Again let us be reminded that no one currently involved with this story can vote. That means that I cannot, Telina can't nor can Sirin. You are voting on who would win the fight, not who your favorite is so take time to think. I will close this match one week from today meaning that on the next tuesday from today the poll will be closed and I will start working on the ending. biggrin.gif Here goes......

With very little to virtually no break in between rounds, the eager Hircine gets to his feet as his hands are consumed in an aura of crackling magicka. The crowd as well as the combatants look to see him motioning his hands while two fighters just as they did once before, slowly raise into the chilly northern air.

This match was going to weigh heavily on Sirin. Every opponent was not going to surrender and lay down their lives in a blatant personal rebellion. Sirin knew what had to be done. Refusing to fight was not an option any more and if the battles didn’t continue, then all would be punished in some way or form.

As the two figures stood in the icy pit, they stared into each other’s eyes knowing that in seconds, they both would be fighting for the right to live…for the moment anyway.

Telina, a beautiful Dunmeri woman that would look to be no older then an adolescent, or teen due to her small frame and youthful face. Any man not forced to kill by a Daedric god would never think of laying a finger on her, but all knew that she was in this twisted competition for a reason and that she should not be underestimated by any means.

Sirin stood with katana in hand, this time not on the defensive side. Sirin would not wait for an opponent’s first strike, but instead would overwhelm with mind boggling speed and proficiency with a blade.

Telina watched as the skilled competitor darted forward in her general direction as she charged her magicka in anticipation. She watched the Katana wielding foe with a fierce intensity and waited for an opportune moment. Suddenly, Telina seemed to burst with an explosion of magicka that sent a screaming chilling blast at Sirin.

Sirin could see it approaching with dangerous speed but an attempt to get out of the spotlight failed as the slippery arena surface caused a delay in Sirin’s evasion and the icy blast hit its mark freezing Sirin’s whole lower body.

Telina breathed a sigh of relief knowing that she wouldn’t have had time to draw a weapon if that spell would have missed. She thinks quickly for her next course of action and focuses her magicka just in case.

Meanwhile, Sirin could feel the effects of the ice magic that was all immobilizing. A quick glance proved that the ice was in fact freezing Sirin in place and had climbed to the waist mark. Breath was short as the crippling effects of the spell were taking its toll. Sirin was beginning to feel faint and vision was diminishing quickly. Something would have to be done quickly or the match would be over already.

Telina decided to probe into Sirin’s mind to see if she could finish this fight for good. Telina focuses her mind so she can tap into other’s and decides to alter her mind-voice and act like Hircine in hopes that it would work on Sirin.

“Surrender now you fool! Your feet bound to the arena and it leaves your opponent free to remove your head from your body. Surrender now and I will siphon your life essence from your body and it will not hurt one bit!” Telina says telepathically in a deep, commanding voice.

Sirin looks up slowly and over a shoulder to Hircine with half closed eyes. With a shake of the head signifying disagreement, Sirin starts to chip away at the ice with the razor sharp katana. Within mere seconds, the ice was chipped away to the point where Sirin could break out unaided.

“Time to end this nonsense.” Sirin says quietly before bursting into a full sprint. Telina would rue the day that she ever set foot in this arena at all…as if she or any other combatant actually had a choice.

Telina backed up step by step as the katana wielding enemy charged headlong at her full speed. She was baffled as to how Sirin managed to fight out of the ice as well as pretty much ignore her telekinesis. She could tell that the ice had taken its toll leaving Sirin exhausted and probably half dead for all she could tell but it seemed to be a kind of mind over matter event.

Sirin grinned before leaping into the air while lunging at Telina. She panicked and tried conjuring a bound longsword in her right hand to defend against the invading katana of Sirin but unfortunately that is what Sirin wanted all along. In mid-air, Sirin tosses his katana over to the other hand and takes one swipe before landing behind Telina.

