Ive read all the writings and had it translated e.g Fire, Frost, damage magicka, fortify magicka, but where do i cast these, i tried on the piller but all that happens is i get shocked, im so confused any help would be much appreciated

You cast it all on the Pillar.But you have to cast it in specific order:
Fire Damage Frost Damage Damage Magicka Fortify Magicka -------------------- ''Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.''

All the needed scrolls are in the chest...and you can use touch as they dont fire at you if you get it right.
