Welcome everyone, to the Oblivion contest.

We got together with a couple of other Elder Scrolls websites - Elderscrolls.NET, Oblivion Source, Planet Elder Scrolls, TESSource and the Imperial Library - and decided to run a contest; Mostly to shorten the waiting time, but also because we think it'll be a lot of fun. The contest is about dressing up like someone from Tamriel: a person, a creature a monster - whatever you want. To spice things up, Bethesda and ourselves are donating some very cool prizes for the three best entries. So be sure to check it out, participate, and most of all: have fun!

What is it about?

Simple: dress up as a citizen or monster of Tamriel and take a photo of it! The choice of motive is entirely yours, as long as it fits into the general Elder Scrolls theme.


How does it work?

A panel of seven judges from the Elder Scrolls scene will pick the best entries which will win our great prizes, most of which have been graciously donated by Bethesda Softworks! Check out the prizes here. The only condition to enter the contest is that you send a "normal" picture of yourself without disguise so we can be sure it's really you. This picture will not be published. Additionally, if you wish to protect your privacy, you can choose to have your picture published without name.

What happens to my pictures?

Your entry picture will be published on the official contest forum. Updates will be made every 1-2 days. Your verification photo without costume will be kept confidential.


Who can enter?

Really anyone! Except the judges and staff of the participating fan sites, of course. That is, they can enter, but they cannot win


But ... I'm shy!

Despair not. If you so wish, you can choose for your entry to be anonymous. This means your entry picture will be shown, but only with an entry number, not with your name alongside it. Please note: Your private (verification) photo will never be shown, no matter if you select the anonymous option or not. Only the judges will see it, and it will be deleted after the contest has finished.

Can we enter more than one photo

There are some really good additions again. I'm beginning to wonder if Sid lives in a medieval castle. How many weapons do you have? Pretty cool.
davidtabor4, I believe you can send in 3. I'm not sure though, so I'll have to check. If it does, I think I'll try my original idea again. Some moody lighting in the room, and action!

Eh, yeah. Sentors looks quite awesome too, but I still think that the contest should only allow purely TES related things, like no british armours. Oh well, if you can't beat them, use fire . Hehe, burn my enemies I will!

i thought that you had to live in america or canada to enter

I'm making a new harness in the forge. My brother's modifying arms and legs. Everything's gonna be really shiny, and im going to have a black tin thing all over the chest

Please make it TES related, I beg you. People like Thero might lose because other people have Mediveil armor, but if you make TES related armor it will make it a fairer win and you'll be able to brag about your new dragonbone cuirass to all the forum members.

Absolutely

It's a little unfair if people have expensive medieval armour e.t.c because it isn't very TES and it sort of eclipses the other pictures, several of which are much more Elder Scrollsy... I mean they look really cool but all they had to do was buy armour of the Internet.

Something to think about... to someone who knows about trees, archtect styles, and by careful attention to detail, one can tell where many of our contest entries live, in a very general sense, this doesn't matter to most of us sense we are willing to narrow it down to a ~500 mile radius by saying which province/state/country we live in.

Possibly a bit drastic to buy an entire set piece of armour off the net to win a prize that doesn't quite equate to that cost

I'm no judge, but if i were to enter i'd go for ingenuity, imagination and scenery and mix them all together. Remember, not every race dresses like an Imperial

Y'know, it would be interesting to see someone "dress" up as a Fire Atronach, though all they'd have to do is pour petrol all over themselves and set it alight.
