Ok, so just a small one today, as this is all I managed to write at this time...
The Tale of Telina Delvanni. Chapter 4. Mournhold, city of light city of magic.
I was surprised by how much longer the teleportation was, compared to the other one’s I had made…I guess travelling over longer distances took longer time. When I had managed to get a look at the room I stood in, I was dumbfounded…sure I had heard of the beauty of Mournhold Almalexia, the city of Lady Ayem…but nothing could prepare me for the sight.
The floor was made up of huge brass and black coloured tiles. The recesses filled with silver, and the walls was of some dark green stone. Gold metal bandings spread along the wall in mid height, and they was crested with rubies and emeralds…Never have I seen such a beautiful room as the throne room though…large round, blood red coloured pillars stretched themselves up to the roof, which had a painting of the battle at Red Mountain…the King was not here, but a Man that seemed to be slightly more significant than the other guards there…I figured that out with all the gold and silver bandings that decorated his armour.
Have I mentioned how much I hate the Royal Guard armour…it have an unsettling colour of…dried blood, the helmets are so tight that you cant see the face of the guard either, and I always get a shock when I suddenly stand nose to nose with one…but enough of that. The imperial seemed reluctant to speak tome, although I could see his eye flickering around the room…as if he was looking for escape routes…hmm, strange. I opened my mouth, but he cut me off…”Excuse me, I have much to do…get out of the throne room”.
Fine, he did not want to talk to me…well, no need for irritating him, as the enchanted Daedric Dai-Katana at his back, was clearly vibrating by all the power contained. As I was in the courtyard, I suddenly realised there was two doors, and with me hating to guess at things like this, I asked the old Imperial sitting on the flowerbed, where to go.
Plitinius Maro, was his name…and I suddenly realised that I stood and talked to the famous writer of the Real Barenzia novels…I may have mentioned before my love for books…it is a hobby of mine that have helped me much with decreasing the number of money in my bank account…but to actually talk to the writer of a book series that I loved was thrilling. We had talked a long time, before I mentioned the subject of the brotherhood being after me…since he could not do anything else than to tell me that they was supposedly in the Great Bazaar sewers, I should contact the temple, as maybe they could help me out. I had just started to walk towards the entrance to the temple courtyard, when a Cyrodiilic voice came tome.
-“Excuse me ma’am, but do I understand you correctly that you’re going down to the sewers”?…”As a matter of fact you did, how’s that”, I asked back, trying to keep the bitterness in my voice to the minimum.
-“Well, I wondered if you would like a companion, I am a good fighter, can carry heavy loads, and I know the sewers well enough, for your needs”. “Now before you answer, there are some rules, I don’t work for free, so I’ll need 250 septims a month…you’re free to give me new equipment anytime you want, and also take equipment…as long I have my gold, and at least 500 septims worth of equipment…so what do you say…we got a deal”.
Ok…he wanted to be my personal bodyguard for an entire month…for only 250 septims…best deal I’ve ever made…I shook his hand, and gave him the gold…after that I gave him some 2000septims, to get equipped and ready for action…Then we parted, and I entered the temple courtyard.

Finally, I found the time to update again....as I have been too busy to write another update...but I hope again that I can update soon.
I must say that although the royal palace impressed me greatly, it was nothing compared to the temple in Mournhold. It’s tall spires, reached high in the air, and the entire building was made out from white marble…the cobbles on the ground, was also marble…and I believe that it rivals the beauty of even the white tower of the emperor himself.
I noticed that the temple was guarded with Ordinators here as well…but they had a different kind of armour…It was made of a slightly pink coloured silver, or possibly ebony…reinforced with gold bandings. But what fascinated me the most, was the heavy scimitars hanging at their waists, definitely made out of refined ebony and silver. As I walked past one of them, towards the entrance, he talked to me.
-“Mournhold, city of light, city of magic”
-“Could you help me with a simple matter, brother”, I asked him friendly.
-“Why of course, Ser Inquisitor Delvanni, what is it that need my assistance”?
-”You see, I have been attacked by the dark brotherhood…and need to find out where they are…as I want to finish them…for good”.
The information I got from him was quite useful, but he recommended that got there from the temple sewers…as they was filled with less vile creatures and bandits…thanking him I walked into the temple, with my newly hired mercenary, who by the record was named Calvus Horatius, right behind me.
The interior of the temple, was as stunning as the outside…and as I expected, it was filled up with High Ordinators, as they were called…all whom saluted me where I walked past them. I had decided o tell my plans to the Lord Archanon of the temple here in Mournhold. If I was to finish off the Brotherhood, I first needed to manage to get down to them…and therefore I needed a good disguise, which I happened to have…with me I had the Black Hand set carried by Haldin, and the two crossbows he had used as well.
