Yeah, StarCraft was pretty neat. But I was more of a WarCraft person. Up until I lost my copy I played WarCraft 2 aaaaalll the time. WarCraft 3 was also amazing, but nobody seems to play starightforward games anymore. Sure the custom games are fine... but after a while it all wears down.

well sims one was much more minute details per sim. sims 2 has a slightly improved AI so your sims tend to take better care fo themselvs so you worry more about the other aspcts such as working towards the next job promotion instead of making sure they get to the bathroom in time.

if you enjoyed the urinary accidents and the stov fires in sims, gotta love it in sims 2 when they wet themselves if there is a fire cause they get so excited(no in the good way of course).

but yes starcraft is an amazing game. I still love it to this day, just don't play it often. I preferred starcraft to warcraft. I sometimes wonder why blizzard chose to continue that.

Mrs. Treydog still reminds me of the time I was playing Sim City and the citizens were becoming unhappy. She said,

"Take away their fire and police departments and see how they like that!"

So I did.... bad dog

I should do that... I'm still playing SimCity 2000. Those games are great. I love the alien thing.

laugh.gif This story reminds me of the time me and my friends were discussing those games where you get to build your own theme park in class. Me and a friend were comparing how awesome our theme parks were when another friend of mine who had been silent the entire conversation looks up and goes, "Have any of you guys been trying to build like a cool roller coaster or something, and all of a sudden on the other side of the park, one of your other rides explodes and all the people die?" We all just kinda stared at him for a minute and someone says, "....no..." and everyone burst out laughing.

Hmm, alot of people are telling me to buy Sims 2, but I can't really say I loved the Sims. What do you all think? Should I get le game?

Well I liked the ability to chose between walking on your own and the classic play where you just click on what you want them to do.

I personally liked it, Sims2 seemed to be an improvement over most of the other Sims games I'd played and I found it rather fun. If its not your sort of game though then you won't like it, if you didn't like the others then chances are you probably won't like this one either.

StarCraft..... Nothing can surpass it. Not even Warhammer 40K. Even if the graphic sucks for todays standards, I would rather play StarCraft then some junk such as Age of Empires III. I really hope they can manage to get me the same feeling in StarCraft 2. smile.gif

Blizzard may not make a lot of games, and they make one game for a LOOOONG time, but every one they make is a mega-hit. I think everybody will agree on that evillol.gif

No, but I just checked what is it. laugh.gif

Seems like something similar to Street Fighter user posted image

Still, what does that have to do with my comment?

Wasn't that Blizzard and...uhm...lame? I wasn't much of a console player, but I was just...I dunno... pointing out not all Blizzard games are great. Lost Vikings was fun, though. And Blackthorne. Didn't like Warcraft 1 (which came out at the same time as Command and Conquer), but otherwise...yeah, pretty good games. Never played World of Warcraft though. Don't like MMRPGS. Guess it's the same reason I don't like the sims - why have a computer-based life when you can have a real one? Computer games should be about relieving stress and furthering knowledge, not making you feel stupid (like some of the economic simulators that have more facts than gameplay) or stressing you out with real-life scenarios and people that call others 'newbies' as though it's a crime.

The Sims is a really bad social simulator anyway. Quite often talking about ducks then offering woohoo to a girl will get you locked up in an asylum, rather than a chance to make a bed shake for a few seconds. Plus there is the sexual ambiguity of it all. Whilst I have no problem with homosexuallity, not ALL people are bisexual sex-addicts whose sole goals in life are to get the honey-smooch. Even if you choose the knowledge pathway in The Sims 2, eventually your character is going to want to have woohoo and have a family, and, as I've said before, I am going to die miserable and alone. It's better than being with someone and pretending to be happy.

Ahh, well, I really wouldn't know since I didn't play it.

Warcraft Series, StarCraft + Brood War, Diablo I and II..... All great games, but it's development took long enough. Warcraft III took the same time as Oblivion, I think wink.gif

Anyway, does anybody know what's happening with StarCraft: Ghost? I don't see it in projects window anymore! ohmy.gif

Talking about Warcraft aye?

I've only tried out Warcraft III Frozen Throne and World of Warcraft... I most say, even thought how addicting World of Warcraft is and how fun it is, I enjoyed Warcraft III more...

The first thing is that playing against other players is much more fun, and the PvP system in World of Warcraft needs no skills what so ever, all you have to do is push some buttons. While in Warcraft III I just loved to play Solo or 3vs3 games where you always had to work out new tactics, make units with piercing attacks against unarmored units, was great. The community was also very nice...

In World of Warcraft you end up doing quests and such because you want to look good, come up in high level - have a great armor set and a sweet looking weapon and do the major instances.

In Warcraft III it was always different and always fun, unless you played a team game where one or more of you're allies ends up leaving and you are stuck there fighting against two peeps alone, that moment sucks but then again, because it actually requires skills and you ARE good - you manage to win alone against those two... While in World of Warcraft you would have simply got gutted.

I never played WoW, but people who played it told me that it's a really dumb MMO, that takes zero effort and a lot of time to play. Since I'm not looking for that in the game, I'll pass. Blizzard RTS are awesome though. And Diablo is a legend for itself. Sure, a pure hack&slash, but it was fun. biggrin.gif

I never played WoW but the people I do know including my manager at work, are hooked on it. it looks alright but I don't generate nough income to support the monthly fees, so therefore I try not to play it and have been succesful thus far.

Warcraft three was great, I still play it form time to time, though not online. I am not a big multiplayer person blink.gif too many jerks out there that ruin the game. Diablo 2 was perhaps the only exceptions cuz I had my group of friends who I would play with. always was an amazon. never did much melee characters. strife and multishot wub.gif
and secret cow level. the joy

and one last note about the sims 2. I love custom content. 6,800 files(1.17GB) and growing weekly. that's not including th walls and floors i've d/l O.o

I was obsessed with WoW for some time, but after awhile it just died in me. I don't like being controlled too much and unfortunatly that's what MMOs are all about. The game keeping the character in line. Plus everyone else takes is FAR to seriously, grinding the hell out of everything and trying to make their character a perfect engine of destruction, down to the last attribute point.

I never realy played online games. I've only played lineage 2 and sw galaxies [which was a demo tongue.gif...] for a wile. But I must say that the graphics are pretty cool and its in fact cool to play with real people instead of some pre-programmed computer figure. But I can't realy get into it, like there is no point in playing the game. The only thing you do is like doing quests and leveling and stuff. But it's not realy something for me I guess. Alltho I realy enjoyed sw galaxies, cos I'm a huge starwars fan. biggrin.gif

A friend of mine bought WoW about a month ago, and it has completely taken over his mind. He literally calls me everyday just to ask me when I'm going to buy the game.

I thought about getting it, but when I saw what it did to him, I was like, "No... That will steal my life!"

Seriously.
