QUOTE(MarkII @ Mar 30 2006, 05:05 PM) i thought in oblivion you had the ability to invest in shops, so the more money you put in the higher the shopkeeper's total gold will be each time you go on. if this is the case, then any merchant would be potentially the one with the most gold. the maximum ammount of money that you can invest in ANY shop is limited to only 500 gold which (in my opinion) is the dumbest thing that Bethesda has done so far in this game.

OMG!! 500 gold investment limit?? That is crap... I suppose with the new system, you cant buy his items from him to increase his gold and then sell you EXPENSIVE item, wait 24 hours, then sell his stuff back (like Morrowind) can you?? It sounds like maybe you would lose a lot of money that way and I dont even know if that would work. /sigh, I havent gotten it yet. Maybe next week, mon-wed, I am hoping...
WISH ME LUCK!! Cadaver

Darn.... ok, then is there anyway to sell your most expensive items or do you just suck it and sell em for way less?? I mean, if there isnt a way to get your money's worth, then might as well get what you can. Otherwise its just useless junk... Looks like 2000 (from the 1500 fence someone found +500 investment) is all you can get... What a drag. Bethesda really should have fixed that. By the time you have enough stuff to sell that is expensive enough to rate finding a merchant with more money, then money stops being worth anything. I was hoping at least with the investment idea we would have SOMETHING to do with 1,000,000 gold. Is there any way to mod a different limit in??

QUOTE(strra @ Mar 30 2006, 09:00 PM) update: i found a merchant with 1500 gold, but still not enough to sell my armor for a decent price... Name is Fathis Ules... he's a fence for the thieves guild pretty late in the missions... anyone know of anything better? Haven't gone that far in thieves guild quests yet.... where is he? And I'm assuming he only has that much when you advance enough, right? He still appears to be the richest.... haven't spent any time out in the black marsh etc to see if there's and easter eggy/mudcrab type merchent yet, though.

SOMEWHERE, in the dev quotes it says there is a, or the, Scamp-like guy, didn't mention the mudcrab though....so if you look hard enough it should be there somewhere......if I find out I will let ya know.

Thx. I also found out that you have to have given him a special sword? Does that sound familiar?