The problem was that Calvus had no such thing as any Dark Brotherhood armour, and because of that, I needed to “borrow” it from someone else. The Archanon was quite well informed of how to get to them, and told me that some passages was filled with Goblins…who I had to avoid, then I would just get to the wrong place.
He allowed me top use his private quarters for my change, and gave me a bag filled with pieces of chalk…as a girl without any form of markings down there, could become very very lost. I smiled as I got back into the set of robes and such that I had worn for so many years ago…and I felt the raw magicka, boosting several of my skills…then I donned my weapons, and walked out to meet Calvus, who was practically dazzled by the looks of the set on me…I guess they fit to me sometimes.
We walked through the basement, and entered the trap door on the floor…the thick acrid smell of sewers, got hold of me quite fats, and it took the greatest of my efforts to keep me from vomiting…until I got used to the smell that was.
We came to a large hallway…( the sewers in Vivec city, is nothing compared to these), with three different passages, so naturally I just had to go with the famous Delvanni guessing…that led me to the left corridor.
We walked as silent as possible, through the long corridor, which was slowly turning right, and downwards…The soft shoes I was wearing, made almost no…if even no sounds at all…but the heavy armoured steel boots of Calvus, sounded like thunder in these silent halls.
Suddenly the halls was not so silent anymore…no, it was definitely some strange sounds around…then I recognised the loud grunting sounds….”Goblins”, I shouted, as I loaded one of the crossbows, and held it ready. Around the corner, came no less than five Goblins, grunting, and banging their clubs against their buckler shields.
I aimed, as I saw Calvius take up a rather defensive stance, with his shield in front of him…the closest Goblin, was slightly larger than the rest of them, so I shot at him.
The bolt, slammed into his chest, and delivered it’s lethal poison into his veins…and he was dead before he hit the ground.
With a cry that sounded like…”FOR THE EMPEROR”, Calvius, ran forward, and slammed his imperial broadsword, down to the head of one Goblin…cleaving him in twain, then with a brutal backslash, he beheaded another…the Goblins, screamed in fury, and fear, and then ran like they was possessed, back to where they came from…while Calvius, was cleaning his weapon, I wondered what in the name of the tribunes, all that was.
So, we backtracked to the large hall, which had conveniently filled itself up with less friendly skeletons, that had to be persuaded, by me and Calvius…then we decided for some lunch.
-“So Calvius”, I said, after I had swallowed down the meat I had in my mouth…”are there any special rules here in the city”.
-“Well, muthsera, Levitation, translocation spells, and recall/mark spells, are disallowed within the citadel, you’re not allowed to go out of the citadel, so the only teleportation spells allowed, are Intervention spells, as they will only transport you to another place in the citadel, and that’s about it”, he said…then he took another bite of his loaf of bred…with some scuttle on top.
We continued, after half an hour, then we took the central pathway…marking the earlier passage we had gone into with a large X…to point out that we was not going in there again. We had just put our hands to the two doors, at the end of the hall, when a scurry sad voice came to us.
-“Please, help me”…it was an ancestral spirit, talking to us…”Me and my wife was down here, when we were attacked by the Black Dart Gang, they killed me, but my wife got away…behind this door, there is a fake torch holder, that is a lever…it will flood most of the tunnel, and drown the Black Dart Gang…good luck”.
Ok…that was weird, but what do you say…never disappoint the last wish of a dead person, so I turned the cleverly concealed lever that he spoke of…and the tunnel was filled with water…but I guess we stood at the highest point in this tunnel, since it only reached us to our knees.
-“Calvius, wait here…I want to check out these guys, as I think they’re something special…after one minute have gone, turn the lever…as I think the water will disappear then…”
I gulped down a swift swim, and water breathing potion, and made my way through the muddy waters…at the end of the tunnels, I could see the members of the killer gang, floating at the top of the roof…and suddenly, the water seemed to flow away.
I sensed that there was some very powerful enchantments around here…and after looting the corpse of one of the gang members gave away the answer…The simple clothed mer’s, was wearing dozens of different darts, most unenchanted, but they was sharper than anything I have ever encounted, in my whole life…but some was enchanted with powerful poison and rain health spells…and they was literally coated with virulent poisons.
Nedless to say, I took all darts that I could find, so I was quite happy when I walked back to Calvius, with some hundred unechanted, and about sixty enchanted darts.
