading, so I should'nt have a problem. The book I have read most is LOTR, and the HP series, I actually read the whole LOTR in 8 days( I had just gotten it then, the day I turned thirteen, and I did almost nothing but read), yea, I was exausted after then but it was worth it.

*takes some tea*

Okay, I'm not usually the braggin type, but today I couldn't resist: I read The Hobbit AND LOTR in 26h. It was over Christmas break, and I really didn't do anything other than read, eat, and sleep. I did eat a lot of candy; all that sugar must have helped keep my eyes open.

I don't want to brag, but I read the Hobbit in third grade and LOTR in 5th.
I'm not lying either, I was just an advanced reader (for my age).

I likewise read LOTR in 5th grade. there's a pic in the yearbook of my leaning on the book.

You dare defile the one book by using as a leisure tool? You shall pay for this.

5th grade for me as well, this is getting creepy. I can top that though (myself, not saying I think I'm better than all of you). Darwin in 7th.

I don't know how to read...

Lol. According to the stupid grade level test thingies they made me take once, I have a reading level of 13.0. That's grade thirteen, the way they explained it. Which is college, I guess. I believe that test was in second grade. unsure.gif I prefer my own method of measurement. I timed myself, I read approximately 200 words per minute. That was also a few years ago, so I might be faster now, but it was also with a pretty simple book.

Not that it matters. I can read as well as I need to. I used to read a lot (like, I counted my reading in novles per day, not pages per day) but I stopped reading so much, recently. Mostly, I just read what I need to for school (not much). And sometimes I reread old books, ones that I particularly liked, but I read it in small sections, usually while waiting for something. (like while I'm cooking, or while I'm waiting for my internet connection to load)

I read The Hobbit over the summer between grades 4 and 5 for a book report. (stupid summer homework) I liked it, although it wasn't (and still isn't) my favorite book. I read LOTR at some point later than that, I think it was later that year, but it might have been 6th or 7th grade. So you guys have me beat.

I'm still a fast reader wen I want to be. I started reading Steven King's novel, "It" not all that long ago, and it creeped me out (sorry, clowns are creepy sometimes) so much that I decided not to sleep untill I knew how to kill IT. I finished the book before the sun was up. (and I started after it went down) So I can still read when I need to, I just...don't.

Megil- You were leaning on LOTR? What did it ever do to you? smile.gif

Red- Got me beat.

I haven't posted much in the General Discussion forum, since I spend most of my W4O time reading the amazing fan fictions. Even so, I wanted to let you all know what a great bunch of people you are; W4O has become one of my favorite places on the web.

So, it is with some sadness that I will likely need to spend some time away from the forums. My wrist has been killing me, and I'm scheduled for surgery next Wednesday. Using the computer hurts (but you guys are worth it) and I don't expect that to get better for a couple weeks. To all the amazing authors: my apologies in advance for not being able to read and comment on your wonderful stories. I'll be back as soon as I can.

Hey....

Hope you get through it all right! Good luck!

And when you're back, you better get some more ergonomic mouse and keyboard, so this doesn't happen again! I can give you a few pointers (using all-ergonomic gear myself).

Thanks for all the support. While ergonomics are always a good idea, this is completely unrelated to computer use. Actually, the doctors have no idea what causes the type of problem I have.

I will try to visit here as often as I can, but there will be at least a few days where I won't even be able to sit at the computer. But don't let that stop any of you from updating your stories; I will be hoping for lots of updates when I do get back here after the surgery.

Speaking of reading, I tried to read a paperback last night. Do you realize how hard it is to read a book with only one hand (especially when its not your dominant hand)? Give it a try sometime. I do have a lot of stuff to read for work, and it's printed out rather than in books, so I'm sure I will still get plenty of reading done during my recovery.

Wow, it takes a long time to type one-handed.

Thanks again for being such a great bunch of people.
