I just finished the first plane, wondering how hard you guys thought it was.

I saved like 40 times and died a lot. Those little Scamps are toughies smile.gif especially in numbers.

Maybe this should be in "Spoiler" section?

So you get to shut down a get that early in the game? I thought it would be like one of the major acomplishment? Or maybe you've been playing constantly since release? tongue.gif

No, your first one is pretty early on (in the main quest - it's always possible that you don't start the main quest until you've played hundreds of hours).

I totally Agree that it was pretty hard Especially with a warrior that has a crappy healing spell that I could only cast once and I didn't have any healing potions (I am to used to morrowind and not needing any) but now I have found 9 gates.

One thing I also found stupid

SPOILER if you don't want to know oblivion gate locations.

Right Northeast of Leyawiin there are 2 Gates like 200 feet from each other really stupid they could have put it anywhere why so close?

I was level one at the time and just summoned skeletons to help me kill everything. It was easy.

Except the new fireball thing. And those arent the real scamps. Real scamps in the castle killed me so fast... I hate summoned scamps from dreadra mages.

I went through at level 9; the monsters are tougher, but still not too bad. Playing at average difficulty Redguard I just slashed the snot out of them - didn't even use adrenaline rush once (which is really a broken-strong power).

I was a lvl five dark elf, even with the 75% resist fire magic it was very hard, especially when my sword broke, and I had to use the dremora maces, the hardest part were actually after the gate when taking back the city tongue.gif

Edit: I found out cold dmg. was pretty usefull.

yah...it was very tough the first time around. and they call these leveled creatures? biggrin.gif

still, my bow and sneak came in handy. sneak shot the first time, whip out your weapon. I also (through chance) stumbled upon a nice find. If you ask the guy who approaches you when your first in the gate to follow you and help fight rather than go back to the others, he eventually dies (this can be accelerated depending on how much you assist him smile.gif )
he is wearing a full suit of chain mail (nice for light armor) and a good shield. that helped my char alot (like 5-6 extra AC). and it didnt count as stolen either.

That, and i also splurged and bought a silver greatsword. sneak atack with bow first shot, pull out great sword, and use block.....but I found that if i kept on moving it was hard for them to target me. and i was fast enough to jump in and hit them and back out before they get a swing at me. Watch their swing animations...they have predictable patterns.

This step in and swing then step out pattern also helped me kill a nasty frost daedra in another quest. your movements in this play a big part in combat. Dont forget that when you are crouched (sneak) or when you are blocking your char moves alot slower...cycle between moving and blocking.

I love games that do that, a noise or something right before the attack, you can stay alive quite a while if you memorize that stuff

Psh, it was...moderatley dificult.

I'm a marksman khajiit, so everything in open areas was like water to me, especially with the delicious armor, arrows, and weapons that the town guard droped upon death.

The only point i found dificult was the close quartered castle combat.
but i fought through it with none to many deaths.

Those imperial legion meat shields serve their purpose well.

yeah it was only the very last bit of the castle that had me killed time after time. ah, the wonders of quickload. i eventually managed to do it because when you enter the last big room, it seems that its kind of randomised which enemies are in there. sometimes is was just all those skinny glowing guys, others it was scamp heavy. i managed to get through a scamp heavy one because they are a) easier to kill and cool.gif arrows seemed to bounce off the firey things (the one surviving npc guard i had with me was an archer). and then i just waited and hour to heal and went to find the count.

oh, actually i have a tip for killing fireball shooting things. if youre a heavy warrior, try to get as close to them as possible. run up to them dodging, then get right in their face. they wont fireball you from that range they just use melee attacks. so then its simply a matter of block-whackwhackwhackwhackwhack-block.

I actually went and soloed the castle first then did gate. It was tough inside the castle alone but it was worth it when i beat the gate.