We went back to the sewers, and took the last passage, which gave away results…a large sign, at the end of it, said “Bazaar sewers”…so we walked in. The area here was filled up with all manner of creatures, but for the most, it was just a rat or three, or possibly a skeleton…but we did meet a rather nasty bonewalker, but he proved for me that undead are quite allergic to bolts, launched from a powerful crossbow.
At last we found something that could prove to be the place where my hated foes stayed…Manor District!!!!!!

Here it is.I knocked on the door, only to be met by a dark voice…Dunmeri, possibly a Nord. “What is the cover of night”…”Sanguine my brother”, I answered, knowing all to well the passwords and such of the guild. The door swung open, and there stood a Dunmer, as I had thought, slightly larger than Calvius, but that didn’t matter…”Wha…hey you’re not supposed to be here….die fetch!!!!AAARGHHHH!!! I’m afraid whatever he was supposed to say, was cut off, with me chopping his head clean off with a dwemer shortsword. -“Calvius, take his armour on you and just follow me…accordingly you might want to use his shortsword as well, meanwhile I’ll explain you on what you’re supposed to do”. He nodded, and took of all his equipment, and fitted into the quite bloody armour. We was supposed to walk into the camp, me with my hood drawn over the face (something that I had neglected, i.e: I was discovered by the doorkeeper, because he could see my face)…then we would pretend that I had to follow him to the leader, since he had seen someone who fitted the description of that Delvanni woman (me)…he had been wounded when they attacked, and had I not arrived he would be dead by now. After walking through the corridors, we eventually found a very large underground “cave”…what was so strange (something that I had noticed in the corridors), was that parts of an ancient city stood out of the rocks, although they are mere ruins now ( and was that then to), they were magnificent to look at. We stopped the closest assassin, and asked for the directions…(poor fools, the Brotherhood have become totally ignorant, pointing out the whereabouts of their leader just like that)…they had pointed to a door that was high up in the “cave”, but was accessible by walking up some wooden ramps. Me and Calvius tried as best we could, to make it look as though he was wounded, and I was supporting him, when we walked up the big wooden ramp…and as a matter of fact, we had a spot of luck, and wasn’t caught, so I silently opned the door, into Moril Manor, which was where the leader was supposed to be. We stood in a large hallway, with a path leading straight forward, and one going left, so we decided that I was to take the left one. I silently loaded my two crossbows, and snuck silently against the wall…just as I turned around the corner, I suddenly stood with my face, a couple of inches from another face…which looked rather angry. -“Oh bugger”, I said as I saw three more assassins come running towards us, so naturally I stepped back, and fired both of the crossbows at the closest assassin, who gave out a pitched scream, before he hit the ground. The three other assassins, was entirely different thing though…I did not have the time to reload the crossbows, and well, one dwemer shortsword is nothing compared to three nasty enchanted adamantium shortswords…but then a though came to my mind…the darts!!!! I quickly drew up three darts, and threatened them with them…”hahaha…do you really think we’re supposed to be afraid of some pesky steel darts…Delvanni”, one of the laughed. Well, they earned it, I threw one of the darts, but as my aim is not like it used to be, I only made a tiny scratch on his left arm…He laughed at me, suddenly he looked as though he had seen the lords of Oblivion in front of him, and then he sank soundlessly to the floor… -“You’ll pay for that Delvanni”, one of the screamed, and then they ran at me. I threw both darts, at the same time…unfortunately both hit just one person, which meant me against him. We circled each other, watching for a mistake in each others movements, and then as if a special signal was revealed, we struck out with our blades. Strike, parry…it continued back and forth like that for a long time, until a brutal backslash, hit the assassin in the leg…The Dwemer blade, that was enchanted with a paralyze spell, was effective, and soon the assassin stood rooted to the spot…putting the blade to his throat, I pushed it forwards, as hard as I could… Edit: I could have sworn I pushed the edit button....sry. Ah, the good old clothes switch. You know, I am always amazed that the clothes fit. Must be hero's luck or something.
Darkhunter, interesting idea. I would have to go back to Oasis though and change it. I can already see it. ,,Hey, Dagoth Ur. You know, if I strike this thingie here with Keening, you're death. But I am rather hungry and I haven't lunched yet. So, see ya." *Walks off whistling.*

QUOTE(DarkHunter @ May 3 2006, 10:06 PM) ... i meant BEFORE you get to that part... like my guy gave it up when he discovered he'd be (technically) smashing Lorkhan's heart, which is the heart of the Deadra that created the mortal realm... Lorkhan was an Aedra not a Daedra. Anyway, great update Tellie! I liked the old trick with the clothes and I also liked the excuse for them being bloody, very creative on Telina's part. Anyway, keep on writing!
