QUOTE(HyPN0 @ Apr 10 2006, 03:58 PM) Did you try my theory? To walk the exact path to it,without taking any shortcuts? Yeah, I tried that but the stupid shrine still wouldn't activate. My guess is that there might be a fork in the road up to the shrine somewhere on the mountain but the shrine will only activate after choosing the right fork in the road. Again: if anyone has the guide I would be happy if you chose to divulge it's information about Hermaeus Mora's Shrine Activation. This post has been edited by xycolian: Apr 11 2006, 12:02 AM

Let's try do decode this. Here's quote from Imperial Library:
Hermaeus (or Hoermius or Hormaius or Herma) Mora, whose sphere is scrying of the tides of fate, of the past and future as read in the stars and heaven, and in whose dominion are the treasures of knowledge and memory.
Herma-Mora (The Woodland Man): Ancient Atmoran demon who, at one time, nearly seduced the Nords into becoming Aldmer. Most Ysgramor myths are about escaping the wiles of old Herma-Mora. Also called the Demon of Knowledge, he is vaguely related to the cult origins of the Morag Tong ('Foresters Guild'), if only by association with his brother/sister, Mephala. (Varieties of Faith in the Empire)
The summoning date of Hermaeus Mora is 5th of First Seed.
Hermaeus Mora is associated with artifact: Oghma Infinium.
The Oghma Infinium is a tome of knowledge written by the Ageless One, the wizard-sage Xarses. All who read the Infinium are filled with the energy of the artifact which can be manipulated to raise ones abilities to near demi-god proportions. Once used, legend has it, the Infinium will disappear from its wielder. It leaves one with 30 bonus points to distribute among the character's attributes as one wants.
Maybe the answer is here........

QUOTE(xycolian @ Apr 11 2006, 01:18 AM) EDIT: Heh, this is all too complicated for me, so I'm just gonna wait till someone who has the guide tells us how to activate it. Damn it...... I figured he is a Daedra of Knowledge.... So maybe it means ''You haven't follow the path that Hermaeus Mora requires'' is actualy ''You haven't fallow the path of Knowledge'',whatever could that mean..... Whis beats me,so i will be waiting too

QUOTE(Furious_George @ Apr 11 2006, 05:59 PM) uesp (can't provide link while im at work) has the guide to this quest. Haven't done it myself. IIRC, you have to be lvl 25+, done all other daedra quests, and meet a few other criteria, then get the quest from someone. Go to uesp.com and check it out. My guide says level 21...

QUOTE(Furious_George @ Apr 11 2006, 11:05 PM) THERE we go. Boethiah. I liked Vile's helm in MW but I don't think it's very attractive in this game when the persuade minigame is so easy. Persuading? I have high personality but i don't persuade. Here's what i do: You will have to be a member of Arcane University.Go to spellmaking altar. Make a Charm spell with magnitude 100 and duration 3.Since game pauses when you talk to somebody duration doesn't metter. To have this very useful spell you will need petty 25 Illusion. You can easyly develop that even as a minor This post has been edited by HyPN0: Apr 11 2006, 10:10 PM

QUOTE(HyPN0 @ Apr 10 2006, 05:37 PM) *****************************UPDATE******************************** I got the guide: It's harder than we thought. Here'a quote from the guide: To get this quest you must fulfill four conditions: 1.Complete the other 14 Daedric Quests 2.Have reached ''The Blood of Daedra'' segment in the Main Quest in which you're assigned to collect a Daedric artifact.(This is designed to ensure that the player who's performed the other 14 quests and has been careless with his Daedric loot can still find an artifact available for use in the Main Quest. However,we'll tell you right now that you won't want to give this artifact away.) 3.You've reached level 21 or higher. 4.Go to sleep,it doesn't metter where ok, well I guess I sort of lied in my Original post; I've completed every daedric quest except for clavicus vile's (Umbra is the best sword in the game so I'm not gonna lose it just so I can complete the quest ) So i've got everything thats required for that quest except for the "finish all 14 daedric shrine quests" part. EDIT: I can't go to uesp.com cause it says that the domain name is expired, so can someone tell me the reward of hermaeus Mora's shrine? (I wanna know if It's worth losing Umbra) This post has been edited by xycolian: Apr 12 2006, 12:04 AM

What??? Umbra is the best sword in the game Cammon it only gives Soultrap effect!!! I can cast soultrap when i need it. Anyway you can go to the shrine and tell Clavicus that deal is off.He won't be happy but you will finish the quest, and be able to start the Hermaeus Mora's quest. EDIT:And offocurse you will keep Umbra This post has been edited by HyPN0: Apr 12 2006, 12:05 AM

It's not it's effect that makes it the best sword in the game, but it's the fact that I'm level 47, and it has the highest attack out of any sword that I've seen so far (attack is 33).
