I bought "Touched by the Crimson King" in Best Buy, so I assume they're sold pretty much anywhere that has a decent selection.

I'm still remembering-The Cranberries. Don't know how I started listening to them or even got their music, they're not exactly in my genre but I do and I like them.

Kiln: I listen to that sort of music, my tastes are pretty spread though, I don't like a lot of music but the music I do like is fairly spread across the metal and classical genres (and even some pop/punk blink.gif ). Now I am listening to Good morning Beautiful by Deftones, now Holy Mountains by System of a Down.

I've dug out my Pink Floyd CD's again... smile.gif Oh how I've missed it! It's still the best music I've ever liked/still like.

Roger Waters with band is playing in town soon, so that's why I'm getting prepared. They're going to play the entire Dark Side of The Moon album, as well as lots of other Pink Floyd material. I've ordered sunny weather that day... cool.gif

NIN - The Line Begins To Blur
Awesome song. Dark, gruesome, heavy on ears, poluted with noise, yet melodic and deep, perfectly combining Reznor's yelling and soft, sweetly sung chorus... just AWESOME devilsmile.gif

EDIT: because I can't have double posts, I am editing tongue.gif

Tom Waits - DOWNTOWN TRAIN
Another old song I loved, back in the day when I didn't even own a damn tape recorder... oh, the good old days, where art thou...

I'm listening to something...erm...similar to what mplantinga is. laugh.gif Dvorak's symphony, Smphony X...close enough.

Symphony X - The Edge of Forever. One of their (much) older songs, but it's still one of the best. It starts out soft and emotional, then gets into some sweet soloing before getting heavy. That why I love bands like Symphony X and Dream Theater so much; they sare masters of changing the tone many times withing their songs while still making it seems like the same song.

EDIT: I just learned that Symphony X cancelled their European concerts b/c Lepond (the bassist) is undergoing surgery. sad.gif

I agree on that Danny.. Symphony X and Dream Theater along with many other bands really makes songs much better when they go like the soft start and turns into this heavy rythme at the end. Like in Unleash the Fire, it starts of pretty heavy with this kinda sharp guitar and through out it gets more deep at the end and jumps up inbetween smile.gif

At the moment thought, I'm listning to Kaizers Orchestra. Norwegian band, mostly made of bergensere. I don't remember how many is in, but if I'm not all wrong it's something between six and nine. They sing this norwegian / deutsch kinda way, not bad - Not all the rock, but more something inbetween - not bad at all thought...

Knekker Deg Til Sist - Kaizers Orchestra

Pretty much a direct transfer to english would be "Break you last" smile.gif

Im currently listening to Tomahawk - Mit Gas I recently got it, and its a great album. It seems a little bit punky in some of the songs, but overall Im glad I bought it. Quite dark sometimes to, but I like it that way in this case.

Well, this a big change from what I usually listen to...

Steel Pulse - Steppin' Out

Steel Pulse is a reggae band from the UK. The only reggae band to be invited to play at the white house. smile.gif It's very relaxing and enjoyable to listen to...

Going through some of the older songs by Amulet, their old album 'Freedom Fighters'

This is my favourite album by them. It's really what Amulet stands for; Fast guitar, fast rythme, hardcore and of course the intensity. Which you can really see when they perform live...

Life on the Edge of Chaos by Amulet! Yeeaah!

I'm currently in the process of discovering new music of a particular genre. To do this, I enter an artist in amazon, and then see what playlists people come up with with similar artists. I then check those out and listen to a few samples. Right now the band I started with is Markscheider Kunst. I think I mentioned them before, but now you can actually hear one of their tracks as well, so yeah...

What I have discovered so far is a pretty crazy band called Gogol Bordello which produces some weird balkanized punk thing, and someone called Shantel.

Just got Ray Davies' "Other People's Lives." Mrs. Treydog and I had heard an interview on National Public Radio and both liked what we heard.

If you are an old-time Kinks fan expected more of the same, this will be a disappointment. It is much quieter and slower. Ray shows his musical prowess, but it is much more about people and the incidents of life.

Favorites (so far) include: "Is There Life After Breakfast?" and "Things are Gonna Change." Soulful and worth a listen.

I'm right now listening to Los Lobos' 1984 album "How Will The Wolf Survive?". Quite good rock, that. I don't even remember how I stumbled across them, for as far as I know, they're virtually unknown around here. I like how it's classical rock, but with a touch of blues, folk and also traditional mexican influences.
