Have you noticed a lot of differences in the NPCs of Oblivion compared with those of Morrowind? I haven't actually played long enough for anything spectacular due to my waiting for adequate computer hardware to play at all. But my hubby Cain had a weird thing happen. He was fighting guards at the gate with his Brawler Orc (who fights hand-to-hand wearing heavy armor) in order to level up fast. Some Orc citizen wearing a brown leather vest who was standing near his mod chest, suddenly reached into his mod chest and took out the uber fireball-staff and began hurling fireballs at Cain's character. He wound up getting killed by his own weapon that was in the mod chest for another character! Weird, huh? Anybody else have an strange happenstances take place?

Thanks, but that is not what I mean. It happened sometimes when I was simply walking in the streets, and it has happened several times when I walk in the front door of an Inn. This was in my first game though, haven't happened yet in my current one. Maybe I've trespassed their homes earlier, when I didn't know about the trespassing 'rules'? Anyway I had a strange happening last night: I was exploring an old fort (the tower, not the inside), when suddenly a man came running down the stairs, ran right past me and headed for the woods. I ran after him, and when I caught up with him and talked to him, I got the 'Give me your money!'-dialogue! I'm only level 3 in this game as well (and 0 fame), so he shouldn't be very afraid of me...

QUOTE(Agent Griff @ Apr 25 2006, 03:43 PM) The thing with the man sounds very mysterious as well, maybe he was running from something? You should have checked. Come to think of it there was a Wolf in the area. Didn't notice it until after I talked to that bandit archer, when I had to fight both. So maybe he was actually running after the Wolf then?

Good one! I've never used any of those 'psychological' spells like calm, frenzy, command, demoralize and rally. Do they really work like they should?

Where to start... where to start... Ah here, once I decided to go on a murdering rampage and struck a guy. So the guards and tried to arrest me, I resisted, and ran after the guy I attacked. After catching up to him the guard behind me attacked, not me though! He attacked the man I assualted! Killing him right in the middle of the street! Another time I was just walking though the Imperial city when I found that retired Mages Guild counsil member, and he attacked me! Just out of the blue summened a Frost Atronauch and charged! I backed up into the street to let the guards handle it, they did. But as soon as the mage fell dead they all turned onto one of the the guards! Once he died, they turned onto another! WTF! Now I may have mentioned this one before, if so then oh well deal with it. I was walking around not really doing anything, when I saw these two Imperial Foresters shooting something, I walk over to their target to kill it... It was another Forester! So I walk back expecting to see a bear or something I maybe missed, nope. They were trying to kill each other. After the loner died they remaining two then turned upon each other! After one of them was dead I decided to experiment, upon seeing that the Forester left was hunting Deer and taking the meat I droped a piece of Venicen on the ground... Yup, he took it. Did he kill his friends over Venicen? Granted it it very good... When I was taking Martin up to *Spoiler* I came across a couple of Imperial guards fighting each other (Like above ^), so I stayed out of it, but when one of them was left he then turned on Martin! To bad I did not realize Martin was an important character at the time... And that is the story of how I was invited into the Dark Brotherhood. Beat those ^, I dare you.

I once went into a Fort and overheard the sounds of fighting below me. My first thoguht was that they had seen me but when I jumped down, I found I had just jumped into a middle of a brawl - the bandits were killing each other! NEedless to say, I mopped up what was left of the bandits and looted the already slain ones. Another time, a NPC I had sent to jail in a quest, a Corrupt Imperial Watchman, escaped from jail and tracked me down to kill me. Now, despite him being dressed in prison-clothes with a iron dagger, it seems a Bruma guard got the idea this nutcase was still a Imperial Watchman. So, I had to fend off a Bruma guardsman while killing the honoured user!
