QUOTE(Zelda_Zealot @ Apr 4 2006, 09:28 PM) I have to say Horror, some of the less scary movies like Saw are good, but other wise I can't stand Horror. I don't think Saw is horror. I think the movie sucks, too. It's just doing though with blood and because of the open ending we have to wait till Saw 3... Ontopic, I don't think a specefic (specific? I don't know the spelling, sorry ) genre sucks. Every genre has ups and downs, I think you just gotta have a verdict on each movie in particular. the only thing i ever get terrified about is when i forget to save before i do something important and die. horror is pointless, it's not even scary. i do like gruesome movies like saw and texas chainsaw massacre

I was going to vote for horror, but then i thought about "House of 1000 Corpses".
can't vote against rob zombie, or either of his films. the first is just plain surreal and insane, the second is one of the grittiest movies i've ever seen.

QUOTE(xycolian @ Apr 9 2006, 05:20 AM) I absolutely hate childrens movies because they make it a point in those movies to state the most obvious things; which is pretty annoying. That sucks for sure, there's always a 'wise lesson' in it, which you can just feel coming and it annoys you when it actually comes out in the end - most of the time by the main character that does something stupid and learns from the mistake. Why not just make a great story with a victorious ending and thats it? I guess actual children for who the movies are made get sick of it too...

Romantic comedies are horrible with Romance probably being even worse(I don't even dare to watch those). And guess what, the rest of the family loves them while I just go: ,,AAAARGH, stop the freaking kissing and get a life!" Umm yeah, that probably means that every movie dissappoints me at some point. The only movies that I have seen without a single kiss are those children movies. And I don't like horror. On the other hand, Science-fiction rocks. Unfortunately most of them are of the 'lots-of-flashes-but-no-plot-or-decent-thinking-about-even-the-most-basic-of-physics' kind. Still, there are a few good ones like 2001: A space oddyssey. Only bad thing there is that the ending was just confusing if you didn't read the book.