From the audience’s point of view, it seemed that Sirin had missed gravely as Telina quickly turned around but Sirin, and Telina both knew what had happened. The slight of hand move had worked perfectly for Sirin as a trail of blood trickled down the deadly blade. Telina bites her lip as a single tear falls from her eye.

She looks to her shoulder as she feared for the worst. Her dark brotherhood armor had a large gash in the top of the cuirass and she could feel the warmth of blood. Touching the slice in her armor proved what she was afraid of. Blood dripped from her fingers and began to trickle out of the opened wound. The katana had definitely made contact with flesh and the Exhausted and frost bitten Sirin remains knelt, trying desperately to catch a breath while the shock ended for Telina and the pain of the half-foot long gash that started just by her collar bone and ended on her upper back set in as she fell to her knees in complete agony……..

Great fight Taillus! You are one of the best "young" writers on these boards if I can say so myself. I could say that there is a trio of good writers that joined in pretty much the same timeframe and I call them the "young" writers. I think you can guess who they are but anyway. You described Telina's fighting style very well and Sirin's as well. The battle seems tight but I'll vote for Telina, she seems to have the upper hand in this fight.

I don't know. Sirin still seems to have a huge speed advantage, despite his injuries. And Telina is also wounded. On top of that, Sirin resisted her telepathy. So, I think I'll go for Sirin.

It was also a well written post Tai, and I enjoyed it throughoughly...but well I wont vote...that wouldnt be fair...smile.gif

Sounds good. I will whip up the ending tonight and will cap it off then. There hasn't really been too much activity so I think that it would be reasonable.

That way we can get this all moving! biggrin.gif

And here it is everyone. I really tried to make this ending a good one so I hope you all enjoy it! Congrats Telle and best of luck in the next round!

Both combatants kneel as the toll of battle weighs heavily upon them. Telina with her life threatening gash and Sirin barely holding on after withstanding a ferocious frost magicka; they both breathe heavily and watch each other in anticipation.

Sirin decides to gather his strength and get to his feet in hopes that he could quickly and efficiently end this battle so he could mend his wounds. He was suffering from a deep chill that shook him to his core and he gripped his katana tightly but was unable to keep from shaking violently.

Telina watched carefully as she tried to ignore the pulsing pain that was coming from her damaged shoulder and knew full well the dire danger associated if another swing broke through her guard.

Suddenly, as if a new life was breathed into the very soul of Sirin he clenched his katana and kicked off the ground. He aimed his blade downward as his other hand quickly raised up to grab the hilt and he used the falling momentum to power the blade. Telina managed to hop backwards to see the blade, as well as its owner hit the icy floor and she reacted by trying to reach into his thoughts once again.

“What am I doing? This young lady has done nothing to me. Who do I think I am to take this life of hers? Do I think of myself as a god? One who can take lives as he pleases? I should lay down my swor…..” Telina’s clever trick of inserting thoughts into Sirin’s head using his own mental voice to trick him was interrupted by the booming voice of Hircine.

“What are you waiting for fools!? Kill one another or I will make you suffer far greater then you have ever imagined possible!!!” Hircine explodes as he hops up from his frozen throne.

Sirin looks at Telina with a gaze of sadness as he holds his blade in a readied stance.

“No hard feelings but I have to look out for number one!” Sirin whispers as he arcs his katana back for a final swing. Just as it descends on the frame of Telina, The crowd is shocked by an almost light speed summon of a pair bound long-swords that materialize into Telina’s hands which she uses in a scissor-like motion to trap Sirin’s lone katana.

She forces his blade to their feet before looking up at him, seeing the shock and disbelief in his face.

“No hard feelings…doesn’t that sound familiar?” Telina says with a smile as she quickly extends her arms in a bird of prey stance, slightly kneeling and swings them forward letting the two blades dice through the almost helpless Sirin’s armor releasing a spray of blood from his chest before Telina’s arms come to rest crossed in front of her with the dual long swords framing her face.

“I deem this match over and Telina will advance to the next round!” Hircine shouts as his pack of Lycans carry off the body of Sirin and Telina is cast back into the stands and held there along with the others.
