I wear shoes that are kinda half boot half trainer, and they are soooo comfortable. I'm gonna be wearing the things til they fall apart from use, like my last pair did

QUOTE(Wolfie @ May 22 2006, 04:53 PM) I wear shoes that are kinda half boot half trainer, and they are soooo comfortable. I'm gonna be wearing the things til they fall apart from use, like my last pair did geghe mine actually fall appart They were my fav pair of shoes. But it was raining outside and all the sudden my socks got wet. Later on I figured out there was this huge hole in my shoe guess it was time for a new pair! QUOTE(Ibis @ May 22 2006, 10:40 AM) No flashy colors? But it was you, Milanius, who started the whole shoe conversation with your silver sneakers. You don't consider silver sneakers to be a mite flashy? I'd certainly take notice of a guy walking down the street in silver sneakers! Uh, you misunderstood me Sure, they are too sexy for my feet, I guess but if you look at them you won't find anything unneccessary - no air pockets, no fancy lace mechanisms, no hi-tech gadgets to improve the bounce... just a simple, clear design and no more than 2 colors (well, 3 actually, if you count the bottom... uhhh... what's the english word for "djon" ?! )

QUOTE(Ibis @ May 22 2006, 03:33 AM) Well, I cut my foot very badly on a torn up, sharp metal pipe that was lying in our neighbors yard (running for the beer store before closing time actually - lol) and I got home, no beer, my foot wouldn't stop bleeding, Cain was already passed out from too much beer ... so I had no choice but to soak it in cold water until the bleeding stopped and then pour hydrogen peroxide all over it and put a clean sock on - we had no bandages. But I used my Nike sneaker like a bandage, tying it just tight enough. And I went to work that way, restaurant work - on my feet all day - and kept pouring the peroxide on it and wearing clean socks and my Nike tied just so. And it eventually healed so well that I don't even have a scar now - but the cut was so deep at the time that any deeper, I could have lost my middle toe. So, I know Nike makes a good shoe - although if it's made with prison labor in China or something I'm sorry to hear that. But I even sent a thank you letter to Nike and they sent me a coupon for buying another pair of shoes later. BUT YOU DIDN"T GET THE BEER! Thats a sad story Anyways, on the topic of shoes... I have.. let me count.. Nearly 13 pairs of shoes I've obtained in the last 2 years. Damn Puma to hell! I like to think that I'm helping some poor farmer make a little bit of extra money by working in a sweat shop. Hows that for logic?

As far as shoes go, I wear Converse. Feels like you're barefoot, they're so light. And they're pretty durable as well. I've had the same pair of shoes for almost three years now. I'm in my last full week of school until summer break. Man, am I happy for that. I took an 80 question final exam for Spanish today, and I'm going to be taking a "speaking" part of the test tomorrow. I will most likely be exempt from the rest of my tests... except for my Geometry one, which I must take because numbers are scary to me... and I don't do well with them. Meh... but, no worries. My boyfriend graduated a few weeks ago. I cried at graduation. But, we're both doing very well. We're quite content with each other... though, sometimes I do miss him not being around so much. His job right now is stressing him out. He works part-time but, his manager seems to think otherwise. He worked 34 hours last week, and it doesn't seem like he's going to have it any easier this week. But, I try to be supportive. When he came over to my house yesterday, I gave him a massage and we watched some movies together and just had a great time. Whenever he comes over to my house, I always tell him he doesn't have to lift a finger. I give him a chance to relax and be lazy if he wants.

Oh Mazelure, I think your cute ... like big teddy bear snuggly kinda cute. But your Avvy being green and having the tooth thing going on ... well, he's just pushing it. As soon as you said Converse Kayla, I realized that my steel toed black leather sneakers are by Converse and yes, they are very extremely confortable and light even with having the steel toes. I do joke with people that I am Air Force trained in the use of blunt weapons, them being the best choice of defense since you cannot be really accused of premeditation. And they'll say, well what blunt weapon are you carrying and I jab my toe up menacingly and say "Steel toes, baby!" I think guys especially get the joke of where they'd be applied if needs be. lolol I sympathize with people whose shoes have fallen apart because my most beloved pair of shoes were my lavender sneakers and I wore them until they split apart. The funniest shoe damage thing I've ever seen was my friend Tina, who bought a pair of red canvas Spanish espadrilles that had a woven fiber lifted heel and wrapped around her ankle to tie. She was quite proud of them, until once we got caught at a bus stop in the rain ... and her espadrilles ... disintegrated ... right before our eyes. First the red canvas came unglued from the woven soles, and then the red color ran all over her feet and then the woven fiber of the shoe just sorta turned to mush uder her feet. It was hilarious to see the look of alarm on her face! To make her feel better during the shoeless bus ride home - we all kept singing "The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plane." ============ Wow, Channler ... now that you pointed out the true tragedy of my cut foot accident, I probably could have next day hobbled over to the beer store with the sad tale and who knows - possibly - have gotten coupons for free beer?? Wow, that'd be the ticket for a good recovery.
