I'm sure this is floating around somewhere, but please enlighten me...

Are the skill ranks (Novice, Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert, Master) at even 20 skill level intervals as such?

0-19 Novice
20-39 Apprentice
40-59 Journeyman
60-79 Expert
80-100 Master

Haven't seen any exact thresholds regarding the skill ranks besides the fact that master means that you have reached 100* in a skill. So perhaps it will be something like this:

0-20 Novice
21-45 Apprentice
46-70 Journeyman
71-99 Expert
100 Master

Those are just numbers I came up with right away.

i c...I just got the Prima strategy guide, but it fails to mention what the skill rank breakdowns are...

You guys were both close. The real breakdown is:

0-20: Novice
21-40: Apprentice
41-60: Journyman
61-80: Expert
81-100: Master

I'd love to hear his source though. MSFD himself has said at least twice already that Master means you have exactly 100 points in a skill. And honestly, I think I'll stick to believing MSFD over a fan.
